Never gets old seeing these boats move around the river. We've taken our skiff up and down the river many times, but have very little desire to take our sailboat specifically because of the congestion. The operators make it look easy.
Yeah it’s a wild ride - no matter how many times we run it, still gets the nerves going! Especially when you see one of these big boats coming, but if they’re under tow, I always feel a little more at ease!
It's called a river but actually it's a Tidal Estuary. Rivers generally flow in one direction. A tidal estuary as it's name implies, is at the mercy of tidal fluctuations and can flow either way.
@@geezer652 Its a dredged canal with a water control structure on the upstream side, if they left it open it would let water out of the everglades and run in one direction but south florida needs that water so they keep it closed unless a hurricane or otherwise wet year makes them need to drain the level of the glades a little. I believe its called the new river because it was dredged in addition to the Miami river during the reclamation days to help drain the everglades and make south florida habitable, and also ruin the glades but thats another thing...
Loved your video❤ subscribed & waiting for more😊
Thanks for that note! Definitely encourages me to make more!

Christopher So you don't take your boat out because of the traffic or you won't take it in there?
I don’t take our boat into that congestion.
we’re berthed south of the port, so luckily we don’t have to navigate that stretch.
That is an insane amount of money!
Right!? Look for my other video that shows Safe Harbor Lauderdale Marine Center from the air - talk about a lot of money in one spot!
Not sure why your video was served to me….but glad it did.
Feeding the algorithm! Maybe you watched some other boat related stuff? Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for commenting..

It's fun to listen to - especially when things get tense out there!

Can’t help you there, we’re all about boats
Expensive roaches in that part of town.
They’re apartments. Google “Live Rio Vista Las Olas”
