    Yes! This is awesome! I'm a pelvic floor physical therapist and I'm so glad to have someone make this video, especially discussing pelvic floor lengthening since most people only know about levels. I'd also like to mention that pelvic floor PTs treat urine leakage, difficulty urinating or retention, constipation, fecal incontinence, prolapse, various diagnoses including endometriosis, interstitial cystitis, adenomyosis, tailbone pain, pudendal neuralgia, post-prostatectomy and other male related pelvic floor conditions!

    ahhh amazing! Thank you so much for this video! I’ve heard how important this concept is while pregnant (i’m just about 10 weeks!) and it’s confusing to understand without a good explaination & this was wonderful!!! Loved your diaphragmatic breathing video too- i’ve been practicing daily. You are the cutest pregnant mama to be ever!

    Dude 2 weeks postpartum and I figured this exercise out intuitively - the diamond and making my vagina feel very tall - it feels awesome to do because after pushing a baby out (and I didn't even tear) it makes your pelvic floor feel so weird and weak and messed up, I had to figure something out.

    I went to PF PT for 14 months. One cue my PF gave me was to think of a roller coaster. Slowly contract the PF up like the roller coaster going up the first hill and then slowly bring it back down.

    This is THE best explanation on how to do a pelvic floor contraction! Thank you!!!
    How often should I do this?

    • @Megsquats
      @Megsquats  3 года назад +3

      Since these are not strong pelvic floor contractions, you should be syncing contracting and relaxing the pelvic floor with diaphragmatic breathing techniques, and find a rhythm to where you're naturally contracting and relaxing the pelvic floor for every breath you take. This should be natural. We'll cover more in the next video on how to apply it to exercise!

    I would love to know what women who feel extremely nauseas during their 1st trimester do. I already gained weight, because I feel like the only thing that helps for a short period of time is food...but unfortunately stuff like crackers or bread seem to help me the most. The way I usually eat (lots of veggies, fruit, etc.) makes me feel like throwing up even more.

      @@lisadahm751 Try to take the pressure off yourself for eating healthy while you're feeling nauseous - you're doing the best you can! Eating a little bit every hour helps, even if it's some crackers with peanut butter. Find what works for you, I found that uncooked salad veg like cucumber and pepper cut up was much easier to eat than cooked xx

      I’m curious about this too - I haven’t looked too much into the pressure management strategies and how they differ if you don’t have a vagina. Illl have to look more into it - def poor intra abdominal pressure can cause hernias and even fecal incontinence, but I’m not sure what the cues look like yet!
