This song is so beautiful, & so sad . I always feel wistful & sad, at how fast the years went by. I was 35 y/o,, heading to 36 ,when 1st heard & saw the video on MTV. We were all younger back then , as HIV-AIDS was tearing through the Gay community in SF , LA, Miami, & NYC. I was an RN at Stanford , & it was in '82 that we saw our 1st AIDS patient, a 20 y/o captain of the swim team. I'll never forget him. And, it was only the beginning. In '86, on my 40th B-Day, my Brother succumbed to PCP Pneumonia. This song brings back those times, & those years, beautiful, as it is. RIP, all we lost to the Holocaust of HIV-AIDS.--------MJL, 76 y/o
I'm not being critical but curious How do you know that the strings are synthesized ? And even if they are what a glorious Spring like freshness the strings convey. Perfect because this song was released in the Spring of 83. I was there falling under this song's spell
i don't think those violins were synthesized, though... they probably didn't have the technology to make them sound so realistic yet. that said, THIS SONG ROCKS.
