🎉❤ l started watching CBS with my granny in 1975. Y&R, ATWT,GL. In the 80's was Santa Barbara. In 1984,all ABC soaps until they were cancelled. The 90's, NBC . My favourites were AMC,OLTL, GH and GL. Out of the soaps, l have 2 left as of July 2024...GH and B&B. In January 2025, CBS will premiere the Gates. Our soap families are the ones whom we choose, they will always be in our hearts. Always watching daytime dramas in coastal Mississippi ❤🎉

One day, maybe Tomorrow or Tomorrow after that something about Marisa Tomei’s courtroom scene in the film “My Cousin Vinny” which is more a movie about Soap Opera than anyone this side of the screen unfamiliar with Tomei’s work on As the World Turns
Edge of Night ended on 12/28/1984, Search ended on 12/26/1986, Another World on 3/30/1987 changed its theme music. The opening sequence changed later in 1987. Bold and Beautiful bowed on 3/23/1987
"Another World" changed its theme music long before that. It used to be so nice, then they changed it and came out with new theme music with lyrics. Just awful!
This creator seems to really have liked “ One Life to Live “ & “ Search For Tomorrow “ as it appears multiple times times in this video of openings to soaps. GH & Edge of Night were shows I watched although Edge was cancelled and left TV on December 27,1984. So being here is well OK as I liked the Theme music used from late1980-1984 prior to that it was boring and bland opening . After Edge left I got into The Y&R in the later 1980s.
Moron. B&B was NOT cheap back then. It was the most expensive soap on the air in the 80’s with the elaborately staged fashion shows, filming on the Queen Mary, all the fashion and models, etc.
:01 A cyclist " too good " to wear a helmet ! Incredible ! ( A tad too ! incredible ! ) His apathy is almost ! as bad as Dallas motor vehicle opererators !
Most of these are cheesy and awful, especially Search For Tomorrow. Not sure what they were thinking with that awful opening theme. The best one was The Bold and the Beautiful.

The soaps filmed in NYC had so much gravitas. A majority of the actors were theatre trained and each episode felt like a three-act play.

@@mcmlxii4419 The theme heard here debuted in Sep 1981, and the Gary Morris and Crystal Gayle sung theme was used from 3/23/1987 through around 1996.

I was "ABC ONLY" with the soaps . They were so good in the 1980s ! The ones on CBS and NBC seemed so DREARY and slow and cheap.
OMG-yes! I did watch Another World on NBC, because the head writer during the 1970’s was fantastic.
