I love Camtasia. I purchased it because I wanted to make interactive instruction video's. Now that I have it and experienced using it, I use it for most of my video/animation projects. The UI is so easy to use. It's amazing how fast you can do complex animations with such a simple interface. I would like to see more video effects added in the future. Just some cool and funky filters to spice things up a little. Also more styles of arrows and other shapes to choose from. I didn't know about the shift + drag/select function. This little trick will speed up my workflow even more!

Hi Camtasia people. I have a question, how do I have an image on the timeline move around? For example, I am trying to cover a face up with an image and the person is constantly moving. How would I have the image cover up the face while the person moves? Also, I love Camtasia!

I need help. In this video, as I can see, right next to "animations" there's a zoom and pan bar and on my mac there is not. So, is actually the zoom and pan feature available on the camtasia 3 or what?
If you are trying to make the color/size and/or font change during an animation, apply a custom animation, and the then at the end of the animation indicator (arrow on the timeline) make the changes to your color/size/font. If you just want to make changes to annotations, use the properties panel on the right side of the screen, just above the timeline.
i think there's an issue with your software. if i started out making something in a low resolution, how could i increase the content resolution? i don't want to re-animate everything. if i was to try zoom/scale at the beginning of everything, all the animations undo it. can this be fixed???
You cannot create a waveform / audio spectrum video in Camtasia, however if you create a video in another program that is a compatible file format with Camtasia (MP4, for example) you can import it to use in your Camtasia project. Hope this helps! :)
Please consider those who need to read captions in your future videos. Your captions were right on top of the timeline, blocking out some of the most important demonstrations. Thank you!
In RUclips you can actually click and drag the captions into another area of the video to make the timeline more visible. This is a constant struggle we face as our actions often take place in the lower part of the screen. When we've decreased space in the past to allow for captions people said it became too small. So thankfully, RUclips captions can be moved to a more convenient location!
I'm not sure that Camtasia is going to do what you want. You could find a static image/video and bring it into camtasia and layer it - but I think this will difficult at best. I think you might need to either find a template or use a different program.
this is the best and simplest editing software it took me about 1-3 years to learn this and im making some good videos i mean this software is amazing ngl like it should be better than Premiere pro because Premiere is much compliacted

for the life of me I couldn't get this to work until realized that those three dots with two arrows in the upper left hand corner of the properties sidebar have to be set to no color. so if yours are colored in you need to click that them and they should all grey out then you can do a start and stop position and grow or what ever you want. He should totally mention this critical point in doing animations.
I am new to Camtasia (have it since yesterday) and need help. If I have an object on track 1 and an object on track 2, and I want to move the object of track 1, but I automatically jump to track 2 and can only move the object there. It would be nice if you or anyone could help me.
I would build the animation, take those files, and use the group feature. Make sure that your animation ends where it started, so theirs no weird jumping points. Take that group, copy it and paste it, so you have multiple, across your timeline. Make sure again, that they end and start at the same place, and there is no space between your animated logo on the timeline to make it a seamless playback.

TechSmith - The dials on the animation portion that moves the items in x,y,z axii are very difficult to control since they are so tiny. Is there a simpler way other than randomly typing in numbers in the number boxes for that? Don't believe that custom behaviors could do anything with facial / motion tracking. Are there addons somewhere that can do this? I've looked but cannot find any. It seems like a very useful thing people would want that things like Adobe Premier Pro has. I don't want to have to learn that new software just for facial or motion tracking. The custom animations work to an extent, but I have to step through frames and keep messing with those tiny dials or punching in numbers until the frame is properly setup. It would be easier if I could select a few pixel clusters and attack that to points on the images I want to follow and move around with. Like three points or something.

The cursor isn't showing up because you're extracting the recording contents--Camtasia will capture the mouse in its own layer, which is “above” the AVI. So if you add the t-rec to the timeline, then produce to AVI, then it will be in the video. A zoom and pan is changing the size of the video & x, y coordinates. You will want to apply a custom animation. Drag the custom animation to the timeline (it adds to the current play head location). Anything before the animation is the starting point (and size). Anything after the animation is the end point (and size).
I like Camtasia Studio because it is the simplest advanced editing software I could find.

You cannot create a waveform / audio spectrum video in Camtasia, however if you create a video in another program that is a compatible file format with Camtasia (MP4, for example) you can import it to use in your Camtasia project. Hope this helps! :)

Camtasia doesn't have motion tracking features built in. You can add items manually using Animations and maybe even Behaviors.
