Used to go to white Acres around Easter time in the late 80’s and meet up with the Bristol lads, A great crowd that would keep you at the bar all night and tell us Worcestershire lads, tails about drop nets and head light to catch proper big fish and bags of them. Looks like it’s come round again and anglers spilling the beans, or letting the cat out of the bag. 👍👏👏🍻🍻🍻

What a brilliant and original location. Fine video that has made me want a go.
One issue. When does a skimmer become a bream? I am old school. A skimmer cannot be bigger than approximately 1.5lb. A two and a half pounder is definitely a bream.
And for anyone who wants to tell me I'm wrong, you will unaware that I am very old. WE (my generation and older) wrote the rules. Old folk, not you young whippersnappers who can only fish a managed hole in the ground. Proper anglers. Men. Who catch bream. The older generation knows that a two and a half pounder is most definitely a bream.
Well, that should put the cat amongst the pigeons. Most young uns are not robust enough to admit they are wrong and all respect for history and tradition, (and respect for old gits like me,) has gone out of the window.
So there you go, ..... tell me I'm wrong. It won’t make you correct but you will do it anyway.

I was talking to an old fishing friend of mine down a stayth on the Norfolk broads about this only yesterday we would agree with you we put a bream being a fish of about 1.5lb + colouring up taking on it's adults bronze. Why folk from up north are still calling a fully coloured bream of 2/3 lb + a skimmer is beyond us UNLESS these people are regularly catching 6lb + bream like a on a good skimmer session so a 3lb fish would look like skimmers and i don't believe that now LOL. Happy new year

ive always been told skimmers are different species...there def are more thna 1 species of bream..The ones in those docks are huge though , like 8 pounds, but still very silver

@@TheTimbo07 there's two speeches of bream. The common bream Abramis brama top weight in the region of 20lb. AND the silver or white bream Blicca bjoerkna the silver bream record is of about 1.5lb. I could go on to find exact weights but so can you. The fish being caught in this vid are bream Abramis brama. Skimmer are no thing MORE than juvenile bream this is where the people who call bream skimmers are doing nothing more than bad education of young and new anglers

Great video. I was catching Bream and Tench in the docks 40 years ago and no one would believe me at the time . lol

I’ve fished it the last 4 years and never had a tench. Don’t think they like the salty water

GREAT vid Craig, natural water fishing, some anglers would really struggle to catch like that at this time of the year on £10 a day commercials.

Grate place to fish. Can only fish areas that are lower to water, as I am absolutely terrified of heights, just watching you fish makes me feel giddy 😅. What's it like by the old light house boat, have you ever fished around there?

The nearest parking would be the muddock bike shops car park and the spot is up river slightly form the car park. There’s a bridge about 2 minutes walk from the car park which has a dock on one side where he was fishing.
