This is what I like about Mr. Mythos. Have I heard of the chronovisor, sure, have I heard anyone talk about the chronovisor for more than 10 minutes, no. And we get almost an hour and half of chronovisor lore.

He claimed he was involved in a secret Time Travel program ran by DARPA called Project Pegasus which involved different ways to travel through time.

The Vatican doesn't need a time machine, they have film and photo record of everything going back to the earliest known times of man. They've in the last couple years only started to put things on youtube that were recorded at fully quality 100-200 years ago. They have no need of any chronovisor.

For anyone who’s interested in Father Brune’s book, the original 2002 edition was apparently published under a new title (Le chronoviseur - Machine à explorer le passé - Enquête sur un secret du Vatican) in 2004. It’s still in print today. I haven’t seen either book in person myself and don’t know how much the later edition differs from the first, if at all.
Mr. Mythos kept me sane at my miserable desk job.
So glad I quit that place and still listening ❤

What was the nature of this desk job? Why did you hate it so much? Did you get snack breaks? How about lunch time? Which is the best time of the day time. How long of a lunch break did you get? I bet you had a telephone at your desk and you had to talk to irrational and scornful customers. Maybe not. Perhaps you were just bored, and would have given anything to talk to a live person, even if it was an irate client. I really do not know, I'm only speculating because I've so little data to go on. By filling in the blanks, you can perhaps elaborate on this dispassionate work place. It is very fresh in your memory, which over the next 40 years will subside. When describing the workings of the Chronovisor, Ernetti cites a belief system as one of its crucial components. That, to me, translates as magick.
Could you explain more on why you think it points towards magick? Im interested in your take.

Whatever his desired outcome -- validating his faith, confirming the veracity of his religion for all the world to see, etc. -- he enacted his will in accord with his very structured dogmatic belief system. That's the very definition of magick: instigating change in accord with the will.

I was listening to a podcast about a guy that translated the earliest writings found that are about Jesus, how Christianity got started and ancient medical transcripts, they don't seem connected but they are, everyone else was doing a tonne of drugs and tbey used peoples immune system to make antidotes. How did this device work without a “cameraman” on the other side of time? This is the main issue I have with this machine.
If that device worked by picking up residual waves produced by the real events, then restored it into a picture like a camera set, i would think it would probably be limited on location. You could only see the past of the place the chronovisor is at rn, since it can only pick up signals from where they were created. Otherwise it makes no sense.
As explained, it locks onto an individuals aura. So they have to pick a place and time, then tune it to the essence of someone there.

It's a fascinating story, but if someone could make one in the 1950s, it could be done today. The story about the Chronovisor has been out there for several decades. You would think that someone, somewhere would have been intrigued enough with the idea to try to build their own.

I find it hard to believe that at some point people wouldn't have tried to build them for profit. Or when the inventor dies, his family would make a post somewhere about a strange object they found when they were cleaning out his stuff.
