During my high school days, every Wednesday of the week, myself and some selected classmates goes to our church to put some decorations like flowers and candles in preparation for the Novena of our Mother of Perpetual Help, when all the students from our school are to attend. In that moment I have a chance to look at the statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus standing on one of the pedestals. I talked to Him asking Him to give me a ray of His heart so that my heart can shine too like His. That was the moment I become a loving and compassionate person, imitating the Heart of Jesus. Every time I see people suffering, my heart cries for them. I have to help in any way I can. I help in my little quite way for the love of God.
Thank you Bishop Barron. Your words touch the hearts and souls of many. Thank you for being such a strong witness of the Catholic Faith and modeling behavior we should all follow.
Peace be with you Bishop Barron 🙇🏻♀️ Thank you for your beautiful sermon every time I hear you speak I feel so close to GOD, my heart can’t get enough of your evangelization, I want to listen more and more, you truly are a beautiful gift to us from God ♥️🙏🏼🕊
Our own Bishop Barron with his brilliant mind and great soul is WINNING HEARTS, certainly after the manner of Jesus☆ Reason for huge Thanks to our most gracious God for the blessing of this Shepherd to the Church and the world☆
Excellent homily by Bishop Barron, especially hearing this on the eve of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus 2021! God Bless brothers and sisters, I wish each and everyone of you well.
Thank you Bishop Barron. I've always wondered why there's a separate feast and devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Never truly understood it. This sermon opened my eyes. So beautifully explained. God bless you and continue to use you to build His kingdom.
Thank you so much Father Barron from this beautiful sermon about the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I was so moved by it. It reminded me of my childhood days in the rural area of the Philippines where I grew up. There’s this tiny Catholic Church across my elementary school in the town of Batasan. My 3rd grade teacher asked us one afternoon to volunteer to clean and sweep the floor of the church across the street. It so happened that I was the only who showed up. As I went along sweeping the floor, I looked at the statue of the Sacred of Jesus intently where the Heart of our Lord Jesus itself served as the main tabernacle. Even at that young age I was so fascinated on this Sacred statue where I noticed that everywhere I go at every corner of this church, It seemed like I was being followed just from the looks of His eyes. Then when I looked at His heart, I felt so at peace and so happy I truly believe now that it is in the Heart of Jesus where happiness can only be felt. G
MIND being the battleground for establishing 'dominance', The Sacred Heart Of JESUS 'Feast' celebrates the Will and Intellect (both constituting the intangible parts of the 'Flesh') also being 💯aligned with the Active Leaning Of JESUS' Soul
at 8:00 - one of my favorite examples: Luke 7:13, Jesus sees the widowed woman weeping at the loss of her only son. She didn't even know Jesus was there. She didn't come up and ask Him for a miracle. The verse simply says, "His heart was filled with pity for her, and He said to her 'don't cry.' " Then He resurrected the young man. That verse gets me every time. I don't pretend to know the Mind of God. I know He knows all things, and already knew that He would encounter her when He entered that city. But being 'moved with pity' is so human! - as if He hadn't previously intended to do so, til He saw her with his own Heart.
this brings to mind , How King David prefigured Christ , in being after the very heart of God and now that invitation is ours in seeking His Sacred Heart. The Sanctuary in Christ's Sacred Most Heart can be found nowhere else. Proverbs 21:1 - “The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.” Thank you Dear Bishop for building us up in Christ. Love you and pray for you !! Jesus bless
What a beautiful sermon, an intellectuals intellectual preaching at an intellectual institution starts at quoting theologians and philosophers only to lead to the Heart of Jesus.
I always thought the feast of the Sacred Heart was a harmless but typical example of religious pietism, but this sermon has changed all that. Thank you Bishop Barron
Our church will be opened on the first week of July. I’ld still tune in to listen to Bishop Barron’s sermon. Please pray for me and my family to get closer to God, and to much better understand His will. UK
Thank You Lord, for sending your servant St. John Chrysostom “Golden mouth”, to our troubled times, to bring back lost sheep and guide toward and keep Your faithful in the Father’s House.
Thank you so much. I am inspired and encouraged by your ministry. Your Word on Fire work helped give me the courage to take a leap of faith and start a blog and RUclips channel with a goal toward evangelization. I hope to use all that I have learned from you and others to evangelize. Through your work, I have come to know God more deeply and fully. THANK YOU!
One of your very best bishop. And relevant to the times. A lot of people are wondering about the heart of God these days. I'm one of them. So this reminder came at an opportune moment.
Visit the church on this extraordinary campus if you have a chance. It’s worth the effort. Our son attended college here and it’s one step below heaven.

Thank you Word on Fire team, Father Steve for giving those Masses as they fed me. In very intense debates with The Israelite's as Stephen and early church were. A true disciple preaches to the whole world proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ rising from the dead on the 3rd day by HaShem/God through His Spirit. Even if it results in death as Stephen the first church martyr as Father Steve talked about in his sermon 'The Stoning of Stephen'-my favorite one. I preach boldly in The Spirit of Fire/HaShem as Stephen did despite the circumstances. May God bless everybody here.

As a graduate, I can say that the college does have a heavy intellectual life, but they strive to teach “both/and.” I’m very glad Bishop Barron gave this homily and especially here. Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us all.
This is like the “discovering of America” in the 21st century. The theology of the heart which is the union of reason and will, is the core of Patristic writings and the spirituality of the Early Church. Dietrich von Hildebrandt is surely a great author, but the Catholic Church does not need to reinvent the wheel - it just needs to go back to its heritage, the spiritual heritage that has been faithfully kept by the Orthodox Church, for instance. It is so true that almost every “new bright discovery” is a well forgotten old idea)
Given how loving and compassionate a heart Jesus had for all those He had contact with, and given that we are called to love and be compassionate as He was, why do you suppose there are so many Catholics and Christians who do not do as He did, love as He loved, are not compassionate and merciful and welcoming as He was? The example is there, in Him, the words are there, the homilies from priests and pastors are there, what is missing? Why after all this time do we not yet 'get it'? That is, why have we not translated what we were taught, what we have heard, what we have seesfrom our faith leaders into action? I know we are imperfect, but that can't be an excuse, or else Jesus would have never given us, in His words and actions, the challenge. He MUST have thought we could do as He did, live as He lived, love as He loved, show mercy as He showed mercy. He knew what it was to be human too. So why have we failed to follow His loving heart?
Matthew 22:37-40 King James Version (KJV) 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Does someone know, the name of the hymn that’s playing at the beginning of the video?
Is the musical score from the intro available anywhere in full length?
The hymn is a Gregorian chant “Ubi caritas et amor, Deus ibi est.”. Where love is found, there God is.
Yes, but I Wanted to listen to it in this rendition. Its beautiful.
@@christophersrensen680 It's Veni Creator Spiritus, string quartet

What is the name of the melody at the beginning of the video?
“Ubi caritas” (Gregorian chant). Where love is, there is God.
