The way I see it, he's really trying to get that far. Sans is mustering up all the Determination he can manage, but as a monster he can't get to Chara's level. In this case, his Determination grows so large that it starts bending reality, but of course as a monster he's melting from it, and Frisk/Chara's reality-bending is still stronger than his. Finally, at the end, he's built up so much Determination that he, for an instant, reaches a human level, able to pull off a single attack that's as unavoidable as a human's, something that's far beyond the capabilities any monster should have, and for the single and only time, the two attacks are on equal footing... but Frisk/Chara's attack is very slightly more centered.

The truth is that the difficulty is a bit equal to that of FDY in his games, hopefully FDY does the last breath sans phase :) (actually I speak Spanish and everything I said I translated in google xd )
I wish FDY would make their games more balanced. Like for example the phase 3 remake, even on noob mode it’s a hell of a fight to do. By all means I love hard games, but when even on noob mode the fight is almost impossible, there’s a big issue.
I just thought , if undyne the undying used a determination soul and was controlled by gaster , she would be a tiny bit more determined than sans I think

he is melting because monster cant have determination unless if they absorb the determination soul the only monster what was able to use determination was undyne

chara has like only 100 dt when sans has 110 but with the power of charas abilities, it can kill sans.
