I agree with you. Seemed very low budget and the overall story was pretty mediocre.

這事就算結束了，我也沒放心上，結果呢，當天晚上，我就做了個奇怪的夢，夢裡出現一位中年男子，小個子，穿著長袍馬褂，就像是解放前地主有錢人穿的那種，他給我說，他的前世就是我們這裡的大地主，以前家境富裕，自己家做買賣的，還納妾了，娶了三房姨太太。因為好色，喜歡玩女人，本來興旺的買賣越做越衰敗，後來，又吸上了大煙（鴉片，是一種毒品），全部房子舖面也賣光了，成了窮光蛋，後來又得了花柳病（就是現在說的性病）去世的，這一世投胎變成了老鼠，捨不得老家，又跑回來了。
你看，好色邪淫多可怕，大地主都搞成了窮光蛋，死後投胎做老鼠啊，老鼠多可憐啊，吃點東西都是偷偷摸摸的。
