- Some tracks from the first two albums. At the Islington Assembly Hall, London. 2018. With the 1970's line ups. A bit shaky in places, but I'm getting old and doddery. ;-) Just pretend it's 1977/78 and you're watching The Old Grey Whistle Test.
Chris P rocks! Punk rockers never die, we just get older!
And the amps are turned down lower.
Legends. Can't believe Knox is 73 and still has that energy on stage.
Amazing Amazing band! I have loved them since 1977, when I was 11! I bought some art work from Knox a few years back, and hoped to visit his charity shop 'Rock 'n' Roll Rescue in Camden in 2020 , but COVID put paid to that! I am hoping to travel from Manchester to see them play one of their farewell gigs next weekend ! (MASSIVE FINGERS CROSSED!!!!!) dx
I didn't know they were doing farewell gigs. That's a shame. 🤔
Amazing to see Knoxie on stage again!!
vibrators is my favorite.perfect
Hugely overlooked band in the general scheme of things . V2 was their masterpiece, their Hope & Glory on vinyl.
Cool to see they are all alive and kicking. These are the original members of the first two records (Pure Mania and V2). On Bass Pat Collier (the guy with the curly hair), Eddie on drums as usual, Knox on guitar and vocals and of course John Ellis on guitar and vocals. Later in the video Pat Collier is replaced by Gary Tibbs on the bass for the V2 songs. In the final you see the current members joining the scene. I saw the original line up as a reunion tour in Berlin in the 80s and later on several other occasions in Berlin and London, even hanging out with the guys. All the best to all the vibrators members. Thanks for posting this.
Yeh. I saw them in 83 doing their old stuff, at the Venue in London. All a bit of blur now.
@John Taylor-Cox That´s why RUclips is just terrific. You catch up with things you missed in the past. Fortunately I have seen so many great bands at the right time. But great to see that the Vibrators are still friends and do these anniversary gigs with all the former members etc. Unfortunately nowadays there is only Eddie with the band.
@John Taylor-Cox No, of course. I am just happy on the retrospective that I really was very active (and still am) to see all these great bands. And everything that I missed can be found on youtube, which is a great comfort. For me for example all the Grey old whistle test footage etc.
17th May 1978, The Clash at Locarno Ballroom in Portsmouth... I was also 16... my experience was identical to yours!
The Vibrators. Best band in the land!!!
Tks for this video.. I´ll post on the Vibrators fan page
Thanks. Let's hope they don't get pissed off.
fuck Man this is legendary in so many levels. thanks for share
Takes me back!
It isn`t the complete show, isn`t it? Anyway good to see these guys on stage more than 40 after I heard "We vibrate" on the radio. 1976 that was to be precise!
No. The rest of the show was the present line up so didn't bother with that. You can see them these days no problem. I only wanted to see the old line up, so just recorded that.
It’s good, but have you lads thought about . . . “Yes Yes Yes”????????
No no no.
Is this the line up that's touring now?
No. I don't think so. This was a one off with the old line up.
@@PunkLiveInLondon oh really? Could you tell me who are the remaining originals members paying nowadays? I'm going to seen them in a couple of weeks but I'm familiar with the early albums only.
I think the only original member now is the drummer. The guitarist is the bloke from the Members. The bassist I don't know.
@@PunkLiveInLondon Eddie on Drums, Pete Honkamaki on Bass, and i think they have that guy from The Members (Nigel Bennett?) on Guitar, he's played with them a lot since the 90's. That's been the line up mostly since Knox left regular touring as far as i know. As for vocals, they tend to mix it up, and take turns.
