We have rarely seen modern music sung in Aboriginal traditional language. This is so important. Aboriginal People typically speak language at home or among friends. But for non-indigenous people to be invited to hear traditional language? This is incredible and precious and awe inspiring and such a privilege. For me, I don't care if Mitch creates pieces where the dancers dance traditionally or in a modern way. Both are incredible. What matters is that I am hearing the language of his People - language that we feared was lost. What matters is that we are hearing an ancient tongue spoken over 40,000 years ago that has survived despite the fact that in this country's early years the Australian govt systematically tried to wipe the Aboriginal People and their Culture off the face of the earth. Hearing Aboriginal Language is testimony. Testimony that not all Culture was lost. It may have been kept hidden but it was not lost. It has survived. It has survived despite everything. And what is most important of all is that some Aboriginal People are ready to share some of their Culture with the broader community. Perhaps they feel that we can at long last be trusted with some of their Culture. Perhaps at long last we have proven our worth. This is important beyond words. Thank you to Mitch and his People for sharing their language with us. I hope we are worthy of your trust. I for one am spellbound.
I hope this guy becomes a huge worldwide success. His voice is just awesome and he seems so humble and lovely. Nice looking guy too. Well done! This song would totally smash it at Eurovision!!!!!!!
Mitch is amazing! ❤ His voice is awesome and he is fast becoming an Aussie favourite and the most important indigenous artist since Yothu Yindi! . John Farnham is a fan…see the Firefight Australia concert with Mitch and John’s corroboration of “You’re The Voice”. Mitch needs to be the next Aussie entry to Eurovision so he can show the world his Indigenous heritage, the power of Australia and showcase his amazing voice! If they don’t like it, too damned bad, we do. ❤
As a British person just love Mitchs voice especially in his native language sounds so great and great he sings in it not forgetting his roots and his people. You are the voice Mitch you truly are of Australia.
Can someone please tell me how this man didn't win the grand finale he is a pure talent and deserved to win a shit load more than anyone else on that show
Also keep in mind that some of the biggest acts of theses type of shows are never the ones that win (Susan Boyle, One direction etc) but it looks like he's going to have an amazing career after the attention brought from fire fight !

Amazing performance from Mitch Tambo . His adored culture is taken to the highest level and he really stands out to make both the aboriginals and non- aboriginals as we embrace the whole culture. BEAUTIFUL🏆🏆
Peace & love from your Pacific island neighbors!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️ I felt it deep down inside of me as we are tribal people!!! It was as if i understood u through & through all the way till the end....
What a pure talent! Someone who can radiates so much energy and good vibes on the stage, it’s just unique! New artist on the rise! He’s been on the road for so long I hope all the efforts start to payoff!
Wooooow i wish you all the best for the future and your voice to reach out to the whole world how amazing and unique your voice just amazing and ill never get tired of watching this 😘😘❤️❤️
I love this song, and I feel much more connected to Mitch's other songs on his album Guurrama-Li especially these songs : Modern Day Corroboree, Walanbaa and Dhinawan.
According to a statement, ‘Love’ is intended to “deliver a powerful message of hope.” Written prior to the current COVID-19 pandemic, Tambo explained that the song’s universal themes have taken on new meaning. “Within this current climate, we find ourselves in isolation craving for many of the things we love,” Tambo said. “‘Love’ is a reminder to reach deep down within, heal and set our spirits free with love, healing and hope for a better tomorrow.” “If we can use this time to work on loving ourselves better and loving others better when this is all over, we will be ready to move forward as a collective like never before.”
Everyone did a great job and Kristy definitely deserved that win for her complex and innovative concept! Mitch definitely impacted me, and I am deeply humbled and filled with hope by his passion to his culture and to performance. Sadly, I think the judges were aware of two things which made them not select him the top four - 1) he was a shoe-in to win since his music has impacted and inspired so many people and 2) conservatives have cried "political correctness" over him winning two Golden Buzzers. Personally, I think they didn't make him eligible to be voted winner because they knew people would complain about pandering to minorities and such. TV shows are never 100% authentic, so we may never know if this shift was influenced by showrunners/producers or other powerful behind-the-scenes figures. Either way, I personally really enjoyed this just as much as his other performances (it's such a bop!), his performances have demonstrated a variety of ways to blend traditional and modern music together. Ultimately, it's better that he didn't win. Firstly, I think the judges deliberately didn't choose him to spare him from the undue backlash of conservatives. Secondly, AGT contracts are notoriously screwy and winners have often been undone by them since they're binding so he's dodged a bullet there. Thirdly and most importantly, he achieved his goal - to spread awareness and appreciation of Indigenous cultures. Now, he has a larger, loyal fan base (who are now hurt that he didn't get in top four) which will ultimately support him in his musical career, as well as support the cultures he promotes. Also, let's not forget that two Golden Buzzers has never happened before, meaning that this along with his unique and soul-stirring concept has made his run on AGT history-making. He may not have won the title, but he won in every other way.
I think you hit the nail on the head, there. It is better for his career that he did not win. Several years ago the top Australian Indigenous music publisher sold it's stable to SONY, and I heard many complaints that the musos could no longer sell their own CD's at their gigs, were not gaining radio play, not relieving APRA for the play they were getting, and that SONY shelved their careers. This pretty much killed the future of so many artist, such as Tom E. Lewis. It is much better for Indie artists to retain their Indie status than to sign with any major label. Please support Indie Artists! Australia has so much talent! I personally have an eclectic collection of CD's numbering over 1000, every single one is an Aussie or Kiwi artist or band, and every single one is very good. Musos all speak the same language, what ever their individual dialect. We are a country of immigrants, each with their own musical culture. When 2 or more of those musical cultures come together to collaborate, the results can be magical. One of the best examples of this is the collaboration between Yothu Yindi and Neil Finn, "Dots On The Shells". Aboriginal and Irish, the same blending that created so many families in this great country. Cheers from the arse end of Oz. =o)
Send him to Eurovision! Would represent Australia with his talent and please in his language
