I grew up on this show. I'm now 19 turning 20 in a few months and I'm back watching this but not for myself! for my baby cousin! I started letting him watch since he's talking now and he loves it. I will admit though I do love watching this LOL. amazing feeling of nostalgia.

This was my favorite show when I was about four years old. I went into kindergarten reading at a grade level far above my peers, because I had watched this series religiously and it encouraged me to read.
Last year in May, I graduated with a degree in English Writing and now I’m working on my first novel. Thank you, Between the Lions 🧡🦁

I cannot believe Between the Lions premiered 24 years ago, which is almost one-fourth century. Time goes by so fast.

I still have very faint memories of this show from when I was a kid back in the early 2000s. While I didn't watch it religiously like some of my other favorites, (Jack's Big Music Show and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse) it still helped shape my childhood and had a lasting impact on my life. I just turned 21 back in November 2023. I'm an adult now and I still enjoy watching shows like this. I probably might still be watching this when I'm in my 50s. Thank You BTL!

This show is helping my 3.5 year old learn to read! Truly he’s sounding things out and I’m not sure what combo of this and his interest and his parents helping him is working, but it’s working! Thank you so much for making this playlist; I truly don’t understand why we can’t watch this on regular PBS. It’s so good!

Okay this sounds dramatic but I got emotional watching the segment with Dr. Ruth Wordheimer. I'm a teacher and there are kids who really do freak out when they see a big word they don't know. Sometimes they feel so discouraged that it makes them want to give up on reading. If more kids learned not to freak out, sounds things out, and ask for help, I think more kids would enjoy reading. I'm sad this show is off the air.

Imagine if there was an Alternate or Extended Ending where some accidently said "The next you say 'Click, please get Pecos Bill for me' by mistake, try not to do it again" in the more sarcastic way or something and Click the Mouse took it seriously and summond Pecos Bill and the Tornado again and everyone would say "NOT AGAIN!"
It would go something like this:
    Theo: Finally, its over.
    Cleo: Tell me about.
Thanks goodness we won't say "Click, get Pecos Bill for me" again.
    Click the Mouse: Executing Command.
    >BEEP-BEEP-BEEP!<
    Cleo: Oops!
    Leona and Lional: Not again!
    (Wild Wind Sounds)
(The same Tornado pops out with Pecos Bill riding it and makes a bigger mess in the Library)
Cleo (Facepalms herself): I had to Jinx it, didn't I?
    Pecos Bill: Not your fault!
(The Tornado continues making a mess)
    >Now that would've been some ending

This is the first episode of the series “Between the Lions”.
The first line of each Lion family member:
LIONEL: “(singing) Gonna read a story before bed! (speaking) Howdy, partner!”
CLEO: “Thank you, Lionel! Oh, Sweet Nursery Rhymes for Sleepy Cubs! Sounds nice, doesn’t it, Leona?”
LEONA: “Yeah, yeah.” & “Wow, can I listen to that story instead?”
THEO: “How Pecos Bill Cleaned Up the West.”

    • @zackharrison6209

Not really. Because the Monkey in Dr. Ruth was performed by Tyler Bunch so he sounds like Dr. Nitwhite. The only time Martin P. Robinson (the performer of Telly) was in Between the Lions he performed Lionel and Leona's Grandpa in Out in Outer Space.

If we want to do our future generations right, we need to reject current children’s entertainment. I’m only 20 years old, and there’s a lot i don’t know, but i can only imagine how much less intelligent i would be if i hadnt grown up with between the lions, fraggle rock, bear in the big blue house and Mr. Rogers’ neighbourhood. These shows essentially taught me how to live and i’m deeply troubled by the idea of those lessons being replaced by content that teaches kids how to be brainless consumers. If you are a parent, please, don’t let your child watch cocomelon or any of the other new animations plaguing this website, this decision has the power to make or break entire lives.
