  • Starting from Killen Creek the North Ridge of Adams is a great alternative to the crowded South Spur. Carrying over avoids the poor quality rock on the descent.

Love getting away from crowds. Nice video. Questions, @2:00 how well did your BD Mega Light hold up in the wind? Did you end up burying the edges with snow to keep the wind down? Did you use deadman snow stakes? Looks like you switched out the factory pole for something else?

Funny enough we found a PVC pipe at the summit that worked perfectly as the center pole of the tent. Otherwise we typically rig something with hiking poles to save weight. With good tensioning of the corners it holds up great in wind, we anchored the corners with ice axes and pickets and buried them. In really windy conditions digging down a foot or two into the snow is the move. It’s a great ultralight setup to have!
