I’m gonna try this today, I was gonna go just put them in the ground and let it be and I decided to look on RUclips. I’m glad I found you. I’ll let you know how it goes.
I am doing this this year cause last year I planted and had maybe 55% germination. I don't want to spend time planting seed that will not germinate. This may be a game changer for me!
Good afternoon. Great information especially for people with short growing season! I will be letting people know this method. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thank you Cindy. It works for every corn seed we have tried but each variety has a different time to sprout of course but this method works the best out of all we tried. Thank you!
Did you say, "giving it legs."? Had to go back and check. Still uncertain. If you did, that is hilarious turn of a phrase. Rock on Guru! Great results y'all!
Awesome Michael thanks for sharing this method. I gave up on growing corn years ago because I totally sucked at it. I’ll definitely try this after our spring frosts are gone🍺🍺
Thank you Bradley, Corn has been a learning experience for us as well, but we are finally getting the hang of it. There is a variety for everyone so dont give up
With field maize I call this "malting", but as you are, I am doing it in advance of putting it in the ground. I've already drilled some of the seeds without malting them first, and I've also drilled some with malting. It's still technically too early, but I have a cultivar that's supposed to be hardy. I eagerly await the results of my travails.
I dont know if my corn seeds are treated or not. You said to put 2ml of hydrogen peroxide in a quart of water and washed them first before spraying them with water and putting them in a water misted jar. Is it right? I just want to make sure I do it right. Thank you so much.
I am going on my 4th day with waiting on my corn to pop. I must be doing something wrong. I have it on a seed heating pad at 100 degrees, under a dark towel to keep it in the dark. I opened and checked it the third time this morning and misted it again. These are triple sweet varieties. Not sure if that makes a difference. Also they are untreated. I also put a brand new lid on the jars this morning too. will too damp cause a problem? I had just dropped them in a jar of water to soak over night when I saw your video, so I took them out and started over.
So sorry for the late response this comment was hidden for some reason, 100 is to hot imo make sure you add a lil extra moisture for SUI types when germing, thank you and sorry again
That's was great info! And I'm not sure I would say hillbilly... My family comes from the mountains of E. Tennessee, and they know hillbilly🤣🤣🤣 I think this is genius - thanks for sharing 😊 ~Shawna
Everybody here calls me a "hillbilly" that's who I am referring to in the video :) that's why I said I don't have a problem with that term. I answer to Hillbilly. Thanks yall and we appreciate you watching
@@HomesteadFresh yep..... its that or Mad Mike, everyone except Bobbie...she never calls me either one but don't worry she has lots more names for me cant discuss here LOL ;)

yep, the peroxide is not needed unless you expect mold or mildew before removing them from the jar, thanks for watching
So. You just use the peroxide for sterlizing the jar? Or is that the spray? I can't tell if the spray is just the water.
The drop of peroxide just keeps mold and mildew away while seeds are soaking.
Ok. Perfext. So all the sprays are peroxide sprays? 2 mil to a quart? Thank you!
That is awesome info 🤘
Thank you! ✌🤘
Thanks for the info✌Cya next time

How do you plant after the grow Legs! Do you bury them in 10mm of soil?
yes you can plant them directly in the ground or you can plant them in trays and get them established as starts, for permaculture or covered gardens
👍
Thank you!!
Awesome brother 👊🏻
Thank you kindly Sir, We appreciate it :)
Nice, thank a lot
Thank you!!!!!
Two meals of peroxide? 2 teaspoons/tablespoons?
I think hes talking about mililiters
