I'm loving all these videos about your trips Mandy/Sebby! I enjoy the credit card optimization side too, but travel experiences are the reason I do it in the first place, so thanks for sharing more of those types of videos!
We stayed at the Grand Hyatt Kauai for our honeymoon for 5 nights with points (12 nights total across the islands, all with points!). We really enjoyed it, though it was October 2021 so some of the amenities were reduced due to COVID, but it was still worth it! It's also in a great location to explore the southern part of Kauai, so it was a great mix of having stuff to do at the hotel/resort and also being able to leave the hotel easily to explore.
Thank you for sharing your Grand Hyatt Kauai visit. It brought back memories on my visit there thirty years ago. Glad to see Hyatt has kept this property very beautiful. 🤙😊
We’ve stayed at the Hyatt many times over the years. It’s definitely expensive but you already know that beforehand. It’s an amazing resort just really pricey.
🌴we just got back from Kauai. Stayed 3 nights at the Grand Hyatt and 3 nights at a Wyndham property in Princeville. Grand Hyatt was great, I liked the rooms, the Grand Club was solid for breakfast and snacks (the Club having only one coffee machine made fetching coffee more time intensive). Pools were also great. The lobby area with the window was a great design, but I thought the birds were tacky…In any case, fun video looks like you guys had a great time.
@@MandyRoams thank you! Big fan of Sebby and saw your video as a suggestion. Perfect timing with our trip coming up and definitely subscribed going forward 👍
🌴Do you recommend Kauai for people who are not very outdoorsy? (No helicopter rides or hikes!) I’ve been to Oahu twice and considering going again but Kauai looks nice. Also, those are the best welcome snacks I’ve seen. Hope you enjoyed them!
Thanks for this video, when was it filmed? Was the Club Lounge busy for your trip? I've seen some conflicting reports on FT. I'm going to Kauai in a couple of weeks but ended up skipping out on the GH for this trip. I've got some pre-pre deval Vacasa bookings at the 15k per $500 cap but will likely hit the GH on my next visit to the island.
When did you guys ? We were there two weeks ago and as discoverists not offered any room upgrade. I had to ask and ended up paying $150/night to upgrade from a parking lot view to a ocean view.
We were there almost 2 weeks ago as well. We have Globalist status though. We were offered an upgrade to the Ocean View Suite for $350/night (but passed on it).
I beg to differ @23:25, my espresso machine is able to maintain at a reasonable pressure even a few months after I had gotten the beans. I mean, I seal it in a ziplock bag before putting it in the freezer. Don’t freeze your coffee beans without protections
I'm here mainly so Sebby doesn't sleep on the couch lol. Jk. But awesome video!! Would you consider this resort family friendly? I have a 7 month old baby girl 🙏🏻.
OMG I stayed at the Hyatt Maui on a United package vacation forty years ago and the price for a week long stay was about $900 per person, double occupancy! This didn't include airfare (I don't think) but it did include a car! I remember the hotel grounds being beautiful and a can of Coke was six or eight dollars (I almost fell over). PS: Women get lei'd...men don't
Do you two prefer Marriot or Hyatt in general for your travels? My player 2 and I want to consolidate instead of spreading out our points but we are not sure which program to commit to.
Hyatt overall quality is better imo, easier to get more points (chase UR), and of course more points i mean relative point value not absolute number of points; however the downside is their footprint, some places I go there aren't any good hyatt point redemption options. Status wise it's relatively easier to get globalist compared to marriott's ambassador. Hyatt is my vote.
It's a mix of both. Hyatt is usually better value with the transfer and redemption rates. The experience is much better if you have Globalist status. For Marriott, JW Marriott is our sweet spot.

Yay! Thank you for watching! :)
Loved the video. Will be there next spring. Can't wait. Which boat tour company did you choose?

Nice! Which other islands did you visit?
@@MandyRoams The Big Island (Kona and Hilo sides) and Oahu/Waikiki. Lots of cheap rates in Waikiki that allowed us to extend our stay too.
Big Island is definitely on the list for future stays :)
Great video! Loved your Koh Samui videos as well... I love watching you and Sebby!
Thank you!! :)
Nice comprehensive video. Thanks for sharing fam 👌🏿

🌴 will be going to the Grand Hyatt Kauai in November. Can’t wait!
We were just there. It’s so nice!
Loved our stay there!

We ended up using points (35,000 Hyatt) - not cheap, but pretty good value since retail was $1,000+

You guys are cute. Sebby’s very lucky to have a P2 that complements what he does! Subscribed!
🌴love these property review videos!
Thanks for watching Maulitta :)
🌴 great video! We’ll be there in just a few weeks. If you had to pick one would you do rather do some sort of air tour or boat tour?
I personally liked the boat tour more since it’s longer and you get to see ocean wildlife up close.

I seen you guys and I didn’t know if that was you guys. I’m glad u enjoyed Kaua’i. I remember watching sebby’s youtube channel.

Yep! Tons of good resorts as well :) If anything, the Hyatt had a ton of families just relaxing.

We went ~ 2 weeks ago. The Club was super busy the first 2 days since it was a weekend, but emptied out during the weekdays.

Haha, thanks! Yes, very family friendly. Tons of families having reunions or annual trips.
Awesome! Thanks!

I heard that there are chickens everywhere is that true ?
Yes! So cute 🐤🐥
🌴 do you guys have a favorite island in Hawaii?
We've only been to two, so can't really judge yet haha. Hopefully can add color to this in the next year or two :)
Do you have to wear that bracelet all the time 😅
It's the room key, so up to you on how you want to keep track of it!
🍌🌭☕
