From personal experience, I strongly advise against using WD40 to clean windscreen wipers. When I next had to use my wipers in the rain, it left a fine film of oil and water on the glass that would not clear and I had a really hard time seeing through it. Very scary and I would never do it again. Thx from Australia!!

I have used WD40 for many purposes, mainly to enhance the function of metal parts and tools. The stuff is toxic as hell, and it has a strong odour that lingers for hours, sometimes even days. Best not to use it indoors, especially in the kitchen when you are expecting guests, particularly for dinner. I definitely would not use it in the kitchen or for cleaning in general. There are alternative products that are less toxic and odorous and can do the job just as well, if not better.

Более того! WD-40 - это НЕЕ смазка! Если "смазывать" вд-эшкой - очень быстро будет так, как и было до "смазывания". вд-эшка - это такой универсальный вариант по-быстрому что-то открутить, откипеть. Но, как "смазка" - полное дерьмо, особенно, если это улица и мороз. Смазывать нужно смазкой, а не вд-эшкой!
*Наверное это заказ от производителя WD-40 - хотят увеличить продажи, вот и придумывают, куда бы ещё её использовать) Тут тебе и замена стеклоочистителя, и очистителя поверхностей **_(при этом специальные спреи для таких целей - существенно дешевле и при этом лучше подходят под такие задачи)._*
*А на резиновые уплотнители лить WD-40 - это вообще бред - насколько знаю, в WD-40 специальные разъедающие вещества, и несмотря на наличие в составе силиконового масла, по рекомендациям производителя после воздействия нужно очищать поверхности от остатков WD-40.*

WD-40 als Topfreiniger, ich weiß ja nicht, den will ich dann nicht aufs Kochfeld stellen und den Gestank in der Küche haben.
Der Ölfilm im Auto wird für ordentlich Gestank sorgen, wenn die Teile warm werden und auf einer Ölschicht wird der nächste Staub besonders gut haften.

WD40 ist giftig und greift organische Materialien, Kunststoffe, Gummi, Lacke und vieles mehr an.
Zudem ist es wassergefährdend.
WD40 ist für nichts, was man im Video sieht, zu gebrauchen.
Man gefährdet sich und seine Gesundheit, sowie die Umwelt und sein Hab und Gut!
Auf jeder Dose steht, "darf nicht in die Hände von Kindern gelangen".

WD 40 on break disks ... not a good idea at all, protect them before spraying on wheels, as well as the ruber of the tires.
Do not put on greased fast mechanisms too, because it will remove the grease, the mechnisms will be lubrificate for a short time, then you'll have to reuse WD40 , ever and ever on short delays ... put grease back where there was some, best idea (you can use WD 40 to clean the mechanism, then dry it and put some new grease).
The rest seems ok, except for the smell ...
WD40 is extremely toxic: you don't want it anywhere near your living space, cookware, or clothing.
All of these uses are terrible and borderline dangerous.
as a granny who lives by herself i use W D, Duck tape ,and electricians ties lol my house held together with it

1. Should we really be spraying hydrocarbons into out toilet??? Isoparaffin is a branched-chain of saturated hydrocarbons derived from petroleum. Or, simply put, it's a type of petroleum-derived mineral oil.
2. What does WD-40 do in your gas tank? It is not suitable to place in your gas tank. WD-40 does not have the same properties as gasoline and putting it in your tank could do severe damage to your engine. Don't do it.
Its ok for a carburated vehicle but I wouldn't recommend it for injectors
He didn't put it in the gas tank. Only greased the cap. And that small amount definitely won't travel to the engine.

А если серьёзно, часть трюков - обычное использование WD-40 (преобразование ржавчины, удаление воды и смазка), а часть - диверсия (в перспективе разрушени пластика и резины содержащимся в ней керосином), сомнительное применение со стеклом.
Вместо любриканта ещё попробуйте )
надо было еще тормозные диски протереть вд-40,а потом смазать литолом чтоб не ржавели😁

I used wd40 for longtime ago it's very effective on car and enythings else ! but efter using at home,shose or anything like that,must you have to wait until the chemicall smell disappears!
You allowed WD to run between the top of the shoe and the sole. Bad idea because WD breaks down glue and your shoes will fall apart, eventually. Just keep it out of the places where glue may be used to fuse the sole to the upper.
The one thing you never use WDv-40 on ,is skate board and bike bearing ,since they travel through dirt and sand , WD-40 attracts sand and also WD-40 will wash out the grease in bearing fast ,so you need to repack the grease again.

Although WD40 has multiple uses as you point out, this stuff stinks. If you want your house to smell like a garage, go ahead and use it in the home. The smell also lingers until the stuff has completely evaporated. I keep my bicycle in the house and once sprayed the chain with WD40. It took 4 days for the smell to go. Other than the smell, it is great stuff. UK

I live near the sea. The salt air can make white goods such as fridges prone to surface rust around otherwise unnoticeable small scratches on the paint. Once a month or so I wipe all the white goods down with WD40 and it prevents surface rust. I do the same to my dark coloured kitchen cupboards, this eliminates the streaking that can be seen when cleaned with conventional surface cleaners. Only a little WD40 on a paper towel is necessary for this. It gives everything a beautiful sheen and repels little flying insects which can be a problem in the summer.

Yes it's recipe is a a mixture of vaseline and gasoline I guess
WD40 is a kerosene based product and has the main function as water repellent and secondary as label remover. It can also be uses as lubricant and mild(read poor) corrosion remover/inhibitor. That is it. Any other use is pointless and rather destroys stuff not repair them. Will destroy plastic and rubber and will oil stuff(and make them look shiny) not especially clean them!
completely agree. After treating it with universal WD 40, it will actually attract dust and dirt rather than repel it.
The exception to the rule is the silicone spray version.
