Interested in the workflow in QuickSurface. I will be receiving the Shining3d Einstar 3D today after finally convincing myself to just do it. I know there's a huge difference between these two scanners both in capability and price but I'm looking for the best way to convert the scanned data into an editable CAD model. I work in IronCAD which is fantastic for engineering but doesn't work well with imported mesh data. I will need to be able to bring in usable data to reverse engineer parts. Since it's just a hobby, the sub $1k scanner will have to do. Anyway, nice video on the process and look forward to seeing more.
Thanks! I also have the einstar and it’s a very capable scanner. I was able to get a lot done with it and it’s the best scanner for that price point. I will definitely show the workflow with quicksurface. There is a lite version which is yearly subscription based that is way cheaper than the pro version. However it does lack features, I’m just not sure what it lacks.
Never checked what the resource usage was when scanning but my specs are a 3060 with 12gb of ram and 64gb with an I7-11700 3.6Ghz. This was also scanned on a HDD not SSD so even faster on an SSD
Yes I'm currently working on another video showing how I scanned a side skirt with the freescan combo and used quicksurface to recreate some tabs that will be used on a aftermarket side skirt
Yes you can use the autosurface tool and it will create a whole surface from your mesh which you can then thicken to create a solid cad file. This would be a quick way to generate a cad file however it will need to be cleaned up unless you have a very noise free scan mesh
FreeScan... price $16,000. I'm sure it's 100% worth it, but I didn't even finish watching the video after visiting the link. I'm just whining because I'm poor.
Video of you modeling it in fusion would be nice
Would love to see a quick surface workflow
Do more of this stuff man!

Damn wait to the end to see everything lol😂
its fast and smooth mate
whts your computer config

@ good to know 11gen can do the good job 🙂↕️thx mate
Jushustudios can you do the workflow in quicksurface? I am also interested in getting the freescan combo, and there is no other recent content online

Can you automatically render the solid cad from the scan mesh?

Man scan looks great but yeah it's 16k lol
what scanner did you use
