*NCT EXPLANATION:* The group’s name stands for *Neo Culture Technology* and there are currently *18 members* in NCT and they’re split into *3 subunits* , the leader of NCT is *TAEYONG* (he‘s the red head in this vid) .
- *NCT U* debuted first and the *U* stands for *”UNITED”* , so NCT U is the group’s primary unit and the members are *interchangeable* in that unit.
- *NCT 127* is a Seoul-based group and the *127* represents the *longitudinal coordinates* of Seoul.
- *NCT DREAM* is made up of the youngest members in NCT *(This groups ages are 18 and under)* and their style is more *cute pop* aimed at a *younger audience* but their latest comeback song *“GO”* shows that they're changing the groups *concept and style* showing a more rebellious teenager side to them.

NCT U is based off of concept and skill. In this video it had to do with the specific style and dance level. Ten is known to be the best dancer in all of NCT, and Taeyong is around second place. They were chosen because they are some of the most charismatic dancers, and the way they perform fits this specific concept well.

Both Ten and Taeyong are the main dancers (plus Jisung if you consider the rest of NCT) with their pros and cons, while Ten is better at choreography, TY is better at Freestyles. TY brings Charisma in his dance, while Ten has emotions.

Ten (he’s Thai) the one with silver hair is actually also a main dancer of NCT (because NCT has so many talented members they have *several* main dancers but Ten is usually considered the best dancer even by the other members), he is also a vocalist and a rapper, he has performances on a show called Hit The Stage which is like a dance contest thing and all the contestants were the main dancers of their group,, it would be great if you could react to one of his stages at some point (even though it’s not him singing/rapping,, they’re are still really great to watch because you get to see his amazing presence and talent)

i really tried to stop myself from commenting but to just give you guys advice: try to refrain yourselves from comparing the song you're reacting to with another song (whether it's another kpop song or a western song). i just say this because i feel like it constricts how open you are with the song since a lot of the time when you hear the first beat, you immediately think "oh i've heard this before" or "oh this sounds familiar" and end up completely missing the first verse.
i would also like to point out that it's okay to have favorites (like taeyong) but the fact that khadija said she was completely ignoring ten... that pissed me off because ten is such an amazing dancer and y'all should at least acknowledge that. dizz tried to save her comment by saying it's because taeyong is so captivating but it's still disrespectful to ten so try to be considerate of that. :)
The red hair (Taeyong) is the most all around idol. He is a rapper, singer, dancer and wrote his own rap lyrics also, like the one in this song. Both Taeyong and Ten are the main dancer of NCT..as you can see this song required someone who can dance well not only singing and rapping.
yass nct is such a great group and they might seem a little scary in the beginning bc of their concept and huge amount of members but theyre all really worth it their members are all practically well-rounded and are so talented esp ten (silver hair in the mv), taeyong (overall leader & red hair in the mv) & mark (one of the youngest but is in every unit & is such a great rapper and established member)

So like you said there’s three units. NCT U is the only rotational unit meaning any number of members from the 18 members can be used for whatever concept or song they’re trying to portray. So in this case only Taeyong and Ten was needed.

Taeyong is born to be a star. He might not be the best dancer, but his stage presence is unrivaled.
I love the contrast in the dance style between Taeyong and Ten. Ten has the smooth, fluid-like dancing. Taeyong has the strong, sharp, pop-like dancing. They compliment each other visually. The same can be said for their singing. Ten is smooth and light while Taeyong has the deep rap style voice.
NCT has a total of 18 members and 1 does promotions with the group but hasnt officially debuted yet. NCT has 3 units: NCT U, NCT 127 and NCT DREAM. NCT 127 has a total of 9 members : Taeyong, Taeil, Yuta, WinWin, Mark, Johnny,Jaehyun, Doyoung and Haechan. 6 of the members in NCT 127 are also in NCT U (Taeyong,Taeil, Doyoung, Jaehyun, WinWin and Mark). 2 of the members in NCT 127 are in NCT DREAM. Now moving on, NCT U consists of 10 members. The 6 members already named and 4 new members(Ten,Lucas,Jungwoo and Kun). Though there is 10 members you often wont see all the members in a music video. The concept for NCT U is that he members are in the music video and song if the concept of the song fits the appearance that member has to the public. NCT U has the most foreign members in its unit. Now moving on, NCT DREAM has 6 members(Mark, Haechan,Rejun, Jaemin, Jeno,Chenle and Jisung). 2 of which are apart of NCT 127( Mark and Haechan). The concept for NCT DREAM is youth. The 6 youngest members of NCT( born from 1999-2002)are apart of this unit. They are of seen to do cute music videos were they are dressed like little kids and are the group that you wouldnt expect to be seen actually rapping and looking like they would call out haters. They finally released a music video that has rebellious and bad side called "GO" on March 4th. Now that is a briefing of the three units. Heres a briefing of each member in no specific order.

You're not telling it right. "NCT U" is not a group. NCT U IS the sub-group of NCT. Any time there is a "NCT U" it's a song that is pulling members from any of the whole NCT stock of artists. That's why so far every single NCT U song has had a different lineup. When a song says it's from "NCT U" it means it is combing different members from NCT. There is no actual "NCT U" group.
Have you actually become a fan and understood the concept of nct? and did you actually read my comment? i never said nct u was a group, i said nct u was a sub unit of nct. Nct u does consist of 10 members. the lineup for each song is different because its based on the ability of how that member fits that exact song, so nct u is actually a sub unit . Nct U will add other members to the unit at one point , i was only commenting the members in the sub unit at the moment so until you figure that out and understand my comment dont come for me!
All correct except Doyoung's real name is Dongyoung. Oh and I can't remember if you mentioned this but NCT Dream's unit is rotational as once a member turns 18 they will graduate from the the group. Mark is supposed to graduate from Dream at the end of this year.

Well, chemistry is very important when it comes to choosing sub units😊. The company chooses members they believe work and compliment each other the best. Sometimes a couple members decide to work together in a mini project, and the company likes their collaboration and makes them a sub unit. In this case, Ten is a vocalist and Taeyong is a rapper, both incredible dancers who can learn difficult choreo without a problem and they are close like brothers. I'm sure more thought goes into it, but that's how much I know lool😂😅 I hope you guys check out 'El Dorado - EXO in Tokyo Dome' ❤

Awesome reaction, I love how you guys randomly started singing lol. Taeyong tends to catch people's attention at first, dude has insane stage presence, as much of a fluffball as he seems to be off-camera. Ten has a less explosive dance style, but is an amazing dancer - check out his 'Devil' performance on hit the stage (a dance show). NCT, as others have said, seem to be a revolving door of SM trainees, but this year, they're gonna have 18 trainees. So far. Who knows what SM's gonna do later, lol. They have 3 subgroups so far...
NCT Dream, which are for the kids under 18 - their MVs have been well planned, showing their development through all of them, and age-appropriate.
NCT U, which seems to be a catch-all for subgroups that SM picks and chooses the kids for based on whether the suit the song they're planning on promoting - so it can have like 9 members, or 2, or whatever number..as you've seen.
NCT 127 seems to be the main group so far, with the more aggressive title songs (barring 1, but maybe the exception proves the rule, lol).
In any case, I'd love to see you guys react to some songs from the other subgroups as well. And also some others - perhaps 'Move' from Taemin. Taemin's a senior from the same label as NCT, and in a group called SHINee, but he does some stellar solo work as well!

These two were chosen for this song because they're essentially the two best dancers (that are of age) in NCT- and this is a very dance heavy and sexy song.

Ten (the silver haired) is actually one of the best dancers in kpop as a whole despite it not being shown well here. You can tell much better in his "Hit the Stage becoming a devil" performance or "Devils dance practice"

And for reference NCT is under SM Entertainment and as a whole has a 18 members. SM explains it as an infinite group with infinite members In the brand. They can form subunits with each other and release music freely with one another. There can be as many units as possible. The idea is each unit has a different concept. The only unit that’s 100% permanent is NCT127. This large group known as NCT promotes in different subunits. The 3 subunits are NCT U, NCT 127, and NCT Dream. Now this is a bit complex But I’ll try my best to explain. Taeyong [red head] is the ultimate leader of NCT as a whole. NCT 127 [unit that promotes in Seoul “Korea’s longitude of 127”] was suppose to be a permanent group but as usual SM lied to us and added 2 people. NCT U [NCT rotational Unit] can be switched around , they can rotate and add and switch out members based on the concept they are going for. NCT Dream [Maknae lane {is for our young members}]. When Mark got older he was added into the older group. So for now that seems to be ow it is. There isn’t a real layout though SM is unpredictable and doing w.e they want. So they may add more subunits...who knows. NCT debuted as subunits but all those who have debuted are apart of NCT as a whole.

One little comment in regards to Mark: Mark debuted first with NCT U in 7th Sense, then NCT 127 in Firetruck, and finally NCT Dream in Chewing Gum. They came out in April, July, and August of 2016, respectively. Our lovely little pro-debuter.
Then, to add-on, NCT 2018 is this year's project "unit". It is made up of the 18 members that had debuted with the group as of the first 1/3 of 2018 (Taeil, Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Kun, Doyoung, Ten, Jaehyun, Winwin, Jungwoo, Lucas, Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Haechan, Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung). NCT 2018 performed Black on Black, which has some amazing choreography and a dance solo for Ten (the non-red haired member in this video). NCT Dream consists of the members who are 19 and under in international age. Dream will forever be the maknae unit (youngest members). Dream members graduate from the unit as they surpass 19 years old.

NCT U isn’t a fixed group meaning that the members can change in each of their comebacks. They choose their members based on who fits the concept better.

Nct is less of a band and more of an idea: The group's name stands for "Neo Culture Technology", a broad term used by SM Entertainment to describe its innovative approach to localizing K-pop. With different groups aimed at diverse audiences in varying locations, Nct is an act that sees no restrictions regarding size or artistic style. Fittingly, it has no set line-up and already has more than a dozen members.
There are three Nct units at the moment :
2016 saw three different Nct teams debut, each with a unique subtitle to denote their role in a largest Nct group :Nct U, the first team, released two singles in April. According to SM Entertainment, the U "represents all units of Nct", which appears to mean that Nct U is the group's primary unit. Nct isn't only focusing on exporting Korean music : Members hail from around the globe, including, the United States (Johny), Thailand (Ten he is the one that was now in the MV you watched with Taeyong), Canada (Mark), Japan (Yuta) and China (Chen Le, Win Win and Renjun).
Each of the three units has a distinct style that defines their individual group, and there's nothing to keep Nct from exploring every genre under the sun. Debut unit Nct U set the tone for the experimental nature of the overall group with the smooth trap-infused "7th sense" and the electro-pop ballad "Without You". Since the, Nct 127 has been the most prominent act, and has focused on hip-hop and dance music. The 127 unit dropped the stomping "Limitless" on January 4, and the song with its title seemingly referencing the group's potential, utilizes the diversity of its members to contrast melodic vocals with forceful raps and stomping beats.
No, NCT IS a brand. It is a brand of a specific stock of SM artists. Of that NCT brand they have made up so far 2 groups, NCT 127 and NCT Dream. "NCT U" is NOT an actual group. NCT U is the SUBGROUP of NCT meaning that it signifies that different members of NCT are being combined for a specific project but not that they are an actual lineup. Notice that every single NCT U song has always had a different lineup. Because "NCT U" is not an actual group but simply the subgroup of the NCT brand.

the way that nct u works is basically they have a song or a concept and they would choose the members that fits the concept and release it as nct u
nct 127 is fixed so they wont have any member change (at least for now), nct 127 is the first regional unit from seoul, in the future there would be nct china japan and so on
nct dream is a graduation concept where the teenagers aged around 15-19, when they get older they could be added into one of the existing fixed groups or future ones
NCT U stands for NCT United, and is a rotational group. This means that for the next comeback, we don't know how many members would be in it or if any new ones are added to it. If you take a look at every NCT U video, you'll realise that there is a different number of people in basically every video, and that the members chosen in the video depend on the concept that they have, meaning the members chosen for the come back are all dependent on what the sing itself is or what their concept it.
NCT 127 is a group which represents Seoul, and is not rotational. They can however have other members added to it from NCT Dream(I think).
NCT Dream aka NCT Young, has all the members that are below 18, and represent the youthfulness and freshness of youngsters. They mostly encourage other young people through that, and once they turn of age, they can 'graduate' and officially join other groups. However to join other groups they don't have to be a certain age, as represented by Mark(in U, 127 and Dream) and Heechan(in 127 and Dream).
The redhead that was being obsessed over is called Taeyoung, and he is the official leader of 127. There is no leader for U and Dream as they are rotational groups, so the members always change meaning there can't be a set leader. Taeyoung is recognised for his rapping, singing, dancing, and his goodloooking-ness a lot, and is named the 'mother's of the group because of how he behaves with them. He's also very charismatic on stage, but can also he seen as shy offstage.
The guy with blue ish hair is Ten, and Ten is recognised as one of the best dancers in NCT or the best in NCT. This is one of the reasons why he has his own dance break in 'Black On Black'. He is also known to be very dramatic with his teammates and whatnot. He has his own solo songs, one if which I recommended called 'New Heroes'. Oh and he's Thai, and he also speaks really good English.
nct has hardly any freedom (their manger's don't let them do anything by themselves i swear. they sit in front of them while they livestream and tell them to stop doing things or stop laughing and stuff. it makes me so mad) so it's highly unlikely they got choose their unit.
nct dream: is were the youngsters of the group go so as of now the oldest in nct dream is a 1999 liner (but he has to leave soon as he is now legally and adult because in korean age he's 20 and his birthday is the 2nd of august) and the youngest is a 2001 liner and he is the youngest in nct as a whole (apparently they might add and 04 liner next year).

nct 127 is set in stone and the members can't change. they are adding a new sub unit called nct 116( i think that's what it's called )which is nct china and will have all the members that are Chinese / can speak and understand Chinese and are adding three new chinese members so nct as whole will be 21 people (by the end of next year it'll probably be almost 30 damn )

I would say the only reason you can't call Taeyong "Red" is because he will have a different hair color in another video. Don't associate people with hair colors, because they change all the time.

Mark, and NCT member who’s been a part of every unit so far (except for the U Unit with Taeyong/redhead and Ten/gray hair) explained that members get chosen for units based on who fits the concept best. Because NCT has many songs of different styles and themes, not all members might fit particular styles, which is why some members are in some units and others aren’t.
It depends but most of the time the company chose but some of the time (rare) they’ll make a song individual or with someone else if their schedule is empty..LOVE THE REACTION💕💕💕 And y’all voices are so beautiful 😍😍

NCT U is a group whose members are changeable which means they pick the members that fit the concept of the song they want to produce
Nct stands for Neo Culture Technology, describing the concept of having an unlimited number of members divided into sub units based in various cities worldwide. They are divided into units nct u, nct 127, nct dream (there’s more to come) Nct U is a rotational unit, since there is no restrictions, any member can join at any time, songs are assigned to any NCT member or members based on who is the best fit.
Something you can see about NCT U’s mv’s is that they all have different members. Nct 127, is the only unit with fixed members, this unit is based in Seoul, the 127 represents Seoul’s longitude/coordinate. They debuted with 7 members but later on 2 new members were added for Limitless. Nct Dream is the unit with teen members and has a graduation system, the members graduate from this unit once they turn 19 internationally, this unit is also rotative so new members can join as long as they fit in the age limit thing. Nct 2018 is an annual unit starting from 2018, new units with such format will be introduced, it is composed of all units (U,127,dream) its existence is limited by the year and participation of all current members.

soitssarah Believe it or not when people experience new things one of the ways they make sense of "new" is to correlate it to what they know or what's familiar and comfortable. And believe it or not no matter how much we love our faves and in our heart of hearts want to the believe they are the best thing since sliced bread, every artist out there, is not on the cutting edge and inventing something totally new with every song, every music video, and every dance number.
The thrill is not so much in the "never been done before"--although that is always great to see and hear--but in expressing the familiar in unexpected ways; the source may not be new, but the result is. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and I'm not implying imitation, but if people in the background worked on both songs, it's perfectly understandable to find similarities. In addition, people are often inspired by the work of others and that influence can be felt. It's perfectly normal. I'm no music theory major and I'm no math genius, but I think even if you looked at it in terms of permutations based on notes the numbers are finite and two people can actually arrive at the same combination independently. There are so many factors to consider. If the comparisons are a deal breaker for you compared to what else they bring to the table, I'm sure you can find a channel that will better suit your sensibilities, but you might miss out on learning a few new things from only sticking to the same old, same old.
And I'm also quite sure you've had the experience of hearing or seeing something that reminded you of something else and you were really happy about connecting those dots. To my understanding "reaction" videos are supposed to capture the reaction in the moment in a very stream of consciousness way, and the reactions are supposed to be genuine not scripted and calculated. You can't have it both ways ways. It's either genuine or censored/edited to try to please everyone which is an impossible task.
It’s kinda rude, to actually say “I wasn’t even actually watching the other one” because that can hurt many people that bias Ten, yes Taeyong is wonderful, but please treat them all equally.

Taeyong and Ten are amazing together! NCT U is the "open sub-unit" and this unit chooses the members who will make a song or MV according with concept of this song or MV.
Ten is the main dancer and Taeyong is like a main dancer as well, and togheter they fit this concept. It's a little explanation about why SM choosed Ten and Taeyong, but it's like this how things "happen" in NCT U.
they are chosen based on song concept, and those two fit the song concept most out off all 18 members.
NCT has one crazy concept but once you get behind it it's actually really cool. Soooo basically, the concept of NCT is infinite members, so far they have 18 members but they are going to continue to add members. There's 3 units so far, NCT 127, NCT U and NCT Dream. NCT 127, is the only set group, which means the members won't change. 127 represent Seoul's longitudinal coordinate. NCT U is a rotational group, which means the members can change with each song, that's why some of their songs have 2 members and others have like 7. NCT Dream are all the young members, so I think 19 and less years old, their songs are more "innocent" than the other units. Once you reach 19, you leave NCT Dream. In terms of how they choose their units and which member will be in which unit, the company probably makes that decision. They're part of SM entertainment which is a really strict company, and since NCT is a pretty new group, they are probably stricter with them. They are actually working on a new unit, NCT China, which will have all the Chinese members. I hope this helped :)

Ten is more of a soloist and I don’t mean anything bad by this. But unlike the other members he’s been in only 2 music videos including Baby Don’t Stop. He does solo work on the side mainly focusing on dance. You guys should check out his most recent song New Heroes (a bop). I feel like SM wants him to stay in the group but they treat him as a solo artist because of his dancing ability. It’s confusing.
So there are 3 groups. NCT U, NCT 127 and NCT dream. So the reason there was only 2 people was because based on the concept of the video they choose who will star in the video. NCT is always adding people and will always expand.
Its according to a concept I’m pretty sure, they make a song idea, then whoever best fits that song will do it.
Taeyong is NCT's center. In case you didn't know haha, kpop groups have these positions. When I watch reactions from non fans I realize that SM actually does know what they're doing because most non fans do notice Taeyong first, and that's exactly what a center is supposed to do. The center usually also gets more screen time, though it tends to even out once they've become more famous.
We're not privy to how the company makes groupings (well with some subgroups the members do talk about it, so correct me if Taeyong and Ten did talk about this) but I would guess it's because these two are the best dancers in NCT :)

Basically the different group members in nct U is based on the songs. Only members that are suitable to sing and perform the song are chosen.
For example, baby dont stop...only ten and taeyong perform it. they are the top 2 performer(i wouldnt say dancers cause they have THE performer aura) in the big nct group and their vocals and rap skills are suitable for the song. Member ten though he has his solo song under nct u which is dream in a dream,,,for that song he is able to show his dance style,the song is performance oriented. Another example is nct u - timeless where 3 of the main vocalists in nct are chosen,,,taeil, doyoung and jaehyun. Their vocal colours are suitable for the song. They are also the same members in nct u - without you.
So in the future other members of nct might get their chance to be in nct u. By given the opportunity so they are able to perform different genre/concept from their respective units (nct 127 and nct dream).
Only suitable members are chosen to perform the songs for nct u.

yass baby don't stop is a bop and i'm glad you guys liked it.. taeyong is my bias and he's a very charismatic performer, very eye-catching, but ten is the better dancer i think, and he's a great performer too. I think they're chosen for the subunit because they're some of the better dancers? in nct? altho i'm not sure too haha, i could be wrong, but they did say they focused more on the performance for this subunit, so maybe they formed this subunit based on their stage presence. Taeyong is hard to miss on stage, and ten slayed hard on this one dancing program he was on i forgot the name of the show, so yeah.
