Rocco tries to tell the truth to Katie, but can’t bring himself to do it. Eric insists on marrying Beth despite her fear of not being a whole woman. Stephanie gives Conway the green light.

Nothing kept you and Beth apart, Eric, other than the fact you cheated on her, knocked another girl up, and then married the girl, who’s Daddy just happened to be rich enough to fund your start-up company. Then you chose to stay married to her all these years and have more children with her. All without giving Beth any explanation or apology.. Not even understanding why Beth gives you the time of day. You loved Beth so much, that after all that, you marry her twenty something daughter. Gross.
I've never understood why rich people have to change their clothes for dinner. What's wrong with the clothes they already have on lol?!

The early seasons and recent ones compared, feel like totally a different show altogether. None of the storylines make any sense anymore and they don’t even connect to the original plot.
This 1st season showed a more serious show with a hint of glamour mixed in. Now in 2021, it's all surface with no substance (just like modern day society)

I wonder if the appearance of her former flame (played by Jeff Conaway) in 1989 was planned all the way back to this time period. It could explain why she was so frigid and uncomfortable with men, why she turned to her dad, etc... because this former flame in NYC broke her heart and/or took advantage of her. Shame she left the show before the whole Brooke/Eric affair happened.. would have been interesting to see how her view on her dad would have changed.. and if she would have been more understanding to Stephanie?
