@rodc2678 nailed it. As soon as they realised they could use it for more paid ad space, TV lost all its charm. Lucky to get a show with a theme tune these days
At the time, the US version of $ale had only been on the NBC daytime schedule since January 3. Jim Perry was doing a good job as host, but his original co-host wouldn't last too much longer.
I felt as engaged watching this as I did watching the show when Glenn Ridge hosted in the '90s.

@@lachlanpattersongameshows maybe the revamp of the set happened later in the year, not to be confused with the next set from 86-87.
@@SirChristopherGorton it was minor changes to the set with the new set debuting in 1986.
That station id, when the stations had personalities and personality.....gone forever.
