Keenan Cornelius breaks down an advanced spinning armbar combination he used to submit Lucas Leite at the 2013 BJJ Expo. More Keenan at www.grapplearts...
pretty sure i'm subscribed to almost everyone who demonstrates techniques but everything i've been practicing lately has been coming from this channel. thanks for the great techniques!
Nice. I hear so many people talk about Keenan's "Jiu" game being boring, but it appears that he "lulls" people into a sense of comfortable and waits for a mistake.. I always knew he had an arsenal of moves. . . .
I remember the first time I did this technique, did it unknowingly as a white belt, I was with a blue belt and he was just as surprised as I was when we rolled. Because in all honesty I was trying to do the technique showed earlier (a kiss of the dragon into a back take) and I failed and ended up into an armbar lol
The kimura is a beautiful thing to get very familiar with in your game exactly because of situations like this. Everyone and their mother knows to defend against it, but because of that EVERYONE reacts to it. If you can learn those reactions and how to respond to it your game will improve immensely. The same is true about all submissions, but I find I can threaten the kimura in more positions and more often than anything else.
Yeah he's ATOs too, I actually rolled with him a little when he came to my school for a seminar right before he got his Black Belt. (I quickly tapped to a knee bar.... & Arm bar )

Keenan is the man.. Respect and thank you
Pretty sweet. But a black gi with black mat and wall, no necessarily a good idea for videos!
Good note actually...
Truly awesome move and excellent explanation of the "redirecting the force" concept. Thank you!!
What a beautiful move! So much strategy......thanks for explaining the technique
isnt the guy he is using as a helper the guy the was in the lloyd irvin scandal? im not sure?
No, he left Lloyd when that happened.
Keenan is a beast! What a win over such a good opponent.

Andris Brunovskis is Atos too now?
Yeah he's ATOs too, I actually rolled with him a little when he came to my school for a seminar right before he got his Black Belt. (I quickly tapped to a knee bar.... & Arm bar )
Wow
Danm that move is awesome, but dangerous I messed up my shoulder, when someone did it to me, because all his weight is actually falling on your arm
Fuck Yea
boom perfection
No disrespect but his defense for armbar is wrong. He's supposed to have his left knee behind Cornelius back before trying to stack
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

Great! The tough part is spin because your oponent will grab your pants
Agreed. So why did he spend so much time on the grip break but none on the spin? But still a great fighter and a nice move.
ART LOW
That was absolute genius! So awesome. This is gonna step up my attack.
Fuck Yea
