Hope you are all safe and happy
Today we are going to share with you details about our trip to Assam and Meghalaya. Our trip was of duration of 8 days and 7 nights. North east is absolutely magnificent and beautiful and is definitely something you should not miss

Let’s go
Day 1
After reaching Guwahati airport as per our scheduled flight, we proceeded to the capital of Meghalaya which is Shillong. En route we enjoyed the view of beautiful Umiam Lake.
Day 2
We started the day by exploring Mawlynnong village which has been awarded as the ‘Cleanest Village in Asia’. Post that, we visited the Balancing Rock and the Living Root Bridge - Centuries old bridges grown from tangled roots. Later we proceeded to see the crystal clear waters of Dawki river and enjoyed boating. Dawki lies at the border of India and Bangladesh and is famous for a suspension bridge constructed by the British. We also visited India - Bangladesh border at Tamabil
Day 3
Today we visited the Cathedral of Mary, Elephant Falls and the Ramakrishna Mission. Later we proceeded to Cherrapunjee - officially known as Sohra. It is the wettest place on earth. We also visited Mawsmai Caves, Seven Sisters Falls, and Nohkalikai fall - the tallest plunge waterfall in India
Day 4
Today we proceeded to Kaziranga - where wildlife roamed fearlessly and enjoyed a beautiful rendezvous with nature. En route we visited Maha Mrityunjaya Temple - renowned as the World's Tallest Shivling at about 126 feet high
Day 5
Today we experienced a thrilling jeep safari at Kaziranga National Park for wildlife viewing. We came face to face with one horned rhinos, elephants, deer’s and rare migratory birds. Later we visited Orchid Park - an orchid house with over 600 species from Northeast India. In the evening we enjoyed the spectacular Bihu dance - an indigenous folk dance of Assam
Day 6
We rented a bicycle and rode around in Kaziranga. Post which we proceeded to Guwahati
Day 7
Today we visited the Kamakhya Temple - one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in the country and enjoyed a ride on the longest river ropeway over the Brahmaputra. Got a panoramic view of Umananda Temple, Peacock Island, the Brahmaputra River and the surrounding hills. Later we sailed over the River Cruise in Brahmaputra
Day 8
It was time now to say goodbye to northeast
We were back to our homes and are living in nostalgia
