Just bought an 180mm ice-tech today for my rear wheel to replace SRAM Centerline. Hoping for a better bite, and like you said, better modulation. Thanks for vid!
It'll take a few hundred miles for your brake pads to bed in properly to achieve maximum braking force, so you may not have NEEDED to upgrade to XT but damn those XT brakes look nice!
Thanks! That is a Fox Rhythm 34! Stay tuned, bike is getting more upgrades!! not because they are needed really, just cause they are cool! ;) Will be doing a full bike check in the future
I like it, but I'm still a relative newbie haha. The main reason I felt I needed to upgrade the fork was for the 34mm stanchions, the stock fork was only 30mm and that didn't seem beefy enough to match the bike!
thx for this informative vid! I have exactly the same rotors and i'm planning to upgrade to an xt soon. There are a lot of lighter rotors out there but i'm opting for shimano.
@Stephan Paris Can't believe that I ever wrote this comment. Doesn't feel like something I'd say sober and don't remember the video. I think the snide comment gave me some bad Karma. I dealt with a slightly leaky rear caliper and ruined 2 rotors and 2 sets of pads this past season. Lesson learned

Thanks, was very useful to see someone do it!
SM-RT 86 are the best!

Tad Garman yep!! Probably not needed!! But upgrading is fun and addictive!!!
Did you notice any serious change at the braking ?
Can i use this to replace the sm-rt26 on my 2021 trek marlin 7 with shimano mt200 front and rear brakes?
Digging the videos I have the the same bike. Your bike looks sick btw. What forks are those

Hi, nice video. So 180mm rotor in the front and 160mm in the back? I'm just wanted to make sure about the weight. Thanks
Yes 180 on the front and 160 on the rear
Is fitted to xtc 4 slr 180mm front and rare
How do you like the XT brakes?? I also have a Roscoe 8 and feel like the stock brakes are not the best
They are great! Love them!
how's it working a year later?
Brakes are working great! now issues with them at all!

That’s not a worthy review, follow up on it after finding some elevation to make use of the product

V brakes rule
They don't, they are more exposed to contamintion, and if wheen gets very wobbly, you got uses brakes.
@@mtbboy1993 r/wooooosh
magura makes hydraulic v brakes for your epic v braking
@@peoplesrepublicofchina8340 technically not V brakes, but yes that exist
I just got mine and it appears to have the outer edges smoothed so they’re not knife-sharp - did yours come like this?
