Here in Canada where I am at the moment we have around 3" of snow, I pulled over the blinds and sat by your burn pile, it sure feels nice and cosy, Thank you, you stay warm now.
Crazy suggestion - if your tracker has a heated cab, could you put the video camera inside while you are working and the tracker is running? Love your videos!
Reminds me of camping with the boys, sitting around the fire with the other fathers, the boys had all gone to their tents, and we just had some comradery with a pot of coffee. Good times. Great video Nathan thumbs up.
Nice day on the farm Nathan. That piece of music is very relaxing. Thanks for putting that on. Sitting here about to get a hot cup of joe and let a few minutes roll on by nice and warm with a ham sandwich.
Love hearing you explain the whys and wherefores of running a mill. I also make mistakes , the last time was when I thought I was wrong about something.
Watching the fire as the day turns to dark is almost surreal. Sparks lighting a trail through the darkened night sky with every pop and crackle. Hypnotizing to watch.
Out here in Oregon loggers will put plastic sheeting over part of their slash piles. Over a 60 x 80 pile a little 20 x 20 tarp keeps a section of the pile dry for easier starting. Just a thought from a friend in the rain.
long time watchers have heard you explained so often about what you add and getting in small gallon containers because of shipping costs. Great advice like on camera failures and batteries being an issue too often.
I was taught in Arch. School that UV light does not have to be direct light. It reflects off the skydome and can come in a North facing window or a window oriented in any direction. Laminated glass will prevent UV light, but regular glazing, including low E glazing will not stop UV rays. Best regards.
Your outdoor flames match the flames in my woodstove right now. Toasty! But no snow here on the Olympic Peninsula. Just a little frost and a beautiful full moon in the NE sky. Fire must be keeping the camera batteries warm!!!
Hey Nathan---really enjoy the content. I was watching a farm video from north eastern PA today where it was zero degrees and he had hand warmers rubber banded to his camera. said it seemed to be doing the trick and I imagine it would help out on battery life.
Miss our cabin. Sisters lost their long term lease of 14yrs and had to have a place to land. Family First! We always kept our half acre of Forrest well policed, with a camp fire every cool evening. Love the way your newcshed is working out!
My first experience sawmilling was an old Thomas band saw, we used diesel for a while as lube but it was atomized into the working environment was hell on my lungs and I would get painful stye on my eyes lids. Switched to the washer fluid and no issues just sprayed the mill down with WD at the end of the day. Be well Nathan
Another amazing video. The fire was super nice and comforting on this cold day with snow (on the ground, with sunshine) out my window in Maryland. God's Finest Blessings on you and yours, Nathan. You're a special person, my friend.
Boy brother, the cold kicks my but now that I'm older. Ypu are sho right on the weather man...Texas is the same. That fire would be a welcome sight. I'd use Mr Kato to push that bramble up on that fire. God bless....stay warm!
I agree with you on the weather. But this time at least where we live the got it pretty close. The moved the snow up to start at 9:30. It started at 10:15 and they said we was to get 3 to 5 inch. We ended up with 4” by Saturday morning at 7am. We live in Loudon Tn. Bout 1 1/2 hrs from you.
Nathan, for saw dust collection have you thought about cattle feeder throughs? you could haul them out with kato and dump and maybe cut down on the shovel work.
Hello. Yes I think everybody has a list of things they would like to do once they get caught up on the other things that they have to do.👍 thank you for another great video. I appreciate it and that’s a wonderful way to end the video with a big long fire.👍🙏
Amen, Nathan! Up here in Minnesota the weather people get things wrong, and get people all worked up for nothing too. I wish all of us could be that wrong that often in our jobs and still have our jobs. 😃
2 things you can do to stay warm wile running the sawmill in the winter, use a fuel type blow heater And or dig a 4' wide 4' deep burn pit and pump anti freeze in steel pipes to radiator under the sawmill floor. In the fire pit run a steel fresh air pipe you run a leaf blower into to stoke the fire from below this can be an electric or gas type or even cordless it doesn't have to push much air to make the fire burn hotter. Ashes can be uses on the far fields. Just an idea.
@@texasjetman NE Ohio. We get lake effect snow from cold air blowing down from Canada across the unfrozen Lake Erie. A town 30 minutes east of me got 61” of snow over a 3 day period in December.
Great video, so relaxing. Just what the doctor ordered!! Thanks for sharing with everyone Nathan. Hope you didn't get too much snow. Stay safe, Fred and family.
Hey Nathan, just a thought on the saw horses, you could run a 2x4 on each side and screw them into it to help stabilize the saw horses from moving as much. quick fix
As I listen to you and see your demeanor and the way you look at life and its challenges, I think about how well your personality would have lent itself to being a Police Officer. It may just be way too much personal information for one to share but I think it would be interesting to hear what made you go into law enforcement and way you decided it was no longer something you wanted to do. Watching you watch the fire i was feeling the happiness that silence and solitude can bring to a man's soul. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for the fire. We are vacationing in Palm Springs and there's not a fire pit to be seen in our campground. I do understand the fire dangers here in Southern Cal.
Give your washer fluid jug a little swirl while draining into reservoir and it'll create a tornado of liquid and drain fast without having to cut jug that might be able to be reused.
Nathan, felt the warmth and serenity of watching the fire all the way over here in Telford. Thank you for the videos kind sir. John here, photographing the beauty of the back-roads of Northeastern Tennessee, y'all.
yep, if the batteries are lithium they don't tolerate cold at all. My Ring doorbell camera is a prime example. A blazing fire on a cold snowy winter day! 👍
I'm a sitting by the fire kind of person but I don't think I would normally watch one on RUclips, but it's 18 degrees today so why not. Thanks for hanging out by the fire

I enjoyed watching the fire. My dad called it “dreaming the fire”. When you just sat quietly in the dark watching the fire. Very peaceful.
