      Of the Batman animated series that I've watched, my favorites are The Batman animated series (the one this video is about), and the 2007 "The Batman" animated series that you can find on Netflix. I haven't personally watched more than a couple episodes of Batman Beyond, but I'll have to try it.

      Its worth seeing, because it's a nice take on the possible future of the DCAU, if nothing else, but also has some great unique villains like Blight and Inque. Batman of the Future (as it was known in the UK) and Justice League were what I grew up with on Cartoon Network and were both awesome shows for me as a kid.

      Agreed. Batman Beyond deserves more mainstream love. Terry, other than maybe Dick Grayson, is the worthy successor to take up the mantle. Plus how dark and great it was. Stellar voice acting with some outstanding episodes (the Mr. Freeze one). Return of The Joker is a masterpiece! Twisted, badass, and prob in the top 3 DC Animated movies

    • @doctacos1
      @doctacos1 8 лет назад

      There's a whole other argument to support my point. Compare Mark Hamil's the Joker voice and Kevin Conroy's Batman's voice in the post 2005 works to the pre 2005's works. The quality is very different. The voices definitely aren't the same, imo, they are not as good (but I grew up with the latter mentioned voices so I am biased I'll admit).
      But that's just nitpicking, the voices are similar enough, but not the same.

    The quality of your videos is so high that it makes my head spin. Im really curious on how you "animate" the still images from comics, making them move so smoothly or even making them talk. Dou you animate/draw them yourself? Do you have access to a super secret animation library I don't know of? Either way, I'd love to know how you pull these videos off(specific programs used), they are incredible. Immediately supporting on patreon, keep up the amazing job!

      +Andres Toro Still, just think of all the work it takes to write an episode like this one, make a story board for what will show up on every part of the video, find that specific clip, and then put it all together as flawlessly as this.

    • @inventsable
      @inventsable 7 лет назад +16

      +GS Film, some of the still frame animation I've seen in these videos can be done with displacement mapping (where the image is affected by a monochromatic gradient and will stretch as the color values change) or puppet pins (which creates a polygon mesh of the object and allows individual node points or polygons to be positioned differently while keeping their relation to neighboring polygons consistent) and definitely possible in programs like Adobe After Effects. If you're curious about specifics I'd Google "displacement maps" and "puppet pin animation".
      I've seen too much in these videos to think Kristian's anything less than a skilled animator. It seems like a lot more than simple video editing or splicing together clips, I've caught instances I'm convinced were puppet pins. The X-Men talking section looked to me like 2.5D puppet pin rigging in the style of Daniel Gies, who has a pretty comprehensive video tutorial series on it.

      Kevin Conroy was still Bruce in that series too, which is amazing.

    the editing and recap makes this video worth itt, but as an enthusiast to a lot of your subjects in the last few weeks I'm not getting any new takes on these subjects. I sort of hope you go more niche and weird occasionally as you get more popular.

      I don't think that's where he would want to go with the channel. It dives just deep enough into each subject to make it interesting, thought provoking and understandable for the casual person. A very specific and unique subject would not provide entertainment to a large portion of people. However, that's just my thought, who knows where he will take this.

      I feel like these arent opinion peices or how these subjects affected him solely. there more like a way to summarize the essence of the subject, why they work so well and the best representations of them.

    The Superfriends were created by the Hanna Barbara not Filmation.

      That slip-up is going to bother a lot of nitpickers and 20th-century animation enthusiasts. For some, mixing up H-B with Filmation borders on sacrilege.

    All I can hear is passion, and joy when you describe these things. I learn about things I've heard about vaguely and see them in a whole new light, and learn so much.
    I can see your passion and uniqueness, you don't try to appeal to the masses, and thus your work is amazing.

    Genuinly, I am a huge huge huge Star Wars fan. It is more important to me that the Joker be voiced by Mark Hamill than that he play Luke Skywalker. I'm hoping Disney kills him off in the next Star Wars movie so he can secure his roll as the Joker again.
    Each time it's been anyone else, it's felt wrong. When people ask me "Who's your favorite Joker?" they always mean actor in a live action film, and I always say "Mark Hamill" because really, Mark Hamill just kinda plays Luke Skywalker. He put so much effort into the Joker, driving around practicing the different laughs. You can see his enthusiasm for the character in interviews. His eyes don't light up the same way for Luke Skywalker. He doesn't just "play" the Joker. He becomes the Joker.
