Mediocre Milton I have a complete garbage pc that I can just barley play on with this game on the lowest or others on the lowest graphic settings and this definitely helps my computer fans have a break for once because they are *l o u d* so that also saves me the headache
I’ve seen a few different layouts for the farm poi, and there can be multiple in a map. They’re always in hayfields. There’s also a woc pen that can be in hayfields which have about 4-6 wocs in a wooden fence. These wocs might actually stay in the pen, but I haven’t tested it.
My base location is perfect. It has a a full size flat chunk for a mega farm which is right beside a lake. 7396 plots total. I also have chemicals within pumping range when I'm just chilling at my base. Oil within sight but out of pumping range. A close but no too close tower in the forest hat spawns about 5 haybots. 2 caged farmers. One is in a autumn forest so I have cotton. I also have paint flowers. I have heaps of corn around and cows spawning everywhere giving me as much milk as I need. It also had a cool rock that I'm building my base around which is covered in honey. There is also a red boss bot who spawns the perfect distance away and is really easy to escape from. So I also have a steady supply of keys. Only downsides is the water is just out of passive pumping distance which is also a good thing dince the mega farm isnt too close. And a red bot once spawned at my base. I have no clue about it since it hasn't happen a second time. One day i just came home and he was just standing there. Didnt attack anything and was lead away easily.
How big is your farm? Im planning on making a 7396 plot farm. The maximum possible size to trigger only 1 raid. I have found the spot but have yet to erect walls (need more t3 metal) and fill in all the soil. I also found a spot to make a small 4xMax raid farm which would be fun to try make and fight sometime down the road.
I ended up putting my farm right next to scrap city for the same reasons. Also I've noticed the drop rates on components are much better there as well...
i built a farm on a peninsula, there was just more space than you'll ever need. bots come from 1 side and sawblades in the water scare them away from the water so they dont go to the sides. then they walk to a spinning bar kina like a combine harvester which they try hitting but can't. and then there's a piston crusher above them to finish them off
SM gameplay: you get resources to bild a car you find trader you find packing stations you plant plants to get crates you transport crates to trader you find dudes in round prisons you buying spudgun you shoot farmbot to get key you find the Warehouse you getting up to a roof... ...and gameplay stoping before Chapter 2 release.
I found an area like this in my save, but it was very small and the other plot/flat area was also small and around 10 seconds running time away. By small I mean around 150 plots each large in terms of area. Also, all it had in terms of loot was a bucket and one of those wheelbarrows with a few seeds.
The layouts do vary. He also has more soil bags than there is actually clear soil terrain, but these areas are always flat and have a source of water so they’re nice.
This plot of land is great for giant farms but if you clear out those wooden shacks that spawn by the roads, you can have smaller plots of land that are perfectly flat and clear as well.
My map has a nice flat hilltop area along the road and I was planning to use the foundations for farm plots. The downside is it's not that close to water.
if durability 6+ works against hay and tote bots. what about the farm bots or scrap/explosive shooter bots that spawn when farming rarer vegi"s??? with the plot size you have id imagine the raid will be tremendous, and if there"s a block that can"t be destroyed by any of them?
According to the game files, it looks like durability of 6 or more works against totebots but you need 8 or above for haybots. I believe only tier 3 metal blocks have that much durability. As for farmbots, they can damage level 9 durability items. That's why only items with durability 10, like warehouse keys, are indestructible. I'm not sure about tapebots because I they just do ranged attacks but I think people say that 6 durability is enough for them.
So bots don't spawn on man-made blocks? I'm building a farm in a haymaze but bots sometimes spawn on the outer corridors of the maze and i want to build back there
The plateau is not ok. I tried it! Somehow a greenie spawned up(or bugged up) and it's killed my all plants, while I was killing the haybots on the other side. It wasnt funny :D
eh I don't mind raids myself your right to easy but at the same time, your missing out on all those resources. instead of having to constantly to out for all the component kits and stuff, I get them while I farm so I get 2 birds with 1 stone.
Lol. Yer island is in same general area as mine. I build my base above water tho.. and set it adjacent to the farm plot on land. Bots rarely spawn.. i didnt expect it. Build everything hearty and set up all these defenses.. and most i got is 1 tote bot and 1 haybot, with 256 broc planted. Weeks of mining and chopping to make level 3 wood and metal. Bah. I have yet to encounter the abandoned farm.. tho ive heard of it. Have you thought about the maze? You can plant 4 - 100 dirt plots in center.. and each section triggers its own raid. 4 lvl 10 raids at once.. and you can rig the maze with booby traps.. even trap the perimeter. I planning on doing that.. just to torture the bots. Build a platform above and herd them to their doom. Lol.
Best place to farm is on top of the montains around the trader, bots cant spawn there nor climb up there, so u literali have to do nothing. Tho if u do this the game can get too boring Edit: u would need to do an automatic water system from the pond in front of the trader.
I never built in spots like that for the reason you mentioned. It’s boring. The only thing the game has right now are raids so if you don’t defend against them you might as well play creative.
have a buddy who has a lake a hop skip and a jump away from his mechanic shop backdoor. Lucky bastard.. but i had cotton not very far.. and an ember forest triple the normal size right next to trader area. It is what it is.

I have seen this same POI on my own game and thought it would be a perfect spot for farming. Nice to see a RUclipsr agree. Just earned another sub :)
Hello how and where to find that POI ? Thanks for helping :)
one question, where should I be looking for this "farm"? I've searched half the map and i haven't found it yet.
that farm is gonna be massive!
Fun drinking game every time he says "actually" take a shot!
57 shots in 15 minutes, whew.

I personally believe the maze is so much nicer. Not as big, but so easy to defend

I think that where the trader is has natural walls and water
That farm is huge, I wish i could make something that big. I think i saw a place like that on my world so it seems I will be moving my farm very soon.
@Computer Boy I like raids though, they are easy and are fun to find different ways to defeat.
Thanks Milton😄
It may have a perfectly flat area, but it's near impossible to defend.

If you place a platform over the farm the farmbots won't be able to destroy the plants nor the platform
Can you see if food crates are invincible. pls.
one hit from a haybot unfortunately

If the Walls are made of tear 3 metal then that's bad if you see a big red robot Because it can break tear 3 metal
Farmbots have a 1% chance of breaking Metal 3
The best place to make a farm is on the desert mountain thingy
No bots can get up
Scrapman sent me here 😊
Mine is behind the trader, but there is no ocean though.
soooo question, you said haybots and totebopts cant destroy durability 6 blocks, how about farm bots? how do you deal with those?
The last update changed it so Haybots and Totebots now attack all building blocks. Farmbots I would build out of Metal 3 but they can still break it.
Lol. Yer island is in same general area as mine. I build my base above water tho.. and set it adjacent to the farm plot on land. Bots rarely spawn.. i didnt expect it. Two things i need: Max production and no raids.
Build on an island or plateau and they won't be able to attack the farm.
