Cool challenge at the end included these “self check-in truth claims / healthy resolutions” (for those without time to follow the whole interview): 1. It is possible - and likely - that the thing that hurt me most when I was young is still affecting me now. 2. I am one of many, so it will not surprise people that I have pain. 3. Somebody does care (and I’ll keep talking until I find them); someone will care about my story. 4. The person who cares wants to hear [my story]. Somebody wants to listen. 5. Relationships broke me, but relationships can heal me. [Carl’s 6th:] You are worthy of love and you are worthy of a life that’s fulfilling and peaceful. [Collaborative 7th:] You’re loved right now.
Dr A, this was a different type of a conversation in comparison to your many. Here you were more vulnerable, shy, not the Dr A I know that says "Come ta therapy, we are here, we are trained and we will help you", the Dr A that captures the audience, that takes control & leads the show. It's good to see all sides of you. I miss that Dr A though, that one. ❤❤❤❤❤
22:00 “You can’t hate yourself [into being] better…” I’m genuinely interested in how this ethos is in - at least indirect - dialogue with the rise to prominence of guys like David Goggins and that sort of thing... I actually think part of the draw to an artist like Kendrick Lamar comes down to the ability to reconcile these kinds of extremes, i.e. radical self-acceptance AND radical commitment to improve oneself.
Loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeee YOU gurl🤗🖤🤗🖤🤗🖤🤗woooo loveeeee YA🖤 God bless youuu and continue to keep His mighty hand on you and everything you do. All for His glory🕊🙏🏾
