The farmers really need the mechanics now a days. Please ask hubby if there is an option to hook up light indicators rather than annoying bale status beep alarms in the tractor cab.
"Working of the baler, please shut the tractor off, don't trust anything not to engage." What Ellie said at the end. We the viewers sure do like your content, be safe.
Was that uncle Jeff’s black dog chasing your rig. Thankful that you finally we able to harvest something nutritious for your cattle. With 100° days you ought to thank your bride for getting the pool. Wishing you and your family a blessed holiday weekend filled with gentle seasonally appropriate weather and restful evenings together. Peace Cole
You really get some awesome shot. I’ve been a fan of the channel for quite some time now. The channel just keeps on getting better and better. Thanks for the contact.
Those tomatoes were gorgeous. I love this time of summer. Beefsteak tomato time. Time for my second favorite sandwich, the philly cheesesteak being the king of sandwiches. Its an open face sandwich and you take a big thick slice of sourdough bread, like from one of those round loaves of bread, two thick slices of Beefsteak tomatoes to cover the entire slice of bread, salt both sides of the tomatoes and let them sit for a while then use a paper towel to blot off the water pulled out by the salt. Makes the tomato much richer tasting. Grill or broil the tomatoes till they just start getting crispy on the edges while toasting both sides of the bread. Butter one side or use mayo if you must. Put the tomatoes on the bread, on top of that some grilled Canadian bacon, a good slice of ham or thick cut smoked bacon. Put it under broiler add cheese, my faves are provolone, baby swiss or smoked gouda. Serve with a simple green salad with more tomato and your favorite vinaigrette. Iced tea and a bloody mary are required but i no longer drink alcohol so I have cold glass of V8 with a splash of soy sauce and a nice dash of my favorite hot sauce. Damn. Im hungry again.
I am doing a shingle job and in his latest video Sask Dutch Kid was trying to remove net wrap of one of his rollers. I was thinking the exact same thing.
90% of learning how to do something is learning what to do when you screw up. All TV shows and videos since the original home repair and woodworking TV shows have always made everything work the first time. I found that very frustrating because it always took me three times to get something right. So yes, show the mistakes. We learn from them.
Guys thanks for the great show. I recently had open heart surgery and I'm healing fine. But your channel has kept me entertained during this recovery. I just enjoy the wholesome family feeling. I enjoy you and your dad banter. Please keep up the good work
Is there a difference in how sweet the alfalfa is between first and second cuts? Where we deer hunt on private land, in Canada, a landowner said that he thinks there is a difference in "sweetness". The whitetail deer apparently turn up their noses at the first cut. Since the deer are not bothered by fences, they can eat where they want. Have you heard of that before?
Yum, home grown tomatoes, bacon, and cantaloupe! Good eats! On another note, it is impressive how you (farmers) can fix your equipment! I love seeing that!
Gotta hay when you can, my son and I have just a little more to do and we'll be done for the year. I had the net wrap get around the roller next to the actuator, last year, and it caused my alignment to go out, so I had to have it serviced for re-alignment, which was by operator error, me! I certainly enjoyed watching, as I always do, thanks and have a good evening and a great week!
Noticed the 2.5 gal. Water fire extinguisher mounted on the demo bailer and that you don’t have any on your bailer. Those water extinguishers are more effective on grass fires than the dry powder extinguishers you carry in the tractors. The added bonus is that you can refill them from a garden hose and pressurize with your shop air compressor. You just need to empty them in the winter or they freeze and break.
I love the new camera!!!!! Everything is so sharp!!!!! But I always enjoy all your videos.. no matter what….. Glad you got another cutting of hay..I’m still praying for rain for you all……
Couple thoughts: Rake needs greased (was kinda like nails on a chalkboard, LOL). When working on impliments (like the baler) shut the tractor down. All it takes is a glitch and you could have been in the baler. As for speed of baling, my grandfather had a neighbor that could dump a 1900+lb bale was every 35 secs. They always had the latest equpiment. Couldn't tell you what model given this was 30 years ago while I was in HS. Meanwhile, I was running the baler that had put about a million bales up (NH 850 chain baler). It'd run enough bales through it the inner side sheet metal had holes worn through.
Seeing those splices on the bale belts go around and around reminds me of a player piano. . . . I could not recognize any tunes. . . . oh sure! Maybe Brian can pick up one of his "songs" of the day. You see, I can enjoy your channel for more than just the obvious. 😊
Last year’s Hereford must’ve worked out pretty good when you sold them😂😂 to get more!! That hay sure sounded crunchy, Cole where’s the DEW 3:00 am. Thanks everyone appreciate your efforts very much.!!!!!
I like the steering knob. I assume this is not John Deer standard. Gotta' do what works. I see everyone using net wrap but I don't like it. I put my hay in the barn right after bailing sometimes the next day. I like grass twine, no plastic. Your hay looks really good. Congrats!
Used to call those suicide knobs. Very popular in hot-rod days. Don't think their legal on cars now. Having one catch onto your sleeve at 80mph was a bummer.
Every time you change oil or filter or hook up equipment I learn something new, thank you for teaching all of us and the skillls you have and being generous to pass your knowledge on to all of us🥰👍 your dad taught you well god bless Sonne farms and uncle Jeff is included in teaching us thank yous🙏💕🥰👍
One of the most important things I learn from Cole is how important regular maintenance of machinery is. He is often greasing something or changing the oil or welding up a crack that could get worse and break, or even washing something. Same with the fencing. He and Brian are always upgrading it to stave off future problems. They are always looking ahead to make things better. That's how to run any business.
Glad you are getting some nice hay for winter. Always Good to get your equipment fixed and ready to use. Good to see your dog. Take Care and Be safe on the farm. Out
Yes we have many that are like that, even had a bull that if you were moving cattle you didn’t pet him because there didn’t move and he was our biggest bull, he even let my 7-8yr old sister at the time pet him in the middle of a field or with other bulls or wherever
That new rake looks REAL good!! Got some good camera angles on it too. I think you did exceptionally well with the camera placement this time. Even better than usual, which is always dang good. I LIKE those different looks at how stuff works. As you were cutting that net wrap off I was thinking that the bales I bucked a century ago only had two rounds of twine to hold them together. I never had to mess with the wire bound ones. Thanks again Cole, great video, I enjoyed the heck out of it. Good health and blessings to everyone. Those melons and tomatoes sure looked delicious too.
Thanks for another great video Cole. You are moving right along with the baler. Nice looking hay and huge windrows. That will help the bale count for the coming months. Like that extension for bales you have on the back of the baler. Neat. Thanks for everything Cole. The Iowa Farm Boy.
As a non-farmer I always assumed the rakes were driven wheels because that made sense in my mind. But seeing them up close, it appears they're just free-wheeling and set on an angle to allow them to spin by pulling them? I guess that's probably way simpler than I imagined them to be!
I am a non-farmer as well. However, one of the farm jobs I had when I was 12 years old, was to drive a rake driven by a Massey-Harris 44 tractor. The wheels were turned by the angle on the rake wheel. I was impressed as a 12 years old. I was turning swaths over to help dry them out faster. My grandpa had two combines working in a field close by. . . . of course they were also Massey-Harris. I never did go into farming although I worked on farms in the summer to put myself through university.
It might be a stupid content request, but if possible I'd love to see an explanation of the inner workings on how the baler picks up the hay and forms the bale with those belts. I also noticed you're not using the Z model baler you were demoing in the last video, why is that? The investment in the new camera is great, Cole. Thanks. Huge improvement especially with the audio.
I was wondering the same thing about the baler. I did wonder about the new one though as it didn't have the function to hold three bales until you were at a central position to drop them so you didn't have to run all over the field to pick bales up. That is an extremely time saving feature.
Nice to see you make more hay than what you was earlier in the summer. I’m not sure if it was close to what you’d make in a normal year. Since you had some great looking windrows of Alfalfa!
3 Thoughts: 1. I love the front of the tractor and side of the rake camera angles! 2. Brian, you should branch out with the song of the day. Orchestra music (movie score) is some of the best there is! Check out "one day pirates of the caribbean" 3. John Deere needs a different "bale ready" notification beep. That thing is annoyingly loud.
Call the videos are looking great. Still the hay looks awesome. I don't know why I can't stop watching your videos. Keep up the good work. Haven't seen the misses in a while.
Nice to see you guys are getting a decent hay crop finally. Speaking of Corn Locally here in the Pacific Northwest they started chopping corn for the dairy farm industry
Man, fighting to get that net wrap off is almost as bad as getting all the long hair off the vacuum beater brush 🤣 I was like, dude, I feel your pain! Loving the new camera!!! Now I have to train myself not to jack up the volume before clicking on your vids!
I hope ungle Jeff adds in pork to the pre packaged brand. Do a variety pack option with seasoned ground meats and jerkey. You should look into a common meat brand with your brand. Example. Farm Direct - Sonne Farms Farm Direct - Our Whyoming Life One network taking orders shipping from farm chosen with back orders shipped from nearest hub. With all the plant closings, fires and OWL blueprint, Storla will soon be a shipping hub. Do resturant reviews having chefs use your beef as an event. No other supplier can fill seats selling great local grown food.
Another great video Cole. What happened to the new baler that you had on demo for the rest of the year. I suppose there was no device on the rear of the new baler to carry bales but its good to see that you got some more feed for the winter. There's a wee small field in front of our house and first cutting they baled 13 bales per acre but then we live in Northern Ireland where we have plenty of rain. Stay safe Cole and keep the video's coming.....cheers
watching you cutting thru the wrap on the baler roller reminds me of when I have to do the same thing on my vacuum cleaner roller bar. Guess farm work and house cleaning have a little bit in common! 🥴
You gave us some scary camera angles tonight, but also some wonderful vistas. You know it's gonna be hot when the national news lists Minneapolis hitting 101 on Tuesday. Uff da. ---Tomato worms attacked my large, beautiful feral plant, darn it. I'm hoping, despite my plant all wilted, that the remaining cherry tomatoes will ripen before I pull the plant. (Sure wish I could have seen one of the cows coming to get that cantaloupe! Do any of your family still call them muskmelons?!)
Excellent choice of the roulette wheel effect while raking, Cole!
GREAT VLOG Cole... You are definitely a hard worker... GBY & Your Beautiful Family ALWAYS 🙏💙🤗✝️
I like how that truck in the intro sounds, very old school !
My husband worked on and set up this baler for Sonne Farms. 😊
The farmers really need the mechanics now a days. Please ask hubby if there is an option to hook up light indicators rather than annoying bale status beep alarms in the tractor cab.

Nice shots with the camera. Happy Labor Day weekend.👍❤️🇨🇦

The sound on the new camera is great.
You really get some awesome shot. I’ve been a fan of the channel for quite some time now. The channel just keeps on getting better and better. Thanks for the contact.
Glad you finally got some bales.

I found using a hook blade like they use to cut shingles works really well to cut the net off rollers. It just slides along.
I am doing a shingle job and in his latest video Sask Dutch Kid was trying to remove net wrap of one of his rollers. I was thinking the exact same thing.
LOL I just commented you needed more Ellie and cows for my dog and you came through...thank you.
The clarity on your camera is top notch! Makes the sky look bigger and lovelier! Nice video Cole!
Thanks for showing the net wrap blunder. A lot of farming channels wouldn't show that. That net can be a bear.keep up the excellent work.

Amazing video Cole and Mr.B. thank you guys for letting us come along for the ride.
I loved eating tomatoes like an apple fresh off the vine as a kid
Except for the horrifying green horned worms. Awful.
Hello Cole and Brian great video as always
Can’t wait for this channel to reach one million subscribers!!! I look forward to each episode
Great video 👍🙂👍
Clever camera positioning! Good job!
That was some FANCY camerawork Cole while baling, nice job, thank you. God bless you all.
Yep I enjoy watching the bailing process, it's very satisfying.
Loved the sound of that old chevy!😊 I'm enjoying the new camera quality and audio! Keep up the great work!

I am from Saskatchewan and for sure second cut is the way to go. You can smell it as soon as you break open the bale.
Yum, home grown tomatoes, bacon, and cantaloupe! Good eats! On another note, it is impressive how you (farmers) can fix your equipment! I love seeing that!
Really nice camera work and editing. Thanks for the video 😊

Most of our hay has been rained on with at least an inch and we just got done with first cutting
Do you ever think about greasing that rake? Knowing me, it would drive me crazy!
Awesome Video and Much Love as Always 🌞 Farms!!!

Everyone should have a BLT with fresh picked summer tomatoes!
Last year’s Hereford must’ve worked out pretty good when you sold them😂😂 to get more!! That hay sure sounded crunchy, Cole where’s the DEW 3:00 am. Thanks everyone appreciate your efforts very much.!!!!!

Great camera shots and video! Hay looks good, so does the bacon and tomatoes. Clever way for your mom to grow cantaloupes. Miss Ellie needs a raise!
Woo wee!! That's hot!!!! Don't shrivel and melt. Drink lots of water!!!
Those darn Herefords, they become so tame that they won’t move out of your way

Your videos are awesome,
My 2 year old enjoys them very much, thank you🙏
Great to see you getting some hay.. God.Bless.
Yahoo! Fine looking cattle you got there (fancy, actually) and now, some food to get them all through the coming winter!

Priceless.
Good on Ya
I know that I’ve said it before. That bale carrier is the real nuts. 🎉
Thanks for another great video Cole.
You are moving right along with the baler. Nice looking hay and huge windrows.
That will help the bale count for the coming months.
Like that extension for bales you have on the back of the baler. Neat.

Cole, you rock!!!!…the best, Rob
Awesome video as always. 🚜🚜🚜
Another great one Cole and Brian!
Congrats! Good job!
Happy labor you guys
Imaginative, illustrative camera placement! Superb footage!
You find the most unique camera angles. Great video as usual!

Man those BLT’s would go down great with homegrown tomatoes, I believe I could eat about 4 of them.
Great video like always!
Nice to see you make more hay than what you was earlier in the summer. I’m not sure if it was close to what you’d make in a normal year. Since you had some great looking windrows of Alfalfa!
That hereford just looked at him like "what? I'm eatin here!" Can almost hear a bronx accent.
I liked the camera view from out in front of the tractor looking back while raking.
You’re coming high temps is what has been here for real over two months, constant
Thanks and GOD BLESS 😀
The new camera is rockin! Please pray for rain in the border states. It is an awful drought!!
Great camera placement Cole. 🐾👍🇨🇦

BLT with a garden tomato! That’s a top lunch!!!
That cat was in the hay field because it thought the squeaking noise from the rake was a big old mouse and came looking for it.
Cole, Duder, you've changed your vibe on the video. I like. Good job.
Nice to see you guys are getting a decent hay crop finally. Speaking of Corn Locally here in the Pacific Northwest they started chopping corn for the dairy farm industry
Ask your dad when was the last time August hay was the best cutting this has been a strange weather year so far ✌🏻👍🇺🇸

Yeah a roofing knife would work really well cutting the net wrap. It has a hooked blade.
Thanks Cole my first job was near White Lake hauling silage & grew up staking triple wire Alfalfa by hand you got it made ask Brock Lesner
Price of beef being up. And lots of hay great season
My favorite part was the squeaky rake going up and down. 😂
everyones favorite

When its 103 degrees in S.D. thats means were about to have a real scortcher in Tx.
If each turn of a screw or bolt equals one step have you and Brian taken more steps with your feet or the bolts?
Hay that was an awesome video 👍Aloha from Hawaii 🤙🏽😎🏝️
Enjoyed.
Do Farmers ever put either a little oil or dry silicone, that doesn't attract dust, on squeaky equipment ??

Great work. I like your new baler
