These gotcha videos do rely on the phenomenon that people tend to get rattled in situations where they are in front of a camera and microphone, in a setting where they do not normally expect to face test questions. I mean, I would like to think I would answer all of these pretty quickly, even if I was somewhat ambushed on a day out. But I think it'd possible I might actually mess up a couple of easy questions that I normally would nail easily if I was sitting at a desk and prepared. So, people are not at their best in these situations. But even so. . .
I'm 38 and I'm sitting there yelling the answers and getting mad at how dumb they are. I'm over here spitting out the answer as soon as he finishes the question and they are having to think. I'm 33 and know all those questions, because I was programmed to know. It's clear the education system doesn't want to program the youth about history, especially in cities.
What year was America founded? That's a complicated question. Was the country founded when other Declaration of Independence was written and sent (1776)? When the Constitution was signed (1789)? When the first Europeans settlers landed at Jamestown (1607)? When he asked when England was founded, that's obviously even harder but I'd probably answer 1066 when the Normans conquered the place and superseded the older Anglo-Saxon dynasty which never ruled a united England.
It's very frightening to know, that some day these people will be in charge! Evidently they don't teach anything in school any more. Maybe, these people never attended school! OMG! Unreal!
Now I think I understand why Joe Biden sounds so stupid when he is speaking on camera. I was being waited on in Walmart not too long ago when their computer froze up. All they had left to do was total up my purchases and add on the tax. I totaled it up in my head and told them what my purchases would come to. I told them I may be off a penny because I didn't know what the city tax in their city was. True enough, I was off by a single penny. The clerk couldn't total up my purchases using pencil and paper. And they were so far off in guessing a ballpark figure.
This video shows the sad state of the education program currently in use here in the U.S.A. I believe that the experiment of Government controlled schools has shown itself to be a failure of incredible magnitude and needs to be put back under the direct control of the local people using the schools. You two know more about the U.S. and its history than the average person on this video, and there is no acceptable excuse for that in my opinion. Keep up the fun, love your videos.
Beesley's should do a British version of these types of Questions. Maybe head to Piccadilly Circus or Leicester Park and ask some British Gen Zs the same type of questions. Like How many sixpence in a pound? Who fought in the War of the Roses? Name the 4 countries that make up the UK. What is the body of water between the UK and France called? What does 9X9X9 equal?
To be fair, a couple of those questions were tricky for anyone. I can't tell offhand the number of Presidents because it's not really all that important to me, and most people would guess either 1776 (when the Colonies declared independence from England) or 1787/1789 (when the Constitution was drafted/ratified) when the technical year of the United States' founding was 1777 when the Articles of Confederation and Union was ratified.
The actual date America was founded was July 2, 1776 when we declared independence from Britain. It was signed into law on July 4, 1776. That is the legal date of when we were founded as United Colonies. On Sept. 9, 1776, the term United Colonies was changed to United States of America but the date of legal founding is still July 4th, 1776 - Independence Day.
Yeah the number of presidents would have been tricky I just remember everyone always referring to Trump as “45” so that was the only reason I know it’s 46 🤷🏻♂️
Dime in $0.10, you are thinking a penny which is $0.01. meaning 10 would have been correct. 100 would be correct if the question was about a penny. The President question is confusing. If you are counting the presidents under the articles of confederation you will get a different answer.
The official title under the Articles of Confederation was The President of the United States IN CONGRESS ASSEMBLED. This position was little more than the presiding official for Congress; it was NOT the same position as we know the Office of the President of the United States today to be.
I am sure there were lots of gen z-ers who could answer the questions correctly, they just don't show them. There are 10 pennies in a dime, there are 10 dimes in a US dollar.
The question of: If you drove 50 miles per hour, how far would you have driven in an hour. It might have been easier to think I'm Kilometers. Some of these questions are tricky because we get stumped that the answer is within the question. You'd get a similar result or hesitation if you'd ask, What color is the blue sky.
The video cherry-picks respondents. You can go to any country and find people who will respond similarly. That doesn’t mean they are representative of a typical person in that country.
The fact that this many people had trouble answering is concerning. I don’t care if 100 people got it all right. The fact that there are young adults this poorly educated is bad for the country.
Well this certainly shows how well New York is doing in their public schools. I've seen these before and quite honestly it's shocking how bad our schools are in some parts of the USA. Most of these questions could be answered by Elementary School kids!! Quite honestly it's a disgrace

Either public schools suck at teaching now or younger people are more worried about celebrities or trying to be famous
This is embarrassing not because I don’t know the answers, but because I do…
This is what I mean when I say the Education system isn't about learning.. It's about indoctrinating, and regurgitating answers on a sheet of paper, with participation trophies to get you a passing grade..
It's terrible..
Glad I graduated in 2017. My town is lucky to be a little more old fashioned, but who knows how much longer that will last.

I'm 44 years old and have lived in Canada my entire life. Although I'm also an American citizen. It's painful to watch how little these people know. You two in Jersey know more than them. And all of this is common knowledge as far as I'm concerned. Especially for an American.
It is completely embarrassing. But to know they are sharp on the Kardashian facts reveals where their headspace is. Kids today seem to only care about tik tok, insta, and other social media and being an inflluencer.
We aren’t all like this! I’d say you mostly find these people in NYC and LA. I can answer all of it without thinking. It also seems to be more prevalent with those who spent their high school with smart phones

Ask an American anything to do with the rest of the world they have no idea
What year was America founded? That's a complicated question. Was the country founded when other Declaration of Independence was written and sent (1776)? When the Constitution was signed (1789)? When the first Europeans settlers landed at Jamestown (1607)? When he asked when England was founded, that's obviously even harder but I'd probably answer 1066 when the Normans conquered the place and superseded the older Anglo-Saxon dynasty which never ruled a united England.
Stars on the US flag question is a classic one. While there are only 50 states, there are 52 cards in a deck of cards.
Unless you are playing with jokers
Unless you're Obama or Biden
52 weeks in a year

They'll never be in charge.
Good Lord are we in Trouble!!!
Like
How many sixpence in a pound?
No - Independence Day - July 4, 1776 - ibit: see my answer.

Don't give them the benefit of the doubt.Thats why you guys deserve to be citizens more than a lot that are.
Lol. 60 miles an hour takes you 60 miles in one hour. 😂
Number of presidents 10 years ago would have been more difficult. Trump touted his 45 every chance he got so it made it easier to remember
No they are not kidding, they don't know.

I am sure there were lots of gen z-ers who could answer the questions correctly, they just don't show them. There are 10 pennies in a dime, there are 10 dimes in a US dollar.
Nope. There wasn't. Look up his video of some faith left in gen z. He only got 2 people with correct answers. Out of 36 he got to ask.
True but a lot of people are idiots themselves thinking all Americans are this stupid
The fact that this many people had trouble answering is concerning. I don’t care if 100 people got it all right. The fact that there are young adults this poorly educated is bad for the country.

The question was... When do they celebrate the 4th of July in England? It's crazy stupid how many American Gen Z don't realize that "The 4th of July" is 4th day of July. They think of "The 4th of July" as being a name of a holiday, like Christmas or Easter.
So that is the first joke. The second one, of course, is that the UK would not be celebrating U.S. independence, on any day in July or any other month.
