Well Done !! I really enjoyed your battle for 3rd. You did really well to control the race line and not give him the space to make the final turn onto the front straight. Just subscribed and looking forward to this season. Good Luck - from Halifax- former Montrealer..
looks like so much fun! I usually bike there in the summer but it looks more fun in a formula 1600... gotta love the mirror held in place with duct tape
Yeah, I don’t know why they keep us there for that long, normally we go through the pit lane so I can turn off the car and talk to my team but this year we went straight on the track. In race 1 it surprised everyone and the guy in front of me still had his umbrella with him in the car and had to throw it on the grass on the straight.
This looks like so much fun! How do you get into F1600? Is this a championship race? I have many questions and I'm struggling to find answers online but very interested in this! Also I was there in grandstand 47 on the straight so I saw you!
i started racing a couple years ago in karting and then I took the jump into cars and formula ford was the only open wheel championship in Canada so we decided to do that and then got a good deal on the car. It was a championship race, it counts towards the Quebec series championship and not the Ontario one as the classes get scored differently and they are separate championships. I'd be happy to answer some more questions you have. Appreciate the comment!
@@victorsmialek that's amazing! Thanks! The F1600 website is pretty outdated so I couldn't get much info on it. Is there anywhere else I can see results and more information that's more up to date, do you know?
@@chadryerson52 formula1600.com/ That’s the Ontario website which I think you might have already checked out but there’s really nowhere else, I don’t know why the Quebec championship doesn’t update their website. It’s a shame. For example I get all the results and weekend info from email from the organizer. For the public I don’t think there is much.
And that's called having more HP than your competitor.... Drive is smooth, but clearly a mechanical advantage at play... Just watch from 27:40+ and the unassisted pace (no draft required).... Having raced against the RF98, I can speak to it's aero slippery platform.
I don't think he had an engine advantage. The orange car seemed to lack grip coming off of the final chicane, allowing for him to retake the spot. Otherwise, he wasn't really pulling away.
The orange car lost the throttle return springs about 3 laps in. The car would pin the throttle. Had to clutch kick to slow for the corners and was at a disadvantage on entry and exit. Miracle that it finishedthe race.
I'm trying to build one of these with my school lol
@@Jake_Fish_pleb nice, hope it goes smoothly
WOW!!!! What a battle for 3rd place

I was at turn one on that race! Great job 👏
Thanks, hope you enjoyed the finish😄
They held you guys on the grid for ever... the engine temps must have been high.
