I don't claim the way I remove remaining glue on the spars is a 'good' way, but what I do is use more acetone on a cloth or paper towel, and if it still doesn't come off, I use the back side of my utility knife and lightly scrape it off after I put acetone on it. I forgot to mention that if the glue that is used is not softened by acetone, such as pva based glues, then this method won't work at all and I don't have any suggestion for dealing with pva based glues.
