    Eskom has suffered greatly from decades of internal mismanagement and meddling by corrupt politicians. Well done to the current management team.
    Worried that their good work comes too late. We can't live with price increases of 20, 30, 40%. We need to take care of our financial welfare 🌞

    Mr Dan Marokane is an able leader. With him and Dr Mteto as Board chair I'm excited to see what Eskom will have for us in years to come. Might even apply for a job there, who knows😅

    The creators of Eskom envisaged Power stations that would be built on top of coal mind and the coal reaching the power stations via a conveyor belt and also Coal mine that would be owned by Eskom which made Eskom cheap in the past.
    What changed between old Eskom and new Eskom is that coal are reaching Power stations via trucks and from mines that are not owned by Eskom.
    Eskom operations cost come from primarily Energy. To sort this crises out is easy.
    Eskom should run all coal mines that supply coal to the power station and all the coal must reach the power station via conveyor belts.
    All truck drivers that supply coal to Eskom should be absorbed by Eskom to be given other Jobs. That will be much cheaper. And all mines that want to supply coal to Eskom and they are far from Eskom power station, can find new markets.
    This will save South Africas.

      Sad part about life is that we suffer so that other families can eat alone and drive big vehicles🤷

    Difficult to believe the economy had to suffer deindustrialisation + yrs of LS while Mr Marokane was around all the time + he could have prevented the economy crashing to its knees.

    I wonder what was De Ruyter doing there in the 3 years he was there instead of being political.

    Well, it's definitely helped that 5000MW of private solar was installed in the last few years. Or we'd be in Stage 5 by now.

    They applied for a tariff increase at NERSA so all will go smoothly and look positive until that is approved

    What a thieving company, at our factory we installed a huge Solar unit that produces 25% of our daily consumption and our bill went up by almost R 50 000-00 from what it was last year this time !

      I got my bill down to R700 pm for main house and flat, all the cost saving I have done has gone out the window with all the price increases, now the average cost is R1700.00 pm..
      it so disgusting that they can keep getting hikes after hikes..

    Looks like the Eskom guy swallowed the whole budget ....
    He looks like that other BEE belly, Affirmative Action cadre Kulubuse Zuma who ate a whole mine.

    Very well done for keeping the lights on. 🤝👍 It easy when people can't afford to buy the electricity to keep their lights on.

    BS again, we currently have no electricity because the oil level is low on a unit, KZN. This bunch knows how to manipulate the public.

    There are three guys who are not being given due credit. Caleb Cassim, Andre de Ruyter and Jan Oberholzer. Examine the timing of the adoption or the Generation Recovery Plan and Treasury taking 254 billion in debt off Eskoms balance sheet. Those things take months to plan beforehand. And they have to be planned together to be effectve. Take a few minutes to consider that

    • @elizabethtsotetsi5242
      @elizabethtsotetsi5242 3 месяца назад

      Caleb and Jan yes. But not de Ruyter. He just went and wrote a book about Eskom. That's all he did. He's just an investigator. Botched one at that.

    • @neilneil9089
      @neilneil9089 3 месяца назад

      @elizabethtsotetsi5242 Disagree. He was still CEO while the Recovery plan was drawn up. Buck stops with him, either good or bad. My concern is not acknowledging that indicates a bias. I don't think writing that book has done him any favours either...
