Apple was finished the second they lost Steve Jobs. They haven't done anything at all since he passed and they never will again.
Since he left their level of innovation has been nothing but "let's add another camera to the iPhone" because the 17 they already added is just not enough...

Apple has been working hard on making a fancier casing to charge more for new phones, which is almost the same as the previous versions except the casings.

I just googled how much the Iphone 16 costs and the first thing that showed up was how much they cost per month, which is a clear indication that they cost too much for the average consumer. The base Iphone 16 is $800.00 and the pro model is $1,200. Nobody needs a phone this expensive. It's absurd. I have an LG Phoenix 5 smart phone that I bought three years ago for $60 that is still going strong. On a side note, In the past two quarters of 2024, Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway has sold roughly 510 million Apple ( iPhone-maker's) shares. There is a harbinger of things to come if ever there was one.

It's not that people are out of money, it's that the dollar is being debased to zero. So what the consumer does have, will not go as long as it once did, and the dollar is becoming worthless.

People are both sick of getting new phones every year or two, and can’t afford them. I have the 14 Pro Plus Max, or whatever it’s called. It was way too expensive for a phone I didn’t even really need! I’m done with upgrading every year or two. I’m keeping my 14 for as long as it still works, and as long as it’s still being updated. I feel that way, and I’m sure I’m not the only one. I still love my Apple products, I just don’t need new ones.
I still use iphone 8plus from March 2018, and it's not like I can't afford to get a newer one.. Its just a phone, and still works fine even tho the back is pretty crushed 😅

Apple's phones are yesterday's technology. Space X and Tesla are banning them, and so is the Chinese government.
There has also been a trend in Asia where people are unwilling to purchase a new phone even an upgrade is free. This is due to the effort in moving id/passwords to a new device. Further, some authentication programs don't allow for seamless moving of credentials between Android and iOS. Android vendors have been battling this trend for a few years now and there is evidence that it has come to iOS as well. There is also a re-evaluation by various age groups of the functionality necessary for most people as seen by app purchases flat or declining. So with the increase in cost for an iPhone, uncertainty of the economy and the friction of moving to a new phone it isn't surprising the new iPhone is struggling. Gosh, it's the same cost of a mid-range gaming laptop now.

3) Teen depression would go up
4) Accidents from texting would go up
5) Audiologists would get rich from earbud damage and Orthopedists would get rich from neck bent damage from staring at cancer phone.
6) The life expectancy in the USA would go down.

There have been 16 iPhones released in 17 years, ffs, give it a rest. Most adopters use 1/3 of the phones actual capability as a social media scrolling machine and camera. FOMO drives this tech space ad nauseam. A new version every 4-5 years should be the model, this is just exacerbating the E-waste problem really.

The iPhone 16 doesn’t look all that advanced. I would not be getting one but my phone is 5 years old now. I won’t buy another iPhone for 5 years.

Apple's iPhone problem is simple. There is far more power in their hand held devices than the average person will ever need. I'd argue the iPhone 12 was overkill for most people. Apple needs to move on to something prescient. How about eliminating the need for the iMac by making an iPhone that can be docked with two monitors, massive external storage, and a gigabit network port. The device would be easily removed from the dock when you need to bring a phone with you while out and about. I'll be sticking with my iPhone 12 until then.

Apple’s innovative has been stagnant to say the least in the last 7 years. They have yet to impressed me on the update feature with VERY FEW differences from each upgraded phone. Phone isn’t worth almost $2k for what the phone provides

The iPhone Pro Max base model costs about the same as the Macbook Pro 14 inch (ouch!). Besides most people purchase every two years and the 16 is the one most will skip, until the 17.
@@KgzStylez That's partially true. Most of the people who've ordered are early adopters, as the phone hasn't even hit the stores yet. Early adopters are gonna wait until future rumors (native cell SIP, better screen, more memory, etc) are in the phone.

Your wrong. Apples cost is NOT the biggest factor. The fact that Apple has not come up with any considerable NEW TECH in the iPhone or any apple product . There is NO reason to update anything. Updating your phone because a new color came out? That’s not high tech. That’s apple milking the consumer . My iPhone 11 is almost identical to the 16. I mean usability. Daily use is the SAME.
