Konami made a whole series of games using the same shell and technology. Popular variants include this Blades of Steel game along with Top Gun and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Anyone own one of the other, less common games?
@@ProfessorYana I remember an ad myself featuring that game alongside the other ones Konami made. In fact, I think that ad might've been my earliest exposure to the turtles.
Honestly, I don’t think I’ve ever had to change one before and I don’t think you can check them properly without an oscilloscope anyway (and I haven’t got one of those). It was pure luck that I noticed it making that crackling noise when I touched it and that seemed odd so I replaced it and got lucky. 🤷🏻♂️

I wish! I definitely remember seeing a lot of ads for the TMNT one in old comic books, though!
I had the Skate or Die one - and judging from a glance at eBay, I wish I knew what happened to it!

Never look up the prices of ‘things you used to own’ on eBay 😂

This game was a part of a Christmas challenge at my uncles place.. so I have played it once every second year since 1990... :)
I’m sorry I was so bad at the game in the little demo at the end! Your uncle would not be impressed! 😂
Crystals are often glued down. I think it might be so they don't resonate?
Ah maybe, that would make sense. It was definitely some kind of glue slopped all over it. Well, it isn’t glued down any more! 😂🤦🏻♂️
Always nice when it's an easy fix like that. Is it common to check the crystals in units like that?
