I just picked up one of these open box at Best Buy for $100. I got a 4 year geek squad warranty for $20. Sounds amazing with my Yamaha A-S801 and Paradigm Studio 100 V2’s. I liked it so much I found another one open box for the bedroom for $125. $150 with the warranty. Can’t beat that
I got two of these in 2015. They’ve worked well and held up. No complaints. I’m not over analytical, I just enjoy my music. Sounds great to me. I am going to exp with an external DAC just out of curiosity. I want to see if I can detect a difference in sound quality. Taking a hearing test in September to see what frequencies I can still hear.
I found one that appears to have never been used for $40. The build quality is much better than my Sony cdp-ce500 which was a surprise. Really amazed with this onkyo!
I've had a Cd player just like this since 2015. It's been very reliable unlike a similar cheap one I bought from Wards in 1996 that lasted less than a year. No wonder Mongomery Ward went out of business.
I just got one on Facebook but for whatever reason, no sound. It's not the connection or the speakers, since I swapped out this unit for an old DVD player and that worked. Totally stumped.
Question...I see you have speakers connected to your device. I was given this device recently, and it said I couldn't hook speakers directly to it. How is yours set up?
You need a stereo receiver or amplifier. Connect cd player to receiver and plug speakers into receiver and you’re all set. One can get a decent receiver, stereo or A/V for $200-$400. Assuming this is your first stereo rig, I’d get a 2 or 2.1 stereo receiver and enjoy your music. You’re going to have a lot of fun putting your first stereo system together. One usually carries fine memories of their first rig. I do anyway. Have fun. Hope I wasn’t too late to help. I’d love to hear back what you ended up doing.

If I decide to buy this it'll mark my gradual drift away from RUclips and TV subscriptions for sure in favor of books music and art
What type of speakers are you using?
On sale at Goodwill also
We recently bought one and the display is black, any ideas??
I bought so many CD players, but this one is the best! It sounds perfect, $2000 player.

i went thru an integra and marantz cd changer and they bost did not last very long.too many moving parts.
Does the repeat really work? Not mine, why ?
Mine doesn't work also 🤐 I think, it works in a different way. If you press repeat, all loaded discs are played repeatedly, but not the selected disc!
