I was watching 2-3 of your videos tonight. There was one titled "I shopped outside of my niche" that showed some white and pink doilies with a LOT of "foofoo" around them. You commented about some of the doilies being starched, and seemed unhappy about that. I grew up in the 50s and 60s. My mom had a LOT of crocheted doilies. She ALWAYS starched all of her doilies pretty heavily, and the ones with all of the ruffles were then dried flat with juice glasses or wads of tissue paper or something underneath every other ruffle, so that when they were used, the (then stiffened) ruffles went up and down all around the doilies. Some designs were dried flat on the bed with the "foofoos" pinned into the shapes she wanted them to dry in. If they weren't properly starched and shaped, they didn't look the way they were supposed to look.
I will be in Vegas for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. I told my husband I need to visit your thrift store on black Friday. YAY
That penguin blow mold looks like the little guy from Rankin and Bass Santa Clause is Coming to Town. So glad the parakeet is ok. Poor Rachel

Have a great time in San Diego. I am stoked and probably won't get much sleep tonight because my local thrift store opens a second all Christmas store and it opens tomorrow morning. I look forward to this store all year. It is a huge treasure hunt...every room filled with Christmas goodies. Eek! I always do so good and I am excited to get in there with my Ikea bags in toe. :)

Did you skip the macrame candle holders that matched the singleton you nabbed? I’d use them for other things, not candles.
I seen that too! I know Danni doesn’t do candles, which is probably why she missed it.
I don't think they are candle holders. I think Danni called it they are desk accessories for holding pens and etc.
I think I saw a candle in one of the cups. I could be seeing things.
@@janetkorsak I saw t he candles too but I don't think that's what they are made for. You couldn't burn a candle in something made of rope.

Danni, small business Saturday is the day after Black Friday. I know you said you were going to be helping a few different charities. If one of those charities is for, animals will say, you can call your local radio station and either ask for a "Grand Opening" celebration of some plugs on the radio and tell people if they bring some dog or cat food they can get 10% off their purchase.
Or ask the radio station to come to the store and do a live Grand Opening for a few hours. It will let people know where you are, who you are, what you are about, and get some foot traffic in the door.
I've done things like that before, and it can really help.

The Popcorn Poppers fantastic I got one new at the thrift store for 5. 99 and I love it. Your little birdie was having a hard time laying the egg, I used to put mineral oil with an eye dropper to help them in times of trouble. If you don't want to have babies you got to get the males out of there. LOL Love your videos Danni !!!
