My name is Suze Yalof Schwartz,. This was incredible. I was Patrick's assistant in Paris from summer of 1997-1998 . I loved him. It was my first job and he had me glue gunning black baby dolls and buttons for months until I was worthy or getting his cappuccino down the street (he loved that place) . I then shopped for fabrics with him, travel to clubs and other places (LOL)for inspo. He had an incredible team around him : Audrey Smaltz, Liz, Touckie, Michelle, Pascal, Rashida, Carol, Larry MaryAnn, Carol, Bijorn, Connie Uzzo +++ and so many more. My favorite parts was stayed up for 24/7 before the shows assisting Audrey back stage and dressing all the models - all black except for Diane Dwitt and one redhead. Eating Liz's fried chicken - Dressing Betty Davis, Goldie Hawn and Iman - who at the time was the most beautiful woman on the planet. Patrick would call me "Miss Suzy" and "Child" and exposed me to the best music from Luther V to Whitney and more. I learned how to sew and learned to love my body from Touckie S. I have a million memories including when Patrick had me wear a snakeskin lycra halter with a plunging neckline bodysuit to pick my then boyfriend up at Charles De Gaulle ! I loved feeling the memories fill me of Patrick - that smile!!!! Only one person could take it away (me when he got a could cappuccino LOL) . This was such a beautiful film and the memories have filled my soul with so much love. Thank you for sharing his life with the world. I will share it with everyone! I love seeing Liz and Audrey and Bjorn all grown up!

I needed to watch this at this moment in my life. As a young stylist I too have a urge to bring glamour to the people around me. Thank you Patrick for setting the stage for so many after you❤️🪡🗼
I met him several times when I was working at Trashy Lingerie. Full of life, brilliance, and sans souci, he lived what he preached. Such a loss of a major talent 🥰💖💖💖💖❤❤❤🤩
This was a beautiful tribute to a great American designer. I wish this exhibition could be shown in his hometown of Vicksburg, Mississippi and what an honor it would be!
This doc should be a short shown in theaters ahead of major films so more see it. So, so inspiring and wonderful and happy and sad. I only knew of the name, but not much else until the DeYoung show and this sweet film. Pay it forward.

Knowing nothing about Patrick or his story; I watched this before visiting an exhibition of his work at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, MA in. 2022. It added so much to my experience and I am in absolute awe of his talent and legacy.
The documentary was well done and thanks for making it. I was best friends with Patrick from the time we met in Atlanta in 1974. He was an extraordinary individual, and he made everyone he met feel special and that he was happy to know you. We shared an apartment in Atlanta for a while, and continued our close friendship when we both moved to New York. We used to hang out at the Paradise Garage, where he introduced me to Iman, and I went to all of his shows. He LOVED Pat Cleveland and Billy Blair. Iman was in his shows too. When he went to Paris, I visited him three times in the 80s. I have many stories, but my favorite is meeting Bette Davis at Patrick's on Christmas in 1988. I loved Patrick, and it saddens me that no one told me of a funeral or ceremony for him when he passed. I was surprised Bjorn Amelan didn't contact me.
Thank you for this short yet magnificent documentary! I was only 20 years old when he passed. I was a W magazine subscriber and recall little of him but do recall Patrick Kelly. I'm so happy his legend continues onward and upward.
I remember when he bursted into the scene he even lifted me up in South City San Francisco in the late 80’s. He was and always be THE Patrick Kelly! RiL Buttons&Bows 💕
Thank you so much for helping me to remember the beauty of a creative soul's spirit lead mission...he was like no other, when l graduated from a design school with a Fashion degree l had no ideal how the hell l was going to break that secret code of class and race to be employed as a designer. I just thought my mid-west worker ant value system would help me to persevere .......it did not as it doesn't for many black talent that fail to make thru the gates of Oz as it were. I actually got really emotional watching this cause l so now this life very personally there should be a Netflix movie on him . Universe lets make that happen !!!!!
