    Salem is such a beautiful community. I love how people can feel quite comfortable no matter your spiritual practice, gender identity or sexual preference. Living in Salem was a really good time for me as far as getting comfortable being myseld.

    I live an hour away from Salem and have spent my life "growing up" with it's influence! As kids we made school field trips into the historical sections, touring places like The House of the Seven Gables or the Witch House. When in my 20's I toured some of the more touristy spots about the witch trials and walked around Pickering Wharf, which was quite different back then. More tourists, lots of artisan shops and antique stores. Now it is definitely more witchy! Later I discovered Essex street and started visiting several times a year. After a while I made a lot of friends with the store owners and workers and there is a wonderful open community, always someone to chat with, share and feel comfortable talking about our paths. Salem is well known for three things: The Maritimes (being once the biggest port on the east coast), The Witch Trials, and historical figures like Nathaniel Hawthorne. The Witchy Community is only one aspect of it, but it is a strong and vibrant one! Glad you enjoyed the shops, though, especially the Marble Faun (with all the Victorian things, jewelry, etc.) Hope you get back there soon to enjoy!

    What a fun day trip! I was going to ask if you ever go to Salem. My favourite witchy vacation destination is Glastonbury, in the UK. It's the place of the Lady of Avalon in the Arthurian legends, and the vibe there is so sacred, mystical and goddessy. I was blessed to go with my friend Alexandra one summer, and we climbed the Tor, which is a small hill said to be the earth's heart chakra. On top, there's an old ruin of a bell tower, and wheel that points out all the ley lines, which intersect there. (It's situated in the cross point between places like temples in India, the pyramids of Egypt, Stonehenge, etc.) Glastonbury also has the famous Chalice Well, said to have healing properties. The water that comes out is reddish in colour because of natural iron ore deposits, and the local pre-christian legends link it to the moon cycle of the goddess Mother Earth. There's an underground cave with the well's opening, and it's one of the most spiritual places I've ever been. The huge pool of water is crystal clear and super dark- perfect for scrying- and many little sub-caverns have been painted with murals of different goddesses from various world religions, where the local pagan community burn candles and incense to their ishta-devis. (I spent a while with Kali there, and felt her presence as strongly as in her temples in India.) I really hope to go back there again some year, and recommend it to everyone! And as a correlated book recommendation: The Mists of Avalon, by Marion Zimmer Bradley! She tells the story of all the witchy women in the Arthurian lore from a very mystical but realistic perspective. I've read it twice, and won't let myself read it again until my 40th birthday, so it'll be fresh again.

      I have heard if there and it has been part of my "witchy travel list" lol. But you described it in such a way that makes me want to pack up and go now. (Unfortunately not possible with today's situations) thank you so much for sharing and I hope you get to go there again someday. 💜💜💜

      @@ElenaEnchanted It's so worth the trip! Also, the townsite has tons of mystical shops, a lot like the ones in this video. :) I bought a pendulum there (even though it was wickedly overpriced, lol,) and it's one of my favourite travel souvenirs ever. :)

    What a great shopping trip !!! I’d love to go to a place like that, but not Salem. The energy there is so sad, and you’re absolutely right, the spirit there seems forced and not free flow from a good place. It’s ironic that witches were burned at the stake for being a witch, but now Salem is the biggest tourist place for witchy items. That’s sad for this Crone who’s grandmother was a Garden Witch and whose great grandmother was an Ecclectic Witch and told me about the Salem Witch Trials. It was so sad that because of someone’s way of living would bring death to them. Love your channel and your haul is amazing. I’m so glad you had such a great time and are so in tune with the spirits. That will keep you safe in this world in so many ways. Blessings and peace to you my siSTAR !!! 🔆💕💫🧚🏽‍♀️🌹🪴🪔

    my husband and I spent about 4 days in Salem during our honeymoon in 2013. We fell in love with it and considered moving there until that winter there was a massive snow storm along the east coast and Salem and parts around it were under so much snow and shut down. I don't do that much cold.
    I would love to visit Ireland, UK, Iceland and Greenland, and those surrounding areas.

    I love visiting salem. I can't wait to go again hopefully fall this time. Summer is a great time to go almost zero wait lines. Plus Summer has a whole different vibe waking up to the smell of ocean side and sound of seagulls awesome. Good vid. There's so much to do; some people like witch museum but personally I'd skip it. Yes it covers the history but you can get that in other tours. I recommend witch walk lead by a practicing witch. Many visit only 2-3 days. It took me and a friend at least 2, 7day trips to get the most. I find historical sites like proctor ledge(witch hanging) site and cemetery in salem must go to areas. You could easily make vids to best stores,places to eat, and places to go in salem. I was clueless my first time. I suggest trolley as one of the first things to do for your first visit as well as do your research for what you want in your trip.

    I’ve been to Salem once. I didn’t get a very spiritual vibe. I think it’s because they tried so hard to separate themselves from the witch trials. Cementing in the historical sites and just building over them. It wasn’t a bad vibe there either.
    Not like out on the plantations in New Orleans where the evil was thick. Downtown New Orleans was fun and had no bad feel to me, just out on a few of the plantations.
    The museum in Salem was pretty cool.
    I am sensitive to residual energy though.

    I lived in Maine and Rhode Island to name a few places but Salem wasn't;t too far out of the way since Mass was just on the border so I was always in both states. I haven't been to Salem in a long time, "back in the day" it wasn't as commercial as it has become now. Laurie Cabot the official witch still had her shops run by herself and daughters and she was the very first to open a shop there right on the historical spot. She has really paved the way for all that happens there now, fought for so long and hard to have witches and witchcraft recognized ,(she is well into her 80"s now), She runs the witches ball every year on the 31st. her items are still at Enchanted Salem now and her famous shop with the purple door is now run by Laurilei. You should check out all books by Laurie Cabot, her Power of the Witch book was the real stepping stone for me and all her books. She teaches witchcraft and was the first to ever do it at the university and teach it as a science. She's a wealth of knowledge, extremely talented, well traveled and knows all there is about the practice. So in conclusion to the huge take on Salem, the connection was there for me but it was a long time ago, I am sad to hear that it has lost that. Glad you had fun. Be well.

    It's interesting, as there were no witches. It was a weird mass hysteria event. It could have also been in response to indigenous people. So that would make it more of an anti-Native American issue rather than anything to do with witches.

    Yes, people were "harmed" as a part of witch trials. People died in prison, they were hung and one was "pressed" to death. Salem changed their name to hide their culpability. You should read up on it.

      @rafimarques 2 года назад

      Yes exactly! It’s not a tale, it was mass hysteria and lots of people died (there is literally a memorial for them in Salem)
      Also a lot of people think they were burned but they’re just mixing it up with Europe’s witch hunt

    I like the fact of good witches and I wish to be a good witch just without the pentagrams cause I’m Christian and we believe it’s satanism and I fear god won’t accept me for being a witch even without pentagrams but ye

    • @scrubbybubbles2351
      @scrubbybubbles2351 3 года назад +1

      I’m not Christian so I don’t know if I can really have a say but witchcraft isn’t in any way connected to Satan or anything, plenty of witches are Christian in fact, and I don’t think pentacles or pentagrams are connected to satanism either, it’s really just a pop culture thing, but of course it’s you choice if you want to include it in your practice or not, anyway, I encourage you to study witchcraft and how it can connect with your faith and see if it’s right for you, after all, if you’re drawn to the practice, it’s probably something you are meant to do. Much love ❤️

    Lol.
    What an absolute insult to the accused people of Salem. to now have fully operating witchcraft shops selling and items of witchcraft and black magic????
    How insulting to the victims this truly is.
    I'm quite frankly absolutely disgusted.
    How can anyone justify openly practising witchcraft in a town like Salem.
