The idea we could have lost her. If love was a person, it would be Amy Grant. Bless the doctors who saved love for us all. My heart would have broken and stayed broken for years.
My mother found out she had this congenital heart defect, PAPVR, when she was 75 years old! She went ahead and had the surgery and has done great since.... She is a pretty healthy 81 year old, by the grace of God! Thank you for sharing your story, Amy.
You mean by the talent of her physician, right??
Amy I saw you were having heart surgery and I prayed but didn't think much beyond that until Sept 10 when I was told unexpectedly out of the blue I would be having open heart surgery in 3 days. I am so grateful God gave us both 2nd chances at the second half of our lives. God Bless You!! (and Me.)
I’m 32 and need an open heart surgery for a heart defect that I was born with and no one including myself was aware of it because I was a healthy child and a healthy person but now I’m so depressed because of that. Prying for all. Pray for me
Gud luck
Praying 🙏
How are you doing?
Hi❤
I had heart surgery this year 2022 and is still recovering but after Amy Grant's story I have hope.
Having open heart surgery was the scariest time of my life - and I’m a cancer survivor! It’s been almost 18 months since my life saving surgery and I’m still not quite back to normal. My legs are so weak that if I’m on the floor, I can’t get up I unassisted. I still tire somewhat easily. It’s been a long road.
Hang in there. You are not alone. I had breast cancer surgeries in 2016 and just in September had a CABG surgery. I've turned to a plant based diet and have more energy and through cardiac rehab, am gaining strength and stamina back. On top of this, I'm going through a career change since there is no work available in my field. Life is definitely a long road. If you are able to hire a personal trainer who specializes in a rehabilitative approach, even for just three times or so, it could be worth your investment. Peace and best of luck to you.
You know I have lupus and I've been thinking about going to a cardiologist and now I am thank you very much God bless your heart so glad you're feeling better and thank you for sharing your story
Amy . Keeping you and your family in prayer. You have been a blessing to me all my life ❤️😽
I had PAPVR and last August my surgeon performed the Warden Procedure on my heart and now 1 year and a month I am feeling great. I am a 52 year old man. I have a identical twin brother who had the same procedure 8 months ago and is recovering well.
Amy I’m so glad you are well. You gave me so much when I was younger with your music.
Me too, 👏❤️
What a rich soul, beautiful.
A friend shared her story with me, right as I’m preparing to go through 4-bypass surgery. God used her testimony and I thank him for doing that.
How did you do? I'm facing the same surgery next Monday. Pretty scared.
Im 49 yrs I did heart surgery on 12October 2022 @ Charlotte Maxeke hospital and no complaints everything goes well even now Im dn't fill any problem, Thanks all Cardiology staff at theatre and ICU
I am 13 days out of modified Bentall procedure with konect bovine tissue valve. Was in great shape when I went in with minimal damage and classified as Stage C: A Symptomatic. I am 60 years old and made the decision to surgery one year after the diagnosis of severe aorta valve stenosis. Took me that long to get my nerve up. I was working, I felt great, what the heck? Third opinion I said let's do it because I didn't want the recovery to be ridiculously long and/or my heart to be irreversibly damaged by my own hand because of my cowardness. The first week out of general anesthesia is NO JOKE and it does hurt. I've been home for three day and begin warfarin tomorrow evening for three months. Feeling very good.
Great host. I wish great success there. I love Amy. Be good, girl..
Awesome woman is a blessing from god
1990...I entered three days and three nights in Seminary, graduated me,in April ,6 and then I graduated, in Aurollo' University, April 7..... So my fundamental... ♥️🎯
That is what I had. I was short of breath . But, all came out fine. Still healing.
God bless you❤
I just had 3x bypass at 59, 4 weeks ago, feeling pretty good, but it was a tough week after surgery.
I just had an OH quad bypass after a heart attack 9 days ago. It’s been rough, but I’m feeling a little better each day.
The main thing I want to do is shout out a HUGE thank you to all the Docs ( and all ancillary healthcare peeps) out there who were bestowed the acumen, had the drive, dedicated a huge portion of their life, committed to the LONG process , LONG hours, give up having a ‘normal’ 9-5 life, and are willing to save somebody’s life at any time. They truly are incredible people.
You can have your overpaid ingrates that are sports stars and other celebrities.….my heroes are all doctors. They are the TRUE Rock Stars!
I hope your doing well. Recovery sucked and was the worst thing I’ve ever been through in my life.
Really glad she is okay.
looking great Amy!!! 👍
I am 59 lived healthy but got a bad heart valve--no idea why-getting open heart surgery soon-good to hear her story
How are you doing?

Beautiful Soul❤ Amy Grant
Happy that you're doing well🙏🏾. I had open heart surgery as well. Your scar looks like mine.

@@dollywood4326 Amen to that
Amazing how beautiful people are without makeup, another Privilege we Doctors get to See often.
This is exactly how I feel, I have a triple bypass in 7 days.
Still looking great, Amy! 🙂
God bless you guys! ☝️ 🙏
Love to Amy Grant AND her husband Vince Gill and his heart doctor. Sing your praises to the Lord....
what procedure was done to discover this defect?
Abba Abba...we need you now
Where she is now,?
Forgive me for this: "Waking in a panic, forgetting to breathe, migrating to the couch in irrational fury and shame, tasting your name in a whisper, flexing our compromises out of my shoulders and fingers..." For me, it was mitral-valve prolapse, resulting hospital lobbying and punishment. Intubation and open-heart surgery isn't very good for a singer. I'm glad you made it through.
I had surgery for PAPVR at 57 on Friday 13th August 2021. I know, open heart surgery on Friday 13th what was I thinking?! I watched this video a week or so before I went in and it helped, The thing the doctors are curious about is whether I will feel better post op. I'm a cyclist and it's not unusual for me to ride 100 miles in one day. I have always felt the same without symptoms until I noticed some very high heart rate readings through my chest strap heart rate monitor. The aim now is to get back to full fitness in the following 12 months, building up slowly. So will my rides become less tiring? Only time will tell
Hi. Any follow up on your recovery and how you feel. Thanks
@@jasonmiller7360 Sure, so after 6 weeks I developed a tachycardia and had a resting HR of 130 bpm. Went on beta blockers to control it but fortunately it returned to normal by itself after a month. Started riding again 3 months after surgery and built it up slowly to a point where I’m now doing regular 50-60 mile rides with plenty of hills. The aim is to do a 100 mile ride next month and a harder 125 miles within a year of having the surgery. Apart from the tachycardia and prolonged chest pain the recovery has been really good

Thanks for the response.
I’m scheduled for surgery for a heart defect that was recently discovered I’m 57 and have always been active.
I have an Aberrant right coronary artery.
Appreciate your story and it gives me confidence.
Were you able to come off beta blockers?? Any other medication that you need to take??
So, I guess your back to normal, correct?
Thanks again
@@jasonmiller7360 Best of luck for the surgery, recovery takes time and it drags but it does get better, just bear this in mind. I’m on the lowest dose beta blocker probably as a precaution to the tachycardia I experienced. Also on blood thinners to protect against a stroke. Most heart surgery patients take something like this for the same reason. I’m 8 months out and I’d say over 95% back to normal. Just a tight chest but I like to sleep on my front so I’m sure it’s down to that
I was born just after her husband who has his 64th coming up next week. It's not fair that my skill on the guitar has kept me from a grammy had I had a better voice and musical talent. The two will never know how much their music has meant to so many like me.
I had open heart surgery when I was three ❤️
Why at 3? What was the reason ?
So did I not robot don’t get them confused pls ppl we r children of god thank you lol ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
Open heart is different than that ❤❤
Now I'm still alive, ❤️🎯
Amy ad a reset..
Lets see What the Lord has in store for her.
God is watching over her.
Go for the gold Amy.

Open heart surgery is to me like I died but I got a 2nd chance. 7 bloakges.
Good for you! Remember to eat a healthy diet and take essential fatty acids - Vit. K2 keeps calcium from building up in arteries.. nutritional deficiency testing is great - stay away from food allergies..they can cause inflammation! Wishing you prosperity & the best in life!
Glad she’s doing well but I would never do unnecessary testing. Most testing does not lead to better health.
