    I really enjoy watching you
Paint and you are really a great
    Living artist--,-
Your work is great and I can
    Understand your style and
    Technique of painting.
The truth is ---- it can be done
This way or that way--- it really
    Doesnt matter----- the important
    Thing is the Results.
    Because you are Spanish---
    Mexican u use black liberally.
    We white doesnt but isnt
    Black a beautiful color.
I live your happiness and joy
And you are really really great.

Alot of times i start w background but alot of times i dont. I have an idea of what i want to paint but then before i know it, something takes over, i stop trying. The colors n my hand just go on their own. Nobody schooled me. When my niece watches n gives me a tip, cause she attended university n studied art, i don't listen, it interferes with my flow. The older i get the more i TRUST myself. I dont plan. I like to play. The deeper i let go, the more holy n sacred n lovely the painting. Then i give it away. One day, i wanna sell. Who knows. I feel a little crazy when i paint but good crazy. Like. FREE. And it flows fast. Looks like i dont know what im doing. Then the baby is born. Call it my messy art. No thinking allowed. Only flow n HEART. Only loving on my babies compares to the love of painting.

I rarely sketch onto the canvas as I paint mostly alla prima plein aire, I work from back to front which is why your work amazes me (working front to back or all at the same time). But to answer the question your posed, I go gonzo on my skies, then begin building from there.

Master artist knew so studying the Old Dead Guys is very important to progress in your art journey. Like doing scales on your piano. It makes a map on your brain so you paint automatic even if you dont paint in the same style as they did (ginger cook and j trujillo advice) Loving Art

Are you mixing the paint with a medium? If so which one? The paint seems to flow better. Would love to see the palette when you paint. Very nice work.

JOSE, HOW I DETERMINE WHAT MY PAINTINGS WILL BE(LANDSCAPES) BOTH IN OIL & WATERCOLOR , I START WITH A VISION OF WHAT I DESIRE IN MY MIND, WATERCOLOR IT STARTS WITH WET IN WET. IN OILS I START AS STUART DAVIES (YOU TUBE CHANNEL) DOES THEN I WALK AWAY, OFTEN THE PAINTING WILL TELL ME WHAT IT WANTS TO BE, OFTEN FAR DIFFERENT FROM WHAT I HAVE IN MIND. I LIKE STUARTS "THE ILLUSION OF DETAIL" WHEN IT COMES TO FLORAL OR STILL LIFE IN OILS IT DEPENDS, OFTEN I WILL START WITH A TONALIST STYLE BEGINNING, OR I WILL START WITH A LARGER BRUSH AS YOU DO BUT "X" IN THE BACKGROUND IN THE COLORS I WILL BE USING IN THE PAINTING. MAKING A SOFTLY DARK OR LIGHT BACKGROUND (MOTTLED) IS THE WORD I WAS LOOKING FOR. HOPE YOU CAN MAKE SENSE OF WHAT I JUST SAID. :-)

Once again beautiful! I start a painting pretty much like you. Raw canvas, I draw out What I want to draw, but I draw in out using paint, not charcoal.. 😊
