FIRST....I want to exspress my thankfulness for your 3 sons who are serving our country. ( I saw your sevice flag in the window ) The cameras look like a good solution to a lot of problems. If you could put one of them in your yard pointed at your house, it would make keeping an eye on your house durring a storm easier. Jerry, I am glad to see your recovering.
Great info. When I lived in rural Virginia I used the ring cameras. Now in The Village of Dabney I use Arlo. Like you said mainly for packages delivered or my landscapers.
Wireless cameras tend to have some "lag" time so, you might think the intruder is standing at the camera but he's just now popped around the corner. IF you set up a wired camera system , there isn't any lag time.
Thanks, forgot to tell you I was born in Muncie. Lived there till age l4, then parents brought me to Winter Haven. fl. We live in Ocala. We enjoy watching you. You make me feel good b/c we have that Hoosier thing in common. god bless Glad you are over that awful health scare.
This is a great idea. Please do remember to change your passwords for this from the default to something of your choosing. Otherwise everyone else who also bought this system will potentially be able to access your system. If a manual isn’t included you can probably find one online.
We have the Blink cameras that have batteries and i get alerts on my phone. I have ability to talk two way as well. We are in NH and see fox and the funny things turkeys do in my yard. I see pkgs being delivered too.
I installed nine wireless Blink cameras plus a doorbell camera. The cameras detect movement, start recording, and I get an alert to my cell phone. The recording length can be 10 to 60 seconds. The cameras are powered by lithium AA batteries and have lasted over 6 months now. Cameras can be adjusted for sensitivity and field of recording, are weatherproof, about 4-inches by 4-inches, and easy to mount with several mounting options. With the $10/mo. video clips can be saved for 3 to 60 days. The entire system is self-managed thru the Blink app on your cell phone. So far, I'm satisfied. Blink also offers indoor 120V-powered cameras, and I run three of those.
Hey Jerry and Linda. Happy Saturday. Enjoyed the live the other night. Great Jerry is on the mend. Cameras are so needed these days. Thanks for sharing. Have a great weekend 🤗
The the electricians also install the cameras for you? I like the idea no matter how safe the area. As you say you can see packages, critters and whatever.
I live in a very safe suburban area in central Indiana, but I bought Eufy cameras that allow me to see virtually everywhere around my home, they also have night vision for clear live video all day and night. They alert us to any movement that I determine needs to alert us. My system is battery or electric but as long as I don't monitor the street or sidewalks the battery will last 90 days. I like that I can quickly access live feed from my phone from anywhere in the world and look to see if it is snowing at home, my lawn needs cut and etc. It is really a nice way to have security without paying a lot and no need to add outlets, although being on permanent power is probably better as we age so we don't get hurt on a ladder. I forgot to mention, I can set them to alarm at night or when we are away but in consideration of my neighbors, I don't. I am sure your system have all the bells and whistles also, I just really love my Eufy cameras and wanted to tell about them.
We have a blended system. SimpliSafe for windows and entry, also fire. Ring cameras for front door and front and rear. I found the ring cameras better than the SimpliSafe cams. Can all be run from the phone.
Great video and great points about the advantages of having the security cameras. They definitely give you peace of mind, act as a deterrent, and help solve crimes when officers are doing an investigation. 👮♂️ Jerry, so glad you’re feeling better. You look great 😊 & Linda too ❤
Thank you for the great video. We brought our Arlo system with us, from our previous home in Colorado, but haven't installed it. Now that you said you saw a BEAR on camera, we'll definitely install. Holy cow. Never thought about bears here.😮
Happy Saturday Jerry and Linda! Very good idea! A wise purchase for sure! Keep getting healthier by the day Jerry! We all appreciate you both! Mark in Iowa.
Great idea! We have cameras all over, however, we didn’t go wireless. We wanted access at all times, even if the power goes out. We access the cameras not only on our laptop, but on our iPhones too.
Appreciated this video. We are moving to Shady Brook next month. You mentioned that you have a good landscaper. We are looking for one. May I ask who you have? Thanks
I think this is a wise decision. I don't live in The Villages but I have lots of family in Florida and in the suburbs of NY and NO area is crime free. We're so happy Jerry is feeling better. Be well.
Such good tips! To keep an eye on things when you aren’t home! Jerry, you look very perky, much stronger every day…still rest up since holidays are coming fast! Lots of Turkey, cookies, eggnog to enjoy - Oh boy! 😂
J&L I strongly Disagree using these home cameras in The Villages. The houses are too close causing an, Invasion of Privacy upon neighbors. As prospective buyers, the last two Courtyard Villas we stayed at their neighbors had these. They were aimed into backyard of their courtyard at high angle and captured our yard and top half of bedroom window! The Villages is noted as a safe community and seems the last place these are needed. A single camera for the area you mentioned as vulnerable seems reasonable but not 4 or more. Snowbirds I get you want to watch home. Just keep consideration of others in mind please.
I had a FEIT 1080p flood light + camera at my garage because we have no windows on that side. Someone tried to break into my car at night and couldn’t make out the individual even when the flood light came on. The device failed after just one year, it’s out of warranty. So I bought a Swann device it’s 4k much better picture during the day and more features but at night it’s about equal with the Swann. No subscription unless you want extras with the Swann, hopefully I have better luck with the Swann. Feit is $89, Swann is $115 at Menards. I recommend a 4k camera.
Great tips and advice, J&L, thank you! The only thing I don't care for is @5:14. "Made In China." I don't like giving them anymore business (and economic power over us) than they already possess.

Great info for people! We have the Geeni system & love it! Peace of mind & can keep an eye on pets when we step out.

Love the service flag in the window!

I have cameras on every side of my condo. Makes me feel more secure and it helps knowing when someone pulls up or delivers something.
Thank you sharing. Great idea!!
You're welcome! Glad you liked it.
When you are planning on being a snowbird, a system is a must for peace of mind.

We've heard good things about those!
Great idea Jerry. We have ring doorbell. Our front porch, driveway and back lanai is covered. Its great especially for Amazon packages.
That was great! I would love to have outside cameras . Such a good idea! Thanks for sharing❣️
Thank you Sally, look for your name at the end of tomorrow's show.
@ Dud not see my name, but I did see another Sally. I’m not mad, though😫❣️

Great idea.
2 cameras outside, 1 inside, peace of mind and security. 👍

I agree. Important to have

He does our planting and hardscapes, tree removal, etc and we have a grass cutter and his name is Alfonse. (352)470-2398
I love The Villages.
Hoosiers, sounds like a good idea.
I think this is a wise decision. I don't live in The Villages but I have lots of family in Florida and in the suburbs of NY and NO area is crime free. We're so happy Jerry is feeling better. Be well.

Always do.
Has jerry slimmed down? He looks 20 lbs lighter
😁😁😁 Unfortunately no.

I agree and don't buy anything from Temu.
