As a Shostakovich fan, this piece doesn't represent the composer very well, imho. His symphonies are where he shines (especially 5th, 7th, 8th, 10th, 11th) Edit: I forgot about the 14th. The 9th and 15th are lighter, but very good. In the end, each one of Shostakovich's symphonies shines.
Just got the eco as my first fountain pen after discovering this channel and becoming obsessed with fountain pens and it’s been amazing! I got the eco clear and have been using Diamine Sherwood green and it’s the most fun I’ve ever had writing
Watching this video I sooooo fell in love with the pen and the ink, I finally got a twsbi eco. A jump up from my kakuno I say. For the ink I wanted something waterproof but love the oxblood color, so I got noodler's red-black. I am in so much awe with the combo that 90% of the time this is what I use now.
We don’t get a lot of TWSBIs in India but I’m excited to get my hands on one of them. A demonstrator pen with colorful ink swishing around looks so good.
@@HemingwayJonesI probably should have done, but a few minutes with feeler gauge and micro-mesh, and it writes extremely well! I actually quite like tinkering, but it might have been a reject for someone not interested in making adjustments.
For me, it’s all about the nib & the fill mechanism. I would love to focus on some more entry level pens on the channel. I try to keep things affordable. Thanks for the comment.
@@HemingwayJones the wing sung 629 is a piston filler, and the one I have with a medium nib is really smooth. Also the PENBBS brand has some incredible filling mechanisms for under 40USD
@@jacobus57 can’t speak for customer service but the quality on my 580 is…ok at best. Nib writes well and cap seals, but the piston has a lot of slope and the cap liner is really challenging to remove.
I like medium for a nice balance of ink expression, smoothness, and write-ability. Otherwise, it depends on how you write and which line width you prefer.
Twisbi is my jelly jam. I'm new to fountain pens, but already own 5 and one is the Eco and another is the Diamond. They are great, but getting that ink clean out of that chamber is a pain in my rump ha ha! Also love that your song is Korean ❤
You can take an Eco completely apart for cleaning and maintenance, it’s one of the reasons they are my preferred pens. I hate to take the back end off, so I usually just pull out the nib and feed for soaking and flush the body out with a syringe, then let everything dry out overnight.
I don't. You and everyone else that doesn't speak the way I do, does. Especially the rude people that have never evidently encountered an accent other than their own. They baffle me.
Ew. No. Apart from the cracking issues, twsbi has terrible quality control over all, bad customer service, and a ceo with a horrid attitude to his customers and retailers.
I haven’t experienced any of that and I have a bunch of them. I haven’t heard the stories about the CEO either. I’ll have to ask my friends who own pen shops about their experiences. All the best.
For those who don’t know how smooth TWSBI is….. you need to get one to understand the feeling. It cannot be explained. It’s probably the smoothest pen in any category I have used
TWSBI and Shostakovich... a classy pairing indeed. Hemingway Jones, your videos always surprise and delight the eye, the ear, and the mind.
Thank you very much! That is very kind of you to say. I am so glad you are enjoying these.

Fantastic to hear! That is an excellent choice. You really don’t need another pen. Excellent job and thanks for the kind words!

Excellent. That is a big part of the fun. I often have my Eco filled with Krishna Moonview 2, a wonderful ink from India.
We do get Twsbi pens in India. Both online and in stores 😅
I have a couple of the twsbi diamond demonstrator models. Custom EF Nib work. Excellent writer.
As a fountain pen newbie, my small collection has a few TWSBIs! They're so wonderfully easy to use and make for such a great writing experience! ❤
Totally agree!
Agree! Great pen.
Love my TWSB! Such a great, reliable writer
Just got my first and it’s hard starting and stalling like crazy. Need to dig out my thin sheets at work the tines a little!
That’s the worst. So sorry. Don’t be afraid to send it back.

Good morning. I have several ecos in different colors and nib sizes luv them. I have also given a few as gifts.
Wonderful!
Could not agree more! I love this pen and have about eight of the that I use for sketching
Nice! It is a classic! Love it.
Could you share the nib size of the demo you showed? I love that line thickness. ❤
This one is a fine, but their stub is awesome if you like thick.
Totally agree. I have two twsbi eco pair with diamine shimmering inks.
Me with my 2.5 dollar jinhao 65 fountain penb🙂
What about the grip cracking reports? Overblown?
People seem to have issues. I have not, but many have, so I would take that seriously. Thanks.
I agree, I love ❤️ my ecoes 😊
They are excellent pens! Such a joy to use.
My wife loves hers and she's pretty picky too! Think I might pick one up for myself soon.
She has excellent taste.
That ink looks sooo beautiful. Which one is that?
Thank you! That is Diamine Oxblood. One of my favorites.
thank you. Definitely getting a bottle in near future. @@HemingwayJones
What ink are you using in this video.
This is the Mighty Diamine Oxblood. One of my consistent favorites.
35 buck?!!! Did I head that right 🎉🎉
Yes, retail, often for less. All the best!
Jinhao, Wing Sung and Moonman are starting to give them a run for this title IMO

The fine nib is most like a .5 pen to give a reference
35$? I can only get it for 50€

Can I mention Inkquiring minds making a video on this named TWSBI Declares WAR on Moonman and Narwhal ?
