Bee Gees - You Should Be Dancing - Saturday Night Fever (John Travolta)
Title: You Should Be Dancing (Edit / From "Saturday Night Fever" Soundtrack)
Artist: Bee Gees
Info: Saturday Night Fever is a 1977 American dance drama film directed by John Badham. It stars John Travolta as Tony Manero, a young working-class Italian-American man from Brooklyn who spends his weekends dancing and drinking at a local Brooklyn discothèque; Karen Lynn Gorney as Stephanie Mangano, his dance partner and eventual confidante; and Donna Pescow as Annette, Tony's former dance partner and would-be girlfriend. While in the disco, Tony is the champion dancer. His circle of neighborhood friends and his weekend dancing help him to cope with the harsh realities of his life: a dead-end job, clashes with his unsupportive and squabbling parents; gang violence and inter-ethnic tensions in the local community; and his general restlessness and disillusionment with his life while feeling directionless and trapped in his working-class ethnic neighborhood.

John was the KING of the movies and the Bee-Gees was the Kings of music. A wonderful time in the 70's
John Travoltas precision and speed in this dance are simply unmatched. A peak performance 10/10👌
The film that IMMORTALIZES John Travolta into an icon.
Music of my youth❤
Queens, NY
Saturday Night Fever has sold over 40 million copies. Between 1977 and 1980 over 25 million copies. The most of any other album in history at the time. The Bee Gees made music history. I think John Travolta's talent helped to make this album such a success. What do you think?
Jeff Martin ! Perfect your comment.🕺💃
I concur wholeheartedly!🔥💜❣️🌹😎⭐

Hai ragione!!!! 👍👍✌️✌️👋

I was born at 1977 and i wish to experience the disco era. John Travolta dominated with those dancing moves. I never get fed up watching him dance.Totally Extraordinary
No one in 100 years could pull this off like John Travolta the best dance moves I've ever seen and he so much looked the part tall dark and very handsome
John Travolta was phenomenal in Saturday Night Fever!
Here, where he is left alone dancing, is The God of Dance indeed.
Those years the world was so peacefull. Best from the best years and so full of my memories.
The setting, the rhythm, the instruments, the voices etc. it all still gives me goosebumps after all these years. It was the very best time of my life!!!! One of our buddies impersonated John Travolta, I grew up overseas...we had so much fun then.
Fun times the good ole days 😂
This is arguably the best disco music 🎶 ever in my opinion. Travolta was a ingenious class act to this song.
I watched this movie 7 times
I was besotted my it.

Its brilliantly done.
2022
Never get tired of watching this jaw-dropping performance. Wow.
View 41,878,560... Thank you for the song.
the director almost removed this scene from the final cut of the movie. Travolta asked him to keep it because he spent months practicing. This scene eventually "made" the movie.
Idiot director; this is a mesmerizing scene.
Carlos Roman
What, !! this was the best part of the film .
Thank God for John Travolta.... Greatest movie scene EVER!
ICONIC NO BRAINER
Best Dance scene ever. So many people mimic these moves to this day!

John Travolta.... What a dancer! Even Princess Diana was smitten. RIP Princess Diana🌹 English Rose 🌹🙏
Every decade has its King of Cool...the 70's had Mr.John Travolta....
I love how we used to dress back in those times. No ripped off jeans and T-shirts. Great moves by J.T.
yeah no entry unless wearing a suit!!! good days
This track would fill the dance floors even now . . .
+X-Ray Vision I don't think so RAY...kids these days don't do this kind of dancing like they did in the 70s-80s
I agree not the dancing.
What I meant was that the tune is still catchy even today.
Just my opinion though . . .
X-Ray Vision
Well I'm DJ, and in weddings YES, works very good
Which goes to show how stupid they are. I was a kid when this movie came out and we still liked dancing to swing and big band dancing.
This was the song and the Dance that shocked the world in late 70's! Travolta and the Beegees hit it BIG TIME.
@Rusty , maybe for a fool like you, it didn't.
Amazing dance moves. Timeless. Nothing comes near to this performance today.
John Travolta showed out# LITERALLY. He captivated the world wiith t his stellar performace!! I can watch it repeatedly! 2k19
John Travolta a brilliant dancer Bee gees a great band a good film 👍🏻
I just want to say I always love you John Travolta❤❤❤❤ Move those hips Awesome dancer
I remember watching John Travolta on "Welcome Back Kotter"--then this movie came out, and he was a superstar. What a great dance scene!😊💒
I remember that too.
Watching John Travolta in this movie is my guilty pleasure....
An all-time favorite, it came out the year I graduated high school, lol..
New York disco in the 1970s and 1980s, and those Italian guys from Queens and Brooklyn.. You got me dancing, yeah!!
P
Still kicking butt in 2019. Bee Gees music is fantastic.
Hoping everyone is enjoying their Saturday Night 🌙
The precussion in this was unbelievable.......oh those 70's
Back in the day! Travolta seriously on his “A” GAME! Look at him dance, classic....
This movie and soundtrack still has sway forty two years later and still going strong. YOU SHOULD BE DANCING SO DANCE ON !!!!
WHAT YA DOING IN YA BED????!!!
🔙🎶🎤🎈🕪🔊👢👠💃🍺🍹
Watched this film 7 times. Travolta capturevating dancing had me hooked line & sinker and the Bee gees brilliance
made this a significant era in
Dance music 🎶 Incredible.
WOW! When the film came out I couldn't see it. I was 10 yrs old. But really enjoyed the sound track. Still giving me goosebumps.
Makes me feel happy but slightly emotional that I was so young and carefree then, now I'm 61 and the years flew by too quickly, but what a time for music the 70s was. 💗 Manchester, UK. 🌷
crazy how time flies, im 19 now but tomorrow who knows, my dad's 61 as well
How hard John Travolta trained for this film!!!
I heard him say he trained for 5 months he had to ask them for this dance, he knew it would make the film. He knew it would show that he was the best dancer. 💕💕💕
Back in a time when young people were carefree and enjoyed life instead of bitching and moaning about everything. I'm SO happy I was born in the mid-50's... couldn't have chose a better time to grow up.
wish i was born in past too..
AMEN!!!!!!
I came here cause this is a great representation of how I want to dance as a drag performer. Too many prancing queens and they get praise for looking pretty. I want to I want to be known for skill.
It's not the young people's fault.
Long live the King of Dance !x total inspiration of talent and STRENGTH! X
This song is a masterpiece, it is so well put together.
Robin Gibb once said of this song, "We weren't trying to write a disco song. We were trying to write a really good R and B song."
Amen
God I remember going straight to a disco for the first time after that movie and after that I went every weekend. I loved those dance clubs and I will never forget the good times.
I was a teenager and I'm getting old.
I love bee gees, John travolta
Greetings from Greece
Travolta was a bad boy! Awesome performance.! Yes, he owned this movie, no question. Disco baby....
Immortal dance scene of the great John Travolta of an unforgettable movie!!!
The music of the 70s reminds me of warm summers in Washington state. Yes we had warm summers back then. RIP
Maurice and Robin.
Me sinto privilegiada por ter vivido essa época maravilhosa, que até então, nao surgiu outra que emplacasse. Tão maravilhosa que já eternizou 😍😍🤗☺😘💃🎶🎵🎼🎧
Privilegio mesmo!!
🔥🔥
excelente momento, e hoje isso!
I was not a happy or confident person in the 70's and 80's, but the music was great for dancing. Dancing to disco in the 70's and live bands in the 80's are my best memories of those times. Loved this vid.
Mi amor platónico Jhon Travolta 😘😍
БЕСПОДОБЕН!!!ОБОЖАЮ!!!!
Did you all know that when John T danced this, it was not to this song. He was dancing to like Stevie Wonder and stuff. The BeeGees song was overdubbed later.
Sempre il numero 1.Grande John cuore italiano. ❤️
Travolta at his best. Fabulous....love it..🥰☺😊

I am just bursting into tears, because I miss that lightness and freedom of the 70ies and 80ies.
I hear you..was just a little girl in the 70's..but I remember it pretty well..and my oldest sis was into some disco..still had fun, some great music! And I was a teen by '85..so I agree 💯% with the '80s part! Everything started to take a turn in the early '90s (more or less?)..fond,wonderful memories!
I am with you. I miss the good times.
Me too , best times ever
@@metallicatlaura5408 yes you are right - the turn started already in the early 90's ...
Yeah I feel you! I tried putting on my socks the other day and nearly fell on the floor. It sucks getting old! But it's ok because I was around when music like this was out and people were just having a good time without their cellphone and lapp tops to distract them. I truly miss those days!😪😪
No Smart Phones in everyone's hands around the dance floor....lol. So refreshing. I like some technology but really would love to go back to this time. I loved life, people and music so much more back then.
It was a GREAT time to be young, I tell ya! Everything that's happened in music and clubbing since is derivative.
No dumb chicks trying to get the perfect picture for their Instagram post that no ones cares about. Everyone is trying to be a influencer when they can't even influence their kids to eat their vegetables.
Miss it so!
@@LyleLovinit Lol....so true !
@@LyleLovinit no one under 25 knows how to cook vegetables......or dance :) not like us!!!!!!!!!
LONG LIVE DISCO!!
Outstanding! Don't forget John Travolta is an actor not a professional danser. He learned all these moves for the movie.
Conexion-Travolta:Bee-Gees:Toni Manero...Impresionantes!!!😚😚😚
Travolta, The Bee Gees, and Saturday Night Fever...all Good Damn Legends!
Dancing is the greatest and the most fun exercise ever!
La mejor época de todos los tiempos, la Época DISCO,
Got to give John Travolta a lot of credit for doing his own dancing. Most actors don't, which is pretty obvious and annoying. I know he trained for months, but I could tell that he's a natural. He has that swag
Did you see Urban Cowboy??? He was out of this world in that!! awesome dancing!
Eum ... you guys know that he is a dancing singer right ? That is why in Grease he is also doing his own singing too
I wonder if he still dances?
in 45 years
Never get tired of watching this!! It’s amazing to watch every time. Makes me happy nostalgic.
The greatest dance scene in the history of cinematography..the most iconic and popoular no doubt about it... Simply Unmatchable..
No no no noooooo.... though if you enjoy it, that's good! But not even close to being one of the best dance scenes.
best year's 70's and 80's the music was the best
sure was
So true!
I'd wish live in those years!
I agree, Linda. Even before the 70's, that is, the late 1960s, I was dancing my brains out at the Country Belle on Newfound Lake in Bristol, NH.
I agree. 80's though was the best era for great music.
最高で巣。いい時代だった。ジョン・トラボルタ踊り最高です。
Que grande John Travolta y Los Bee Gees
Gahi a sag law as! Humoka lang, unya swag gamy
Glorious. This simply brilliant scene is so iconic that I can't think of any other more enchanting than this.
Hes still getting residuals for this 44 yrs later
The bee gees are up there amongst the greats.
I guess I'm just getting old but I sure miss these damn songs and the heart that people had in life
Robyn, the era is gone, but thank God, not the music. Buy the CD's and dance around your house while you do your chores, or make a RUclips playlist like me...
YUP - We're getting old but TG the memories of the 70s are still intact -- and unmatchable..
I used to be able to dance like this, but now I need drugs, or a LOT of booze to "bust" a move!!
Life's so boring lately....
I agree with you Curtis Ostriker. I saw Saturday Night Fever on stage in Paris last week. It wasvery good - but no male dancer could hold a candle to Travolta as he was in 1977.
I swear I'm listening to these guys and don't know why I never liked this music before! So groovy. Respect to the Bee Gees. 1977 baby!
travolta was the shit back in the day.
+mel bias His best movie EVER!
He was the dogs
did you ever watch SOUL TRAIN back in the day? there was too many brothers that could of kicked that ass DANCING, by the way, the man who taught him how to dance for that movie, his name is DANNY TERRIO.
tigre bengala yeah, none of the brothers did saturday night fever and are not known and travolta is a legend, and i know who terrio is he also did dance fever, give the man the credit that his due to him, geez!
He was very sexy and hot....
Adding this song to my workout playlist!! This will definitely get my steps up!! 😀
love his dancing, clothes that was the way it looked. I was a Teenager then 🎉❤
No one can dance like John Travolta. He is the King of Disco!!!!
