SEA TURTLES: Threatened by rising temperatures | Oceana

The sex of a sea turtle hatchling is determined by the temperature of the sand surrounding the nest. This means as temperatures rise it could lead to an imbalance in the ratio of males to females, which spells trouble for sea turtles.
