What are the regulations one company must follow before getting listed on stock exchange ?
Like 1. Company must earn profit in last 3 years.
2. Company must submit a fixed amount to SEBI as gurantee and fees.

Great work, but NII category also gets allotment in the same way as Retail - lottery if oversubscribed and not pro rata to all the investors. I have bided in NII category on Day 1 but still hasnt been allotted due to oversub. So not pro rata for sure.

Dear Sir are there many IPOs which are oversubscribed several times ? are there many IPOs which list at a substantial premium to issue price ? if so it implies that the promoter has fixed issue price i.e. offer price at a substantial discount to fair price. Why would a promoter offer shares at a substantial discount to fair price ? around 1990 a Govt agency used to fix issue price. After few years promoters were given freedom to fix issue price

Now, pls. re-check the info shared in the video from time stamp 4.00 mins to 4.15 mins. Seems an error in the situation assumed and the explanation provided.
I mean, how can all investors get at least 1 lot each (+ more lots proportionately to those who applied for more than 1 lots) if 25000 lots are available when bids are received for 35000 lots !
Unless you meant the no. of investors making those bids for 35000 lots are less than 25000.
If so, this is not clarified in the video. And with that clarification, I can say there’s no error in the explanation.
But if not, then the explanation is not correct because lottery system will apply in this case too (as you explained for the next situation where more than 1 lac bids are received).
Exactly, I've also noticed the same....
I think this formula is works in the situation where ipo is under subscribed, then company provides shares in proportionately after single lot for those who bid for more than 1...

Dear Sir if I want to apply for shares worth Rs. 3 lakh in an IPO and if one lot is worth Rs. 20000 should I apply for 9 lots as a retail investor or 15 lots as HNI ? in which case I have more chances of allotment if issue is oversubscribed ?

Ravinder Kumar check out for GMP of the IPO. These days IPO's are more of driven by market trends then by fundamentals check out for IPO's which command high GMP. Those are likely to open at a high price due to high demand. But then there is low probablitiy that you will be alloted any shares due to high subscription

Hi... Normally in the secondary market you never know how market behaves,and it's so very volatile...And as a trader you won't get the clear picture of the stocks performance unless you hold for some time.
The major difference you get from IPO is to get over subscribed n get listed for some good stock price on the 1st day of listing...
And if the stock has a good reputation n demand in the market looking at its past performance n balance sheet,then you will be lucky to get it from IPO rather than spending huge amount in secondary market for the same stock.
