- Tauri is a rust-based system for making small, fast, and secure applications using system Web views for desktops (and mobile very soon). In this talk, I will speak about the history, philosophy, approach, and future of the OSS Project Tauri.
Special Thanks to Microsoft for their support

Boy does this check all the boxes for what I want out of desktop development. I'm so excited for this
36 years in this industry and finally you've nailed it. And I have the same feeling with Svelte. I'm in love with development again. God bless all of you bro :)
I love the subtle React digs
Thank you - good talk 💜
I am a big Tauri fan. Love how the lower layers got split as independent crates (e.g., WRY, TAO). Great software engineering all around.
Planning to do some tutorial videos and use it for couple personal projects. I hope we start seeing some “big production” Tauri apps soon.
Your video tutorials are great
I wish you would do a full playlist on your projects
Thanks for what you do
Thanks for mentioning the environmental point, it’s a very big subject for me, and Tauri is a very promising technology to getter better on this, like static websites generators for the web.
Great work!
Denjell, it's a joy listening to you!
I have just recently started learning Rust and have been creating an article and video series on Rust to strengthen my understanding of the language
But GUI had been a huge issue for me as i have no prior experience with GTK or QT
and egui (Rust GUI Library) though quite good, felt too cumbersome to work with after trying for a couple of days.
Having worked a bit with web technologies, Tauri was a god send when i was really confused on how to move forward.
HTML, JS and CSS are the staples and something most devs will already know
and I'm really thankful towards Daniel and the other team members of Tauri for having developed this awesome framework.
I hope that their dedication and work to help us create secure, fast, small and environmentally friendly softwares gains a lot of traction and support.
Great news from a great project! Congrats.
Love the Tauri philosophy, it has great potential for the future. Looks like I found what I was looking for, to create my big project on Rust. Mobile devices support needed too.
Thank you for your thoughtfulness and perspectives. It’s certainly a breath of fresh air as far as software engineering talks go.
Good job Daniel. Nice work on this talk.
Very exciting project!
Tauri is great!!!
Nice
Brilliant stuff
