WE HAVE A SHOWER AT LAST! - Installing this clever dual mixer from MIRA 🚿

- Now that’s what I call a shower!
Living on a farm means a good shower is always in need. To finish off the cabin bathroom we teamed up with Mira Showers in this sponsored video to film a full install of their Opero Dual shower. Having fitted a number of their showers in the past we were really excited to try out this style, (really clever light ring and buttons too!).
It’s a nice change to the more standard bar mixers but still a nice simple install.

That properly made me laugh when the dog was revealed!! Great video guys 😂
I was getting ready to write a comment asking for Jo instead of Tim 😂 Great giggle guys
Me too 😂
Good old Maggie - anything to oblige and very funny 😊 Shower looks great too!
The hardware I used is now previous generation, but the principle still applies when you plan your big house. So nobody has to sit at the tap end of the bath, use a bath filler on the side. Install the thermostatic control so that it first feeds a selector valve with options of bath, or one of the shower heads. You can then fill the bath without having to play around trying to get the temperature right.
I suspect the shower is powered by thermoelectric modules. These are normally used as heat pumps i.e. if you provide a voltage to the wires they produce a differential temperature across them using the Peltier effect. However, if you provide a temperature differential then they will act in reverse as a thermoelectric generator and produce a DC voltage using the Seebeck effect.
It's how thermocouples have worked on gas boilers for decades.
We’ve had a Mira thermostatic mixer for 25+ years, had to buy some new internals about 5 years ago, easy to source and fit. Would highly recommend Mira, when we refitted the bathroom we reused the existing mixer as the quality is so good.
Love it...just brilliant
Great job, nice looking shower👍
A nice shower - relatively easy to repair/maintain. Complete with a magic light!
Brilliant video guys.
We have two aqualisa Quartz - one with a really useful piezoelectric remote start button. Enter the shower once solid light. They have power pumps attached and when went wrong we fitted new pump units and had the old units refurbished by an independent in SE London so we have back ups as they’re no cheap.
Can’t go wrong with a mira shower they are my go to shower, as a plumber miras customer service is 2nd to non and so helpful. Had a 26year old shower could still get parts off them. I have 4mira showers in my own home
Hi Tim. Love your work 👍
What a tease you are Tim...😂. I've used Triton showers for over 30 years and have found them really good. The new mixer ones have a useful shelf integrated into the design. Black is en vogue and looks really nice 👌
These buttons [Left one mostly] of these units are known for failing
So funny. We were chuckling for ages 😂❤
Brilliant 🤣
The shower scene was Inspired film-making! Still laughing several hours later. Well-played, sir. Hi from Japan.
I went with Mira Digital after seeing it on previous video. It takes more work for the install, but if you have a loft not too hard. And it's awesome. Looking for a shower like the one in this video when i redo the main bathroom. Sold!
Now retired but always installed mira showers since the mid 1970s. Installed hundreds of mira 722 valves and they just worked every time and some of the recent releases are superb.
We have very good cold water pressure on our supply, so we went with a direct feed boiler (no tanks), which powers both of our showers at the same time with very good pressure.
Brilliant subvert at the end there 😂
Nice one Tim, Mira here, one electric and a power shower....free hot water from the solar
Thank god for Maggie! :)
Crosswater good quality stuff, tailormade bathrooms Gloucester supply it, fantastic company to deal with!!
Hi guys l love ur chanel 👍
That LED light is operated by mirrors! AJ
Hi Tim great video as always. The control unit sounded quite plastic’y. How does the quality feel? I installed a crosswater shower and bath tap/baton set in our old house. They scream quality but aren’t cheap.
I imagine the electrics are powered by a little turbine that runs off the water flowing past, I've seen cheap and nasty shower heads that do similar. I know people seem to like the rainfall shower type head but I'm not a fan personally, I don't really like my head being wet for longer than necessary 😂
Lovely old job
you should turn all the extra alan keys into a Damascus steel blade
That is looking great... didn't see the top "rain" shower head in action, does it work well?
Also what are the panels you used around the shower/bath called? Checked your other vids and can't see them mentioned when you fitted them.
Pretty budget panels but pleased with them. They are made by Zest. We bought from principality plastics in Gloucester.
Can someone help me?!! Do these guys have a second channel? Ive just been watching a couple videos about their soil being looked at, but now cant find them again?!!
Love this channel and spend most evenings catching up with the latest. I would just say that I find the audio always a bit muffled and the narration sometimes indistinct compared to other RUclipsrs I follow. Don’t know if this is a microphone issue? That said, full of admiration for all the expertise and information.
De-burring tool is a better way of sorting out cut ends of pipe work. I just wish I knew where I’d put mine…!
nice looking shower 👍is its thermostatic?🤔
Did you seal around the black plate?
Oh Tim!!! You spoilsport!!!!!! 😜😬👍
Nice! Why is your window off centre to the main wall? I went for Grohe, including body jets and it's really good.
I’d guess because it would have interfered with the shower screen if it was cantered?
@@conor-breathnach yeah but middle of screen and side wall was the way to go.
@@da_great_mogul oh yeah I get you! Might not have had the dimensions for the bath way back then?
I think it was so we could put a unit/mirror above toilet. It was so long a ago I scribbled the design I can’t remember exactly.
Watch that shower head isn't picking up the Sky signal.
😂
👊🫡
Nice install, but that loose cable next to the shower head reminded me of those so called “suicide showers” I experienced in South America. Terrifying!!
700 quid!
never again black, limescale it's a nightmare
Thanks for the tip. I was about to buy black everything, and I am in a heavy limescale area.
Having had chrome and black now I’d say there is not much difference with limescale, it seems to show as much on both. Probably more so on glass than anything.
Tim, your toilet paper is not folded into a V
20:20 thought we were gonna make the move to the Restoronlyfans Couple there for a minute 😅
😂
Is it just me, I thought there were led lights, but couldn't see them 🤷🤔🤔
Look at this Brilliant shower I have been given. Free of charge. Never going to say its no good , pointless!!!!!
"in use with a normal regular homeowner" - What jigery pokery have you guys done with the ownership of your house to have the dog own it then????? :)
