  • Subwoofer Speaker Burn In Break In for New Speakers
    Low frequency tones and noise
The sound is designed to break-in new subwoofer speaker components. Unlike music, it reproduces a full range of sound the speaker will encounter over a log period of use. It is low frequency saturated noise and random tones that occasionally sweep across the spectrum.
Burn-in time is typically 20-30 hours at a medium volume. (No need to crank it up)
The necessity to burn-in new speakers and headphones is a passionately debated topic.
The reason for the burn-in process is because speakers are typically made from paper, glue, foam or rubber surrounds, with a copper coil and a metal frame. These materials are somewhat
stiff when new. Speakers move inward and outward to convert electric impulses to soundwaves. The faster the speaker returns to its middle resting position, the better the sonic performance
This rate of return to zero is called compliance. The faster the compliance, more accurate the speaker response. As the speaker breaks in, or loosens up, the compliance changes for the better (faster compliance). So too does the speaker sound and performance for the better.
For the record, this is a relatively small change in sound quality.
During regular use, speakers break-in anyway. But if you want the speaker to sound like it will sound for the entirety of it's life after the it wears in, the burn-in audio will fast track this process.
Some manufacturers recommend a burn-in period. A few companies burn-in components at the factory Most companies cannot afford this added time and space in the manufacturing process.
There are the non-believers of speaker burn-in who speculate it is more of a placebo effect. Either way, the break-in process performed at low to medium volume is not detrimental to the speakers, so it is worth a try.
What is your experience with speaker burn-in?
It would be great to hear from you who have given it a go and manufacturers.

Man, what can we do to get your videos and channel more views? Not that you're hurting for eyeballs, but so much of your work is exceptional. Not only do they fit the ASMR/Focus/Sleeping video niche perfectly, but they're informational and so well produced.
Can't thank you enough, Dale, for all of your efforts. 🫡

Reckon this channel is an acquired taste. Videos like this rise slowly as people find it and the algorithm figures out who might enjoy it. The best way to support the channel a and build the listening community is to: watch, like, subscribe, comment and share. Thanks for the good word.

I could even listen to this for 10 hours. It is so low, slow, deep amd drones on it's almost hypnotic in of itself. 😂 LOL.

I'm so lucky that I came across your channel, especially this new upload. As someone has severe Hyperacusis, I'm extremely sensitive to sound, and it can easily trigger my panic attack. Believe or not, your videos saved me numerous times and I'm GREATLY thankful. My favorite range is between 3:03:25 to 3:03:35, it's the strongest and muffles the noise perfectly. Is it possible for you to upload something like this? Hopefully I'm not asking too much...God bless you.

I have been using these burn in videos not only for headphones and such, but also to open up my acoustic guitars!!
    It really makes a difference!

I'm now a bit worried that anything bad will happen if I continue listening to this with in-ears, but actually I'd really like to do that because that sound is really special and for me it's somehow creating a certain atmosphere 😅😂

Sound played back at low to medium volume is fine. We live immersed in sound and only in a prolonged high volume situation are sounds problematic.

My home theater consists of 23 18-inch subs and 6 15-inch subs. Total output is a hair over 50,000 watts. I can get reference at 7Hz. Can we get some tones/noise that get us those sub-20Hz frequencies?

I heard many scary stories where people hearing this constant humming in their houses couldn't sleep and become anxious.
And I falling asleep listening to this. Haahahaha 😂
    Amazing frequencies.

There’s a great video recently posted about the mystery rumble in some places. The video digs into industrial, seismic, natural phenomenon and even “T” as a potential cause. Many listeners here crave the low frequency noise, and there is the option to turn it off at any point :)🎧🔉

can this potentially work on my old speaker to make it sound new again?

    • @dalesnale
      @dalesnale  6 месяцев назад

That speaker is already broken in. If the speaker is sounding old and tired and scratchy, a recone kit or new driver will make it sound new again. This is usually done as needed ever few years.

Interesting, there's not much at 750 Hz in there, but the sound must have a distracting quality about it for your "T". Thanks for the input.

Very cool 😎. I have never come across anything like this before or even had knowledge of it. How did you become the sound genius you are in every aspect of the work you create on this channel? FYI... I cannot sleep without your Bilateral Sweeping Teal Noise now. You've broken me. LOL. Just kidding... you've actually made my sleep improve so much that I am so grateful you tweaked your original Teal one for me. When the time comes and I am able, I'm going to make a donation to your channel or charity of your choice. It won't be lots of money... LOL but I want take pay it forward for the peace of mind you've given me. 🩵🩵🩵 ( closest to Teal I could find... LOL) 💯

Thanks Zowers. I will pay that forward. I think about sounds constantly since I was 3. Tape recorder was one of my earliest spoken phrases as we had a reel to reel in the late 60's early 70's. I liked to watch the reels spin (and still do if you watch the channel trailer). The power of sound and music to evoke feelings has been a fascination since those early years. Why does a song make one, feel warm inside, bring a tear to the eye, or evoke melancholy or uneasiness. Often, music and sounds that make one feel un-easy first listen become warm and nostalgic feelings, whether it is a steam locomotive or Miles Davis. Those mysteries about the power of sound have kept me going in a music, performance production, and the last decade in a freeing creative mode here on the channel. This particular concept, though technical in its primary use, remains an artful listen (hopefully) to some degree by design for the listening community.
