@@timberlaner6458 it was a Netflix documentary. And other animal rights groups on FB. Plus PeTA has a lot of evidence on his animal exploitation. And everyone knows is one of the most notorious exploiters of tiger cubs in the country. Why he's investigated so often? Even so, there is only a brief period during which the cubs can be handled. So, Antle steadily breed cubs to use in this money generating business. But, according to his USDA census, he only houses 51 tigers at his park. So, tell me since you know them that well, where do all these cubs go when they are too old for him to use to make money?
My daughter and I visited MBS several years ago and we still talk about it! The animals are cherished and well cared for. I've heard the negative stuff, in my opinion it's just jealousy from competitors. We went on a day when it wasn't too busy and got to chat with many of the people there, even accidently ran into Doc's mom!!!! An amazing woman! These are good people who live a little differently than you or I. Another trip is in our future, that's for sure!
I can't believe how amazingly gentle Bubbles is with the visitors. She just stands nice and still for pics and hugs. She even takes the carrots ever so gently as if she doesn't want to startle the guests. She's amazing and has definitely become my favorite
when i was about to turn 12 years old, my family and i went to myrtle beach. i have always been an animal lover, i’m a Leo and love lions so much, and all big cats (especially cheetahs and jaguars, they’re just so magnificent) so my parents thought they’d take me to this place where you can get your picture taken with tiger cubs... they had a white tiger cub there doing pictures that evening. i was so excited to see them. they are just so regal and again, being i’m a Leo i’ve always felt so close to them and had such a respect for them. because of being born on july 23rd the first day of ♌️ season... our family vacations almost always fell during my birthday week. so i got to celebrate my birthday on vacation at disney world, the beach, various places, and i’m so thankful for my parents and all they’ve done and still do for me and my brother. so, getting to hold a baby tiger and get my picture made with it was my “big birthday gift” during this vacation. i sat down on this bench, and this lady plops a tiger cub down in my lap while giving it a bottle... she jerks the bottle away and i’m told to smile!!!! and i was like “whoa this is all happening so fast” and before i knew it i was ushered away. now my parents paid A LOT of money for this 30 second experience for me. and it happened so fast i don’t even remember if i got to pet the tiger even... we bought the picture... and even in the picture of me holding this little baby tiger, you could see the confusion and conflict i felt in my eyes and face. it was a fake, half smile, almost like i was holding back tears. and it really stuck with me. on the way back to the hotel, i’m looking at this picture, and i just start crying my eyes out. and my mom and dad are like “oh my gosh what’s wrong are you hurt are you okay?” and i said “mom, i don’t ever want to do that again...” and she said “oh no i’m so sorry did it scare you?” and i said “no, but these baby tigers should be with their mommies... where were their moms? they said they were just born 6 weeks ago and it’s really sad that they took these babies away just to take pictures of them with people they don’t know... i think the tigers were scared, and i feel bad if i scared it” and my mom starts to cry. and i’m like “mom no, i appreciate the present, it was a good birthday present, i’m sorry i dont want to upset you” and she says “no honey, i’m not upset, i’m crying because i’m so proud of you.” and we decided never EVER to give money to anyone who exploits animals like that. before i ever knew the word exploit, before i ever knew what was really going on in order to get those rare pictures... i had a bad feeling about it and although i loved the animal, i hated the way it made me feel to be there holding it. i shouldn’t ever be holding a baby tiger, definitely not not for a photo op. no human should be. it’s just despicable to think about all the $ they make while exploiting these babies. and then you wonder, all these babies grow up and then what happens to them? they don’t stay babies forever? i just hate it. every time i see these things, i feel that grimy gross feeling and i can’t stop thinking about that day. there’s better ways to spread awareness about the conservation of endangered animals... you don’t need to charge money for photos with baby animals... you don’t need to breed in captivity if it’s not going to be released to the wild. the numbers don’t lie... and when we now have more tigers in captivity than in the wild... there’s a problem. don’t be a part of the problem. be a part of the solution.
you know that know if they release all their tigers they will all die ? Because of massive poaching and habitat destruction you can see in india leopard have not enought space in the wild that they live in city !
AICHOU NACIRY you know i never said they should release a single animal... however i do think the captive breeding of any endangered species just to be killed after 12 weeks is sick though... maybe they could NOT breed them to be petted, exploited, killed... but you know, breed them to be released. they say “save the tigers, save the world” but exactly how are they saving the tigers IN THE WILD? they don’t do anything but profit off of their captive tigers when they could actually be helping the wild population... but then again, that would be more of a selfless act of kindness and you can’t make that much money off of them if you do that, it means no petting when they’re young... why should i even explain these things? y’all don’t fucking care anyways. you’re probably FINE with the fact we’re going to have to literally move to mars because we’ve killed our earth, and you probably don’t care that there’s ONLY 3,890 tigers left in the wild AND THATS IT. we have more in captivity being used as photo ops. it’s fucking sad dude. but i’m sure i should just “go take my meds”.
Shannon Williams I got the same picture and was quite irritated with how quick it was. Literally 30 seconds. 150$ for it. I’m ignoring everything else. They could have let us see the animals for more than deadass 30 seconds. There wasn’t even a line. These tours are hundreds of dollars. I think it’s cool what they’re trying to do but not affordable and not even worth it. They’d reach a lot more people but it’s a business these are million dollars businesses.
Also the issue isn’t exactly poaching. They couldn’t breed and release. The issue is beyond that. Habitat deforestation, climate change, droughts, poaching, etc. conservation starts with changing human ways like our carbon footprint, water use, burning fossil fuels, sooo much. That’s what’s really killing tigers. It’s killing earth too.
Mya Q that’s the whole meaning behind “save the tigers, save the world”!! and i 100% agree... but breeding them just to be petted for 12 weeks then killed because they can’t afford to feed them till they’ve lived out their life is despicable. the only way this will ever get better is if we stop plowing through the small bit of habitat they have left, create more reserves for them to live and breed, and stop taking peoples money for a 30 second photo op just to put that money into more captive breeding and put it into creating these reserves in the wild habitats for tigers who are already there, and taking wild tigers from outside of these reserves and bringing them to that safe place. no fences, no guns, no man. just a huge plot of land where researchers can watch the tigers from a distance to see if they’re breeding and reproducing, and keep them safe. that’s conservative and preservation. i’d like to see how much they ACTUALLY donate to conservation of WILD tigers and not just conserving their own captive ones... with that many animals, even at the expensive rates of their tours, most of that $ is just being put back into their facilities and food. not saving the wild tiger population by fighting for their natural habitats to be saved. that’s the thing that grinds my gears the most... and the scam that “for a small price of $150 you can get your photo taken with a tiger and you’ll help save them” i mean let’s be honest, that $150 is going to feed the tigers i just saw in cages... don’t lie and tell me that the literal 30 seconds it took you to take my photo with a baby tiger will save their habitats because i was 12 then and i’m 33 now and so far, it’s only gotten worse, like a lot worse. ughhhh.

Tawny, thank you for showing us the video. I loved every bit of it. Thank you for explaining who you are to Doc Antle. You are so fortunate you grew up there at the Safari and you dad is Doc Antle. Please keep showing your videos. I have mentioned I think to Moksha that I want to go there some day. This is on my bucket list. My granddaughter said she will bring me one day and it would be fun if I could also bring my great grandbabies. Thank you again for the video.
My husband and I went in march this was one of the best experiences of my life I loved every second of it the animals are loved and are beautiful every single one of them
It’s interesting to watch the videos on this channel after watching “The Tiger King” on Netflix. I wonder what the finances of the Myrtle Beach Safari look like. Feeding and caring for animals [properly] is expensive. Overall it kind of looks like a theme park with wild animals. I do wonder what happens to all the tiger cubs [that are there for the guests to pet] when they grow up - tigers are only cubs for a small percentage of their lifespan.
Linda C I think it would be very reasonable to pass a law requiring all those entities keeping animals like tigers to transparently account for them over their entire lifespan. If a tiger cub is found on the premises of a business / non profit, that entity should be required to account for what happens to that tiger over time - it should never be permissable for such an animal to just disappear from the premises of that entity without a trace.
@@slovokia I think that the law against sales was supposed to take care of that, but there are always loopholes. I'm not certain of all of the ins and outs of the case, but last December USDA was there to look into cub DNA. It may have been to trace former cubs (one of which wound up in TN), or maybe the USDA is just making sure that more cubs don't miraculously appear or disappear in their shift from SC to winter grounds in Fla.
These people charge outrageous fees for all the interactive activity with ALL the animals. Their fees are like Disney on steroids. That's how they fund the place and also line their pockets very nicely. It all appears all family fun and peachy keen but believe me this is a money making machine that is 100% all about the money and don't be fooled into thinking it's all about the animals. Truth is its ALL about the HUMANS😎

That's so jacked up how Netflix did the Antles and fam. They included his own daughter as part of his "harem." Like, did they even open their eyes and ears? It is like, how can this facility even remotely compare to the others featured?
I get that this is a beautiful place.... and we are getting to see all the beautiful-ness..... but what one needs to be aware of is that all these cubs and other baby animals.... well,.... they don’t stay babies forever..... show us where all the cages are.... how all these “world biggest cats” are kept on a daily basis. With all of the cubs you guys have had over the years.... y’all should have hundreds and hundreds of big cats.... let the world see how they are being taken care of. Not just the “show”, but the ACTUAL behind the scenes. Also, I don’t believe one should have to be able to hold or pet a tiger cub to have all the respect in the world for it. I place no judgement, just need to see the actual “whole picture” before I decide if this is a good place or not.
Christina Medina have you watched tiger king on Netflix? Her dad is in it I don’t think this place is a good place at all he runs like a cult where he has like 6wives that work for him there and the man easily puts the cubs down when there out of the prime age to make money on they only keep a few for those running demonstrations. Disgusting.
Have you seen Blackfish on Netflix about SeaWorld? I worked for the company for years, and the keepers love those animals with all of their hearts. Would you guess that after watching the documentary? Absolutely not. Bias is embedded in documentaries just like any other media. These guys trade animals with zoos to prevent inbreeding among the growing captive population. They don’t euthanize them unless medically necessary
@Luke what exactly does that have to do with the initial issue raised which is the status of the tiger cubs as they age. I like Tawny and Cody but none of us know everything.
Dang ! I don’t support animal abuse I love animals and I’ve heard stories of animals like these being abused and if you don’t support them why watch their videos?

Who's here after watching the Tiger Kind documentary on Netflix?? Man I always had a weird feeling about a guy who calls himself "Bhagavan"(which means God/Lord in Hindi/Nepali). I had this suspicion since the early days (when "Doc" Antle used to run T.I.G.E.R.S.) that this guy is up to no good because he bred Ligers. While they may be awesome to look at, Ligers come with a lot of genetic issues and defects since they're not supposed to occur naturally in the wild. I don't have problem with the Antles running a "Wildlife Theme Park", because let's face it, that's exactly what it is...NOT a Sanctuary. So if you want to run a business to turn a profit, by all means do it (as long as the animals aren't harmed). But don't you DARE call it "Conservation" because it clearly is NOT. Real conservation is done out in the wild in the natural habitats by actual conservationists who work tirelessly day and night to ensure that wildlife habitats are protected. What you're doing does NOT in any way shape or form help animals in the wild.
youre not actually correct with the point you made about ligers. Are you forgetting that the range of the lions and tigers were once so great that they literally lived alongside eachother? They interbred all the time and so ligers have been around for centuries, what happened? A sea of people and cities got in the way and seperated these two massive populations into a few pockets where they still survive today. Breeding to create ligers is literally bringing back this ancient beast that used to roam a long time ago, you can do countless google searches the ligers in captivity are perfectly healthy and aren’t known to have any genetic imperfections. Yes they are massive, but that doesn’t mean they have poor bone structure or that they are in pain, its quite the opposite. And before you tear me apart, I have actually worked at a large facility in florida where we cared for 2 ligers and other rare species of cats and bobcats.
@@capeuntamed Oooo look everybody, we have an Evolutionary Biologist among us!! FYI, there is absolutely NO evidence that points in the direction of Lions and Tigers interbreeding when their ranges overlapped in the past. There are absolutely NO fossil records of Ligers or any other genetic material that suggests that Ligers in fact existed in the wild. Where are you pulling out these "facts" from?? From your ass?? Also, to point out another flaw in your logic - just because two big cat species cohabited similar ranges does NOT mean they ever mated. Look at India and Africa in the present day - Lions and Leopards exist together in the savannas of Africa, similarly Tigers and Leopards exist together in the jungles of the Indian Subcontinent. They're all descendants of the genus Panthera, hence technically they could mate and reproduce. So then why have we not seen hybrids of Lion/Leopards or Tiger/Leopards out in the wild today??? That's because when these cats encounter each other in the wild, they will claw each others eyes out, NOT make sweet love to each other! Lastly, the "countless google searches" you mentioned about so called "healthy" Ligers all come from exactly the kind of establishments such as Myrtle Beach Safari, GW Zoos or any other private zoos, whose main motive is to use Ligers to bring in customers for profit. Therefore, your so called "sources" already have a vested interest to publish biased information in their favor because it serves them to do so. Honestly, how can you not see this??? For every google search that shows healthy Ligers, there is another search that show unhealthy Ligers. So who do you believe? This at least calls for a proper investigation into the matter.
EyesOfTheLion 11 lol we got a mad lil keyboard warrior here :) I never claimed that im a biologist of any sort with my comment I worked at a facility and heard the folks there talk about the history of ligers and it fascinated me. I will never lower myself to your style of using fallacies and capital letters to reinforce an argument which you could easily put fourth without using salacious prounouns to ‘attack me’, I was simply forwarding something that I learned working in this fantastic industry. You very well might be right on this and what I was told may not have been 100% accurate and I’m okay with that, that’s why we exist, to learn and adapt. I just found your personal way of addressing me to be quite disrespectful. God bless
@@capeuntamed You're right, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have used such foul language whilst responding to you. Its just that I get very passionate about matters regarding wildlife (especially big cats) since I work in wildlife conservation and this is just an outburst of anger due to people making false claims about wildlife conservation whilst treating animals like dirt. It gets really frustrating at times as it is quite a thankless job. Having said that, that's not an excuse for the way I behaved towards you. I apologize again. And thank you for not retaliating and responding in a calm and collected manner. Have a good day sir/ma'am. P.S. - as far as Caps go, I was just trying to emphasize a point.
My husband and I went in march this was one of the best experiences of my life I loved every second of it the animals are loved and are beautiful every single one of them
So cool, Doc u the man. Thanks again for your work u do & your staff and family
Yep! We all ask ourselves
@@slovokia
I think that the law against sales was supposed to take care of that, but there are always loopholes.

Merci pour le tour. Beautiful.
I can't wait until I go there. I will be there later this month.
Woow 😯
Keep up the great work Tawny
@@ludoplays2947 it is literally impossible that they kill tigers if the will do that they will be put in jail long time ago
@Luke what exactly does that have to do with the initial issue raised which is the status of the tiger cubs as they age. I like Tawny and Cody but none of us know everything.
@@bhayward00 Great but what does Seaworld have to do with this? Two different situations.
Awsome.Your an amazing host.

I think this is just amazing!!!
I feel for you that your father is Doc !! I just watched the documentary on him and his past. Wow. I hope that justice is served for marks life.
Looks like a great place!
Just know you you brother Are such a good family to these babies
To all the people commenting so much hate, if you really took the time to watch ALL their videos you would know how the animals are treated, stop accusing someone for animal abuse and ect.. go spend your time commenting that on places that actually need to be shut down, just because you watch one tiger documentary on Netflix doesn’t make you a professional xx
Very good.bless up
Beautifull elephan
Wish I could make it down to Myrtle beach. Love from Las Vegas 🐅 🐯
You are very beautiful tawny and I love your passion for what you do
oh I so wish I could go to the safari, what a dream that would be.
This is what family is
Almost visited this place 4 years ago and I was really excited but then we couldn’t make it. Crazy to think of how well known it is now
Who's here after watching the Tiger Kind documentary on Netflix??
I was trying to be rude with caps lol.
